My first-ever attempt at creating something different than a basic rally compilation! 🚗 While this video might not have the best visuals on my channel I consider it to be a significant milestone in the TRACKSIDE.fans project.

    Some backstory 👇
Back in 2022, I had a full-time job and never had a proper chance to turn this video into what I wanted it to be. However, in the past month, I realized it’s a shame that some of these shots never made it anywhere except my hard drive. With Trackside gaining a fair number of followers, I thought now was the best time to finish it so people could actually enjoy it.
Looking back, with all the knowledge I’ve gained over the past year, I would have done so many things differently. But here are some key takeaways for those of you also trying to make videos:
-It’s always better to have more footage than less. Some of you might have noticed that I struggled to fill some scenes with B-roll or other clips to help tell the story.
-Have a script or idea board. As you’ve seen, you can’t plan for everything, especially when it comes to road trips and cars. But having an idea board or, at the very least, knowing beforehand how you want to structure your video/story and what shots you need will help you tell your story.
-Don’t buy cheap NDs. You don’t necessarily need to buy Polar Pros when you’re starting, but buying the cheapest K&F Concept filters isn’t a good idea either. When the ND filter is low-quality, it will completely ruin some of your footage-not only by vignetting but also by messing up your colors. The NanoPro Series from K&F or even better, Haida, are good starting points.
-Capture emotions. Having 100 shots of cars passing through is nice and can create a lot of content for social media. But if your story lacks emotion or people, it’s bland and doesn’t leave the viewer with much feeling.
That being said, I hope you enjoyed this short series, and let me know if you’d like to see more!

I made the same mistake and bought a relatively cheap k&f variable ND and it was a piece of shit. Am currently looking at an alternative or to switch to fixed ND’s in the future. What do you use?

@@thematty2303 Thanks for the question! You can check my recent videos on all of which (except this one) I used the K&F Nano-X Series, which is supposed to be their "premium" line. I needed a 82mm size and was on a budget, so I'm quite happy with it for the price. However, I probably should have spent $50 more to buy the Haida PROII, which, according to some tests, is better-but still not top of the line like the NiSi True Color 🤷‍♂

Oh my god, what did I just watch? Amazing, amazing, you should make a 2-hour long movie because I'd pay my entire salary for that! Astonishing job, Mr. Trackside.

OMG This is the best video I have ever seen this year. The studio quality is amazing. I was glad to participate in the trip to Greece, and I have to say it was the best rally I've ever been to (of course, right after Barum Rally Zlín, which is the best rally in the world😛). In czech:TOŽ TOTO JE KURŇA HOŠI NÁŘEZ!

Amazing job, mate! Great intro shots, stunning scenery, and gripping commentary-it's got everything! Max's cameo was a surprise, as I thought your Greece journey involved only you and Adam 🤔 Keep up the fantastic work-support from Šáj ❤
