- Sadly the DVLA didn't sort the V5 for the Austin van in time for Rustival.
Cue my long suffering, but ever faithful Reliant Supervan 3 as we drive to Gaydon and back for the Rustival car show. Including our quick walk around the event.
Where are you? We love your videos. Don't stop!
Yes definitely, this bloke has talent, wonder why no more uploads?
Your Supervan was one of the stars of the show for me. I've never owned a Reliant but I'm slightly obsessed with them.
Owning one is a blast.
Thank you! It’s a slightly silly and unrefined car… but unwaveringly loyal! and good fun. Thanks for watching
Reliant supervan done well a brilliant guys well done
Loving the strategically placed ear protection. Great video, you really captured the day.
Great video and event report, love presentation your style, makes life real. All the best Bob
What happened with the Austin van? Did the V5 come through eventually? Hope all is well your end. Would love to see an update on both these cars.
where the bloody hell are ya?!
Love the Reliant i got a Rialto on a 1992 and a Robin on a 1976
Where are you.?
Watching the road footage took me back to riding in my older sisters Regal 21E nearly 50 years ago ,when I was a small child, except hers filled the cabin up with smoke on a regular basis. I had also forgoten how much they rocked about. I very much enjoyed your video.
Epic journey for you and the Reliant. Fantastic video really loved the video .Shame about DVLA and the Austin van . Sorry we missed you . Please keep videos coming GR 8 stuff 👍👍👍👍👍
Love the ear defenders on the dash. 😂 Really good channel.
What a great road trip for you guys in plan B the old reliant served you well great to watch hats off to you too keep them coming 👍👍
It can’t be denied, it’s a reliable old van!
Haha that little trip looked like a laugh.
When I was a kid my dad had the car version of the Regal. He must of been mad as he towed trailers full of camping equipment and a small boat. He drove it all over with and without wife and two kids. Now when I look at them and the construction of them I shudder to think of it. Great to see one on the road.
Was great to meet you both and thanks for showing me the van, awesome to see it in the flesh!
Was a pleasure to meet you and have a chat, Thanks for the support as always!
@@badgerlodgegarage thank you! Hopefully will see you again soon!
Great video as always really enjoyed it , keep up the good work guys , all the best Dave .
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Hi just came across your channel. It's fantastic as such pertental hope you will be uploading more videos you should work on the channel and grow it as you have all the right ingredients for a successful channel
I really enjoy watching your videos and you two lads having the crack, and i admire your faith in driving there in the 3 wheeler Reliant. Although the sounds coming from the front suspension
when you hit holes in the road, sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Saying that, I wish you a safe trip home in one piece, as i watch you guys from sunny South Africa.
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it….Fear not the suspension is sound! The noise over bumps is the ill fitting doors bashing down on the sills.
Love that Reliant - enjoyable episode - thank you - just subscribed
Glad you enjoyed, thanks for subscribing!
Well done seen you and the reliant there, was expecting to see the Austin. Great turnout.
Was a great event! I was scuppered by the dvla, but was fun all the same
Great video, loved it! Great to see brothers having a good time together making memories.
Would've enjoyed listening to the chats you had.
Where have you gone? I hope you haven’t been culled
Excellent, indeed! The Reliant may be a bit noisy, the ride may be a bit rough in places and the interior not particularly comfortable for all but shortish runs, but at least she's reliable. Even if you do need ear defenders! A 300 mile cross-country trip must have been quite an adventure, and good fun, too. I enjoyed your laid back wander around the show as well. So, nice video, thanks guys! 🙂
Thanks for watching! It was good fun, Though it’s a bit of an old dog, it’s never failed to do anything iv ever thrown at it! And that’s why I do actually like it.
Hilarious, thanks gents. Great to meet you at the event. I could see the van attracted plenty of attention.
Great to talk to you for real…Nice to put some faces to names and have a chat in general! It has an interesting appeal this van!
Thanks for a great video guys, the Reliant was reliable but so noisy, saw the ear defenders! Looking forward to your next vid, like your style 🚙
Thank you for watching and for the feedback, It’s a good old van, loyal but very loud!
I did see the Supervan on HubNut's video and realised that indeed the DVLA had let you down, shame really because it would have been good to see the Austin out on the road. I've been to a HubNut meet and they're really good events and with Steph and Matt adding their bit it must have been a cracking show.
