You got be effin proud of yourself for capturing such an incredible sight with the drones....seriously stunning
thank you very much!
Wow!
Thanks!
What a great video! I don’t know what is lit up more, the Aurora or your face while experiencing this beautiful moment of nature. Wonderful work Jake!
Thanks Jonathan! I've been here 25 year and it still fills me with wonder every time
Good morning world! Jake, what a great video to wake up to. You knocked it out of the park on this one! Great story telling , editing, music and what outstanding footage. Now you have added Alaska winter and the Aurora to my bucket list. Thanks so much for this great work.
Thank you so much James!
This is an incredible life experience to capture. Amazing work Jake. Happy to know that the Mavic 3 works well, in hyperlapse mode, for these conditions.
Thank you so much Eddie!!
Probably the sickest drone lapse I've seen! What an accomplishment 👏
Thank you very much!!
These aurorae were so prominent that we even saw them in Ireland. I was fortunate to see a full display in Canada about 20 years ago (at 4am in the winter). Great video and very glad you were finally able to test this out.
Thats awesome! it's funny because I think it was about 20 years ago when I last saw a display like this one!
EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! So frickin happy for you dude, such an incredible sight and a joy to film when you realise the gear can see it, beautiful video, loved it and your energies ❤🤙🏻
Thanks a ton!
Too good Jake! Brilliant! Totally worth all the effort you have put in! Just love the content that you continue to generate...keep it up!
Thanks! Will do!
Yay! Very cool! The Hyperlapse looks great capturing the northern lights, as well as being able to see the surrounding trees, hills, well done! Wish it was easier to pick and choose a night when you can do that.
Thanks Mark and yeah I agree an easier time scheduling this would have been great lol
Spectacular! Fantastic footage. Really like the hyperlapse .. and your pure excitement is uplifting too!
Thank you so much!
I've NEVER seen videos of auroras as stunning as these hyperlapse drone shots !
Abloodymazing !
Thank you!
That is stunning. I can't believe it came out so beautiful. Bravo.
Thank you so much!
Just hearing your reaction was the best…great work and what a once in a lifetime experience!
Thanks it was a fantastic experience one of the best I've seen in 20+ years of living here
That was awesome! Thanks for freezing your face off for us to live vicariously! And I noticed your 505 time stamp…made my day!
Thanks Leigh!! every time I see anything 505 I think of you and mike lol. I have some ideas for some cool things we can hopefully do this summer WITHOUT freezing our faces off lol
Wow, Wow, Wow, Incredible imaging, Jake! Who would have thought shooting in hyper-lapse would give you this kind of results. Thank you for sharing more of the Aurora images you posted on Twitter. Yes, I'm sure glad I posted that Aurora image from the Netherlands due to the Sun's activity. You nailed it, Sir! Well Done!
Thanks very much Steve!!
Absolutely Amazing!!! Thanks for sharing your adventure Jake!!
agreed and thank you!
This is absolutely amazing! I can't say thank you enough for this! I now am going to add this on my bucket list of things to do (or try)! 👍

Unbelievable work there jake . Big well done to you and your friends a proud moment to remember. Amazing sites to see. What a great drone … hope you all got something warm after looks very cold. Hope all is well

Incredible video!
Thanks a lot!
Amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing footage!
thank you very much!
That's defiantly on my bucket list of things to see. The movement was amazing to watch. Great job.
thank you very much!
7:50 I've always seen hyperlapses of it, but never video. Interesting to see a real time video. I was not aware that it stayed visible in the sky for that long. I thought it was like lightning, where it flashed for a second, and then flashed again.
Now I know! Very awesome, Jake!
Yeah on an display like this it's kind of mind blowing
Oh my! WOW Jake! This must have been the most incredible and unique drone shot I've ever seen. You gave me goosebumps! Thank you for the shots and the hard work especially without gloves in the frigid cold.
Thank you so much!
Wow, what an opportunity of a lifetime. Great job! and thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much!
