I was in the room that night, it was my first day on the job working for the Senate 25 years ago. I have seen every state of the union since, that was the best.

This is the President of the principles of America's patriotism, loyalty as well as lead and govern by America's own rules of the laws of constitutions as well as the great importance of our foundations for America's greatness. I believe President Reagan wanted to address that America's own principles should never be ignored, but to follow and obey, because America's own principles of constitutions to maintain, protect and defend America's own foundation as the governing leadership represents America's patriotism and loyalty which will subject to America's security and safety as well as America's future. We love President Reagan, President Bush. God bless America.

Great to have access to all these documents online now, after all the trouble to listen to them via AFN Europe way back then...
I do hope the Library will continue to post all these valuable historical documents here!

At 5:45, Reagan brings up the Iran-Contra incident. And at 6:30, you can tell the roars of applause and cheers have affected him--he's near tears, with the forgiveness America had shown for the tragedy.

And with the very beginning of his speech, the Gipper redeems the reputation tarnished by the Iran-Contra incident--speaking of it with firmness and dignity! You can tell the explosion of applause and cheers moves him deeply.
"There must be NO Soviet beachhead in Central America." AMEN! If only the presidents that followed had that attitude. We may never have had to deal with Chavez or Ortega, or even Castro today.
Near the end, we hear the foundations of his farewell address.
