I'm a Yankee fan and you gotta give Pedro credit, this guy was unhittable...
@breadandcircuses8127The Red Sox had to rely on Pedro Martinez for pitching.
In the toughest era in baseball to be a pitcher Pedro dominated......and by the way he did it in the toughest league and division.
THE GOAT
Just look at the 99 All-Star game when he strike out McGuire and Sosa
@@EssexAggiegrad2011 it was sick whT he did there, he would have struck out 6 guys in 2 innings but pudge threw out a runner trying to steal 2nd. The top of the national league all star lineup was no match for them he made them all look silly. I was there and it was electric
when pedro was on... lights out....one of the best!!!
Pedro at his best was the best I have ever seen. His pitching was absolutely nasty
I was at this game I remember it like it was yesterday. greatest regular-season game I've ever seen
"One mistake. One little mistake and it cost (Roger) the game. I hit two batters in the 9th because I didn't want to make the same mistake." -Pedro Martinez after the game. I was also there. Two complete games by two pitchers in their prime. Chilly May evening felt like bloody October. The HR was just the 6th baseball the Sox got out of the infield. That was the first time I saw the Sox-Yankees rivalry full on, and it really was something special.
Pedro es el mejor
His change-up is unbelievable
Have been an NL fan since childhood, but boy oh boy, Pedro in his prime pitching for the Red Sox was fun to watch.
I truly believe this was the greatest pitchers duel of the past 20 years. Considering the offense in MLB was so dominant and the amount of lefties hitting in the game at yankee stadium heightens the performance. April 10th, 2005 there was a similar game between pedro and smotlz in which smoltz K'd 15 Mets in 7 innings but lost to a Pedro complete game.
Pedro was the nightmare of the Yankees 🔥🔥🔥💥💥💥
edison t and Ortiz was a nightmare for the Yankees too .
They beat him plenty of times most of the time Pedro started off good but then would get cocky and didnt want to exit the game and that's when the Yankees would beat him
not quite...
@@aspacebeing710 not really
Yankees always matched him with Clemens so Redsox couldn't score or red Sox didn't score at all but in Yankees brain they know wouldnot score a lot of runs like they did to other teams pitchers
Pedro was their daddy
Pedro > Clemens. Winners don't need drugs to help them win.
That's why Pedro's in HOF and Clemens isn't Decetop . What makes Clemens' case so sad is that his pre-steroid numbers in Boston was more than enough to get him in Cooperstown
Dan Duquette was right. Clemens was washed up.. but then he started using in Toronto and New York to extend his career.
@@jockoadams3377 There's no allegation that he was using PEDs in Toronto. Just New York and (probably) Houston
If I remember correctly Clemens
was acquitted of all charges regarding steroid use so with that he is eligible to enter the Hall of fame problem is he most likely wont get enough votes to get in that's the problem not many people liked him
I miss Pedro
El mejor de todos los tiempos la mejor curva sin igual. Orgullo dominicano 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
It's not about his strikeouts, but how bad the hitters looked trying to make contact.
Pedro Martinez was the sandy koufax of this generation! He was such a little guy, but could throw like crazy! The only other pitcher that had that talent was sandy Koufax.
Pedro greatest of all time, perhaps.
Pedro goat able to dominate in steroid era
Crazy
Amen
One of the greatest pitchers I ever saw..made the game look like a joke during his prime..
Pedro’s the greatest pitcher of all time and nothing will ever change my mind on that
Ridiculous. Vintage Pedro. Off speed early innings, gas in the end. What a change-up!
Paul O'Neal stroke out like twenty times lol
Pedro throws a knuckle curve and my man called it a changeup
Pedro is my favorite athlete
From 1997 through 2001 as good as anyone ever! Considering era and arsenal and dominance and league and divison
El mejor cambio . Change-up , imbatiable señores sacaba de paso alos bateadores, pedro tenia una extrategia que trabajaba alos bateadores rapido y le metía esa presion psicologíca señores exelente pitcher
THe ball just seemed to explode out of his hand.
I only wish pedro could've gotten more world series rings for how great he was and what he did tirelessly for so many years to bring the red Sox out of the curse. Sad they weren't willing to pay him what he so clearly deserved.
This is how awful of a commentator Joe Morgan was, 9ks in and he’s saying “He hasn’t struck out as many as he usually does...” how many strike outs did he want Pedro to have in the 5th?
One of the best nights ever and against that team
I miss Pedro.
Montaba un espectáculo pedro en nueva York
Pedro Martinez is the greatest pitcher of ALL TIME 💯 All around GREATEST PITCHER of ALL TIME. At his prime Pedro Martinez know (his opponent’s knew) Pedro Martinez was Unhittable. #GodMode
Golden age of baseball
That's what I say
SPORT ILLUSTRATED MAGAZINE COVER 2000.
" Pedro Martinez, he's so Good.....its scary "
Paul could be such a baby whenever he would strike out.
Faceoff vs. Roger Clemens on ESPN
*K dro* Martinez!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Goatness
Pedro el grande!!!!
Great game
pedro fue el papa de los yankee oor mucho tiempo
HE DOUBLE CLUTCHED
What a move!
Saw this live
Pedro was straight evil on big games
Is it just me or are the guys who played in the 90's way bigger than the guys who are playing now? Hmmmmm... I wonder why.
Oliver Santikham not really
No expression.
this guy was a killer.
I rememver watching this live and trot nixon hit in the winning runs a guy who owned clemens
The hardest thing to do in pro sports is hit a baseball. Pedro made is borderline impossible sometimes.
Pedro definitely used sticky stuff!! Pitched good when it didn't count. Pedro found his daddy playing baseball... His name is NY yankees🤣
No way hahahahha🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴💪💪💪💪
One thing about it.. neither of these lineups were cupcakes lol. Possibly 2 best in the league at the time
In 2000? Neither lineup was one of the best at the time, the White Sox for example had Thomas, Konerko, Ordonez...
@@fwiffo1376 maybe not the very best! But 2 of the best between the best at that time.
Baedro
hi
The Dominican who brought the entire city of New York to its knees
I miss Jeter
Why the fuck did Jeff Frye double clutch for at the end of the game? You could see Pedro's body reaction to it as well. I am a Sox fan but this is some stupid late 90s early 2000s bullshit the Sox used to do to fuck games up. Just throw it to.first!!
Bruuuuu
Who is the announcer? It’s been bothering me not knowing his name!
Jon Miller
Who is announcing this game?
Brad Carter Jon Miller & Joe Morgan
Bernie almost got him
Luckily almost is not enough. 👌🏼
공도 못 맞히면서 잘 휘두른다.
I miss joe Morgan
I miss Jeter
t millz who doesn’t
How many yankees did he plunk in this game? Rarely a game went by when pedro didn’t bean one of the bombers!
So far so good so what?