UNBELIEVABLE! Well done fellas.... Bravo!
Thank you kindly!
Absolutely fantastic! 😍😍😍🌌

Awesome video!! 👏🏻😉 Thanks for enduring that cold so we could all see that 😀🥶 great Hyperlapse 👍🏼
Thank you very much and you're welcome
Wow this is incredible!!!
Thank you!!
Awesome Jake! Thanks for what you do!
Thanks John!!
Ok… that hyperlapse is insane!! I was at my cabin in Talkeetna that night and couldn’t stop howling like a lunatic. Great video.
Lol neither could we. That was such a spectacular night for the Aurora!
That is simply amazing Jake! 👍👍
Thanks a ton!
Wow that's amazing. Just like the light painting video. Thanks Jake.
Thank you very much!!
Amazing work ..

Spectacular video! Very cool (or cold, from your perspective) work!!
Thank you!
Amazing adventure to witness & film. Well done. 😊
Thanks!
Nice work Jake!! That looked awesome!!
Thanks Ethan!
That was amazing.
thank you
Awesome! I loved the northern lights when I lived in Fairbanks. You get a slight glow from them in Idaho but nothing like up there. Time to start saving $$$ and trade in my Mavic Pro.
Definitely and the great thing is this is possible with the Mavic 3 classic too!
Fantastic Footage Jake!!!
Thanks a lot!
Your one of the Creators I started watching in 2000 when I got my first drone. You have been a great inspiration to me. Don’t have the great scenery here in Florida like you have in Alaska but I make due with what I have. Please check my channel out and subscribe and leave a comment. It’ll mean so much to me. Thanks and keep me entertained like you’ve been doing.
Using hyperlapse was pure genius!
Thanks!
That's amazing 👌 great to watch
Thank you!!
Finally got around to watching this (I wanted to be"First" lol), but BOY! this one is an absolute BANGER, Jake! If there's any justice in the world you need at least 10x views on this. even having seen the display irl I was NOT expecting this.
Thanks a lot man!!
This is probably the BEST drone video I’ve seen. I have the Mavic 3 too, can’t wait to get some night shots with it. They won’t be as spectacular as your shots of the Aurora though!
Wow thank you very much! have fun and don't forget your strobe on it 😉
@@JakeSloan absolutely. I’ve got the Lume Cube and the Firehouse Arc V…
That Hyperlapse turned out great. That's been an impressive drone for me at night, but I didn't realize you could do that with it! Fun to watch and well edited video my friend! Excited to see what else you do up north. Happy Monday!
Thanks a lot!!
Absolutely love the honest portrayal of just how difficult it is to capture video in EXTREME low light - I am curious to know with your attempt to capture video using the Mavic3, where the lights out of focus, or is that the way the lights truly look? - I also own a Mavic3 & understand the difficulty in low light video & how you have to think on your feet so as to make the most of very rare events - GREAT JOB! 👏
thats how they truely look but also remember there is a lot of noise which degrades the sharpness quite a lot so to your eye they will look sharper. Thank you so much
Damn!!! So beautiful!!! Going to Iceland in less than a week and already excited to try this!!! Thanks man!!!
AWESOME
Amazing! I have to try that some day! Getting my Mavic 3 tomorrow 😊
Awesome!
This was just absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing your videos. I am learning something new.
Regads Geir Norway
Awesome I am so glad to hear that!
I was out that night near palmer. Had horrible magnetic interference and couldn’t use my air2s. Would’ve loved shots like this.
oh dang thats unfortunate! I did have to calibrate my compass a couple times, with the aurora this strong it's not surprising that there was interference with the GPS and compass systems
I cannot believe the UA-cam algorithm did not get this video to the front page yet. That hpyerlapse of the Aurora was so epic it almost looks like CGI. Awesome video!
Thank you!
Wow Jake that's unreal 👏👏👏
Thank you and it was a surreal experience too!