It was a very good show, We will get the Austin to something mark my words!
@@badgerlodgegarage You'll get a shed load of attention, mark mine 👍
Great video really enjoyed it thank you guy’s
Glad you both had a great time, great video as always. Looking forward to seeing the van on the road. Already thinking of going next year in my 4 door Morris minor if it’s on.👍well done lads.
Thanks…It’s a good event, If they do it again, I’d definitely say go!
Try adding some adjustable motorcycle shocks to replace the standard ones. Defintely a safer drive as the van will bounce around instead of pitching or rolling. Experienced pig owner of a few when i was younger and more broke. Good luck fellas
You said you'd be surprised if it would be stolen
They get nicked rather frequently, we had a regal van nicked near us but was found a few months later all painted up like a trotter van on a different set of plates, they are the easiest car to ring & sell on sadly
When you said "nice Rover", my Rover P6 Mr. Blue Sky (Almond colour) was at the end.. sorry I didn't bump into you lads.. (Phil)
Ah thats the one! It’s indeed a very nice rover, hopefully bump into you at a future event!
Excellent
best sound insulation for a Reliant is a thick wooly hat pulled down over your ears. In summer, use your bike.. All the best and Bon Courage. Keith
R.I.P
I used to wear earplugs.on my Regals on anything over 50miles,the.Robins and Rialtos werent as bad, mainly diff whine that gets draining after a while
Saw your Supervan in Hubnut's video yesterday, so realised no V5 for the Morris 🙄300 miles in the Reliant? Bet those ear defenders were put to good use in order to maintain your sanity!😁Enjoyed your footage of Rustival, was refreshingly amateur, and I mean that as a compliment! Too many UA-camrs cover events like this, spouting encyclopedic knowledge of car facts and figures which, to be frank, I couldn't give a to$$ about. I just like looking at old cars!
Thanks for watching! And for the positive feedback
Also your starting problem is common with the zenith carb, they are crap
If you swap it over to the SU off a Robin it transforms the car, also less likely to leak and burst into flames too!
Thanks for the suggestions! You are indeed correct, starting issues are a mix of old knackered zenith and a fuel pump that leaks back (one way valves not working) so you have to pump fuel up every time! I do have an SU for it, but haven’t got round to fitting it yet.
Nice Saab there..
Checking if you're alive.
We'd all like to know. No update on Facebook either.
Just get some fresh seats for it. I've done 661 miles in my Rialto no back pain although mine is almost factory condition. Sound wise it was awful.
You show in your video that you stayed at a Premier Inn close to Gaydon Musum, could you advise which Premier Inn this was as we're looking to book there for the National show at Gaydon. Many thanks in advance.
We stayed down the road in Banbury, quite a few options around there
@@badgerlodgegarage many thanks
Great video. The ear defenders did make me laugh, when I saw your car at Rustival. I was meant to be there with my 2000 Reliant Robin, but it was being fettled with, down in Exeter.
Is reverse gear prone to jamming, as it is with my model?
Thanks!, shame yours wasn’t ready. Never had an issue with reverse, but this is the earlier gearbox
It certainly wasn’t that bad 👍👍👍👍👍
Have u passed away ?
When i was 16 my mate was not allowed a motor bike so got a Reliant van, we had epic times, went all over the place just used to pick it up and turn it round (NO reverse gear allowed ) Happy Happy days. Ps Love the music who was it ?
Ah yes when revers was banned if you wanted to drive a car as a motorcycle!, the music is from epidemic sounds library , couldn’t say who wrote it off the top of my head.
You have a close resemblance to a young Ade Edmonson, and at the end were you driving on the Petersfield to Lavant road?
Crossed with hard man villain actor John Bindon.
Hubnut nightmare with a few exceptions
Epic!😂
at what speed were you cruising?
Was cruising at 55-60 quite happily, I wasn’t pushing it too hard though.
3300 miles? My satnav. is a bit like that!
Ah yes probably need something between those numbers!
The mistake is not using ear plugs in the Regal 🥴…..I mean for us viewers😂
Superb. Come and join me in Essex. We work on all kinds of crustiness and we have JaffaCakes.
You had me at JaffaCakes!
Tastes like a mistake 😂
The smell of imminent failure. Ah yes, I know it well.
