It’s funny, I grew up in Brazil, yet I found your videos the most accurate and clear to understand and finally be able to lean to play bossa nova . Thanks a lot for your info
I first encountered bossa Nova 20 years ago on a study abroad trip in Mexico from a guy who learned it in Brazil and taught it to me. But I went on and explored other genres throughout the years then came back to it and decided to really learn some standards. Thanks for being there and putting these down
Really Great Michael, Your video found Me well ... playing 50 years music/guitar and on a mission to learn as many 1950 and 1960 songs I can ... Your lesson is GREAT ... Your New Friend a "Walter Wanderley Guitarist" Johnnie from LA/CA Thanks
a pleasant Saturday May 20th, 2023, michael. I am Jerome, and i really like that Bossa nova song, WAVE, you presented. One problem, though. I am blind, and also basically live alone. So, if you don't mind too much, would you kind record that son again, but just spell out all the cords? Particular those triads over bace notes. That would be most helpful to me as a blind guitarest. Thanks !
I open with DMaj7 - dont´t know how authentic it is, but I think it sounds ok. FMaj7/A in the chorus sounds amazing when you play it - but not so much when I do, so I guess I´ll stick with my index FMay7:)
Hi, Thank you very much for the tutorial. I have a question, at 5:09 intro part 1 2 + 3 +(4) l 1 +(2) + 3 4 What is the meaning of white color and red colored (number) beats? If someone knows this please explain this to me. Bossa nova rhythm is tricky, It sounds lovely, but demonic to learn!
Hi Michael this morning 5:30 am I played along your lesson when I thought "lets ask Michael about the Song Batidinha from the very same Jobim Record like Wave .. this would be great to look at ? :-)
Sounds great...But for the first two minutes the chord diagrams displayed on the right don't match what you're saying and playing. Otherwise, great lesson!

Grazie, Mariano! Apprezzo il tuo commento.
Do I hear waves in the background?
I hope so.
Awesome! You should definitely do a lesson on Jobim's version of Aquarela do Brasil, I haven't seen one of his version.
That's a great idea! Thanks, man.
Sounds great...But for the first two minutes the chord diagrams displayed on the right don't match what you're saying and playing. Otherwise, great lesson!
Hey Michael, I just checked the video and everything is synced up on my end. Any chance there was an internet glitch on your end?