Amazing footage by the way. Massive well done 👏 I always follow your videos and I'm a subscriber to your channel
Thank you very much!
Didn't think when I watched a video that I'd also learn some new vocabulary: Snotcicle. Can't un-hear or in-see that. 😂 Thanks for enduring to get some great footage! Wait, snotcicle... nope, still there...
😁 Don't know if it's scientific but it's accurate
I've been meaning to test this out with hyperlapse! Incredible work here. I know it's not easy trying to set up a well composed hyperlapse in the middle of a freezing night, but you nailed it.
Thank you so much! I've been enjoying your work on ig lately!!
I’m not even there and I’m feeling it … bringing back the feeling from when I filmed it from north of Helsinki, Finland … oh man
oh that is awesome and thanks for watching it!
Awesome share Jake !
Thanks!
So inspiring, I'd love to see the lights in person one day (Bucket List). Long trip from Louisiana but worth it, I'm sure. Great video!
definitely will be worth it!
you deserve more likes..., final vid is looks like a dream...wow
Thanks!
Well impressed! Something I need to look to achieve 😃👍❤️
Thank you so much!
Beautiful work, well done Jake. Be careful out there sir. :)
Thanks, will do!
Friend #2s stache is magnificent!!!!
Agreed!
Its nice to see someone actually film a night video in a place where its DARK. Everyone else is like "Here's what the football stadium, looks like at night". Or they shoot at 20 minutes before dark LOL... Thank you!
That was the goal: Push the Mavic 3 as far as possible!
That is truly amazing! I hope to see that in person one day
I hope you do too!
Jake that was amazing !
Thank you sir!
Incredible!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Hyperlapse video makes sense to use. I wonder if using waypoints Hyperlapse gives you more flexibility in post by using the raw images. Now, I want to take my M3 out their and do the same thing. 😀🚁 Again great video!👍🏾
yes it does, waypoint hyperlapse is what I used for these
Wow awesome! Jake, I got the night mode on the mav 3. I reinstalled the app! ;)
Thanks so much!
I miss Alaska SO MUCH! I wanna come back and vlog again. - Cory Williams / DudeLikeHELLA
Dude I remember when you were up here! It's been a while... I hope all is well definitely let me know if you come back up for a visit
great thank you
You are welcome!
Watching your videos really makes me want to move to Alaska
LOL nice!! if you don't mind cold and winter it's a spectacular place to live!
@@JakeSloan I live near mammoth so I'm used to the cold. But not sure about the long winters 😂
Amazing video
Thanks!
Absolutely amazing video, just amazing. The hyper lapse was out of this world. Do you think that can be achieved with the Air 2, that's what I have? So jealous, that is so so so amazing. I can't wait ti have that experience.
Thank you very much! I think you could do a similar hyperlapse for sure
Those Hyper-lapses! Omg!
I've learned that putting your exposure down can help bring out the light. You can also put ND/4 filter to get the same effect. This works well for video.
Or you can put a ND/16 OR ND/32 and do a 5 - 10 second exposure to get some really good pictures!
under exposing is a great way to bring out the colors of the lights as well
First again - lol looking forward to this one. This is the kind of adventure most of us in the drone community want to have. Curious how you set up exposures for this. About to find out!
YES! I am thrilled that conditions lined up to deliver the ingredients you, as a master chef of the audio-visual , had an environment with potential. As expected, you coaxed a terrific end product from it; pardon my mixed metaphors.
hahahah love the mixed metaphors!
@Jake Sloan That Hyperlapse!!! It definitely all came together. Your excitement was palpable, and no wonder. Just fantastic! Rewards for the months long wait. Bet you got great stills with the full frame cameras too! What a night. What an Aurora experience!
man I got great everything lol. I literally had every camera and drone I owned going the whole time lol
Nice 🤝😎
Thanks!
Wow... I am really stunned.
So bad the Air 2s can't do it that well
Thanks and yeah unfortunately it can't quite do this, but who knows what the future holds for small portable drones!
Great
thanks
