My dad was from Tennessee so I grew up listening to all the great country music. Then I was a teenager when The Beatles hit the US. Watched on tv all the girls screaming, crying and fainting! 🎸🔥☮️❤️👵🏼
Loretta had many songs banned by radio, however when they hit the charts, radio had do play it. That's why she had 21 not hits. These songs were done in the 60s and 70s. She is the queen of country. She opened the doors for all the other woman in country music!!
She holds the record for most banned songs from country music radio with 14. When she was asked about it, she said it didn't bother her because every time the radio banned a song her fans would buy it and so in a way the radio helped her sell records.
Listening to this song reminds me of my own mother, who was divorced in the mid-sixties. I remember the stigma attached.
Loretta is enough of an empath to get how others feel without having had the experience herself. Which is why she has always been a good songwriter.
This was so many divorced women in the 60s +, but the song came out in the early 70s. Men assumed they would be easy and women trashed them trying to keep them away from their husbands.

Loretta always managed to take a delicate subject and get her point across in song. She got married at a young age, maybe didn't finish school, but her enormous talent was always there.
It’s always good to hear a Loretta Lynn song. Besides her classic period, she did a great later album produced by Jack White of The White Stripes.

What is so sad is the reports that Loretta has passed, however, she is still much alive....at 89...she is still breathing...
Why would anyone want to start or continue a lie.
People are so dang quick to spread the rumors before finding out the truth.
The problem here is a lot of people jump on that band wagon thinking it is truth.. so sad what media and social media has turned into.

You have to do Portland Oregon by Loretta Lynn and Jack White. The backstory to it is she got tired of Mooney cheating and decided to make him jealous by pretending to have an affair with one of her band members. The scheme worked, but not like she thought. He got drunk and pulled a gun on her in the bathroom. That incident did put an end to his cheating, though. Most of her songs have a little of her real life in them.
Thank you for this one. Loretta Lynn always has been one who carried songs with important points in life.

Always took it that back in the culture of the 60s and at least early 70s Women had a stigma attached to them as a divorcee and for married friends were scared that they were gonna steal thier Men .Loretta always good thanks for sharing .

It was a play on the movie rating system. She is also known to talk at the end of her songs. She has no filter and still doesn't. She says whatever is on her mind.
