He is notable for his open-handed technique with the high-hat on his right, instead of the more traditional left, but still played with his right hand, which avoids crossing arms/hands/sticks. Apparently, it is more efficient and allows faster playing, once you have it drilled into muscle-memory. I think he is probably the best technical drummers of his generation.
