Amazing. I just started practicing watercolor and so far this is the only time I actually like the result of my painting lol. Super well explained and super simple technique. Great job.
Thank you for such great instructions. I love watching you and always learn so much. I’m a watercolor beginner and it’s easy to understand and follow your lead. I’m a big fan!!
found this tutorial really helpful and surprisingly easy to do!! Had so much fun doing this the first time and have done this painting many times after!
Hello Emma, I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on crystals/gems? I have such a hard time and I love the finished crystal/gem. Thank you for considering my request. Christina
Umm, do you actually read the UA-cam comments & feedback? Also, are the Windsor pants you use professional or student grade paints? I am totally new to watercolor painting. Also, what kind of varnish is best for watercolor paintings? And have you ever used watercolor blocks? ♡♡ Thank you! 🐙🐚🦀🐌💟
@@julz9904 ummm... Did you watch the video? Emma goes over the supplies she uses before she paints in EVERY video. She also as do most UA-camrs lists them in the Description box below the video. Emma includes the links to the exact color to Winsor Newton Cottman watercolors. As far as sealing watercolor paintings that's a new one. Glass over a frame is all I've seen. Not all mediums require a sealer. Snark isn't necessary. Emma has said a multitude of times that she interacts more on Instagram because it's more conducive to it. Why is it some people's first instinct is to ask the teacher instead of seeing if the answer is already in a video. She has MANY. Sometimes a little digging by the person desiring to learn info that's already been asked and answered is just a video away. Her audience is large and she has a baby and a life. I see Emma bending over backwards to take care of her audience questions. Help her out a little. She also includes a link directly to her Instagram account. Imagine that.
@Frieda Schnell I appreciate your thinking of me and replying to a post done months ago! Yes, I watched the video! In several of the videos I had been lucky enough to actually SEE, she mentioned asking questions in the comments! Thus I took my Personal time to ask several unanswered questions! I also noted that many of the questions at the time had no response! Thus my question about if she read the UA-cam comments & questions! I wasn’t inquiring on the products she was currently USING! I was inquiring on what her suggestions as a public youtube artist were on several things! I was asking for dialog on professional vs the student paints she uses, for her experience with different products!! And, yes there is varnish for watercolor, I now own some because I researched it personally months ago; so NO, not just glass! Maybe judge not what you think I am asking, if you actually read the post you’d see your judgmental response really had little to do with my questions! In a nutshell, you’re saying follow and support someone else! Yes, I understand she is raising a family! That’s one of the reasons I support, like and share her channel, and shop her Etsy shop! I don’t choose to chase digital social media platforms, her use preferred use of Instagram just limits my getting my answers from her personally! But allows others like yourself to assume you know me, and that I was being snarky? What even is that? Or were you saying you were being SNARKY? Have a beautiful day!
@@julz9904 Well, I guess communicating through social media or most likely lack thereof is alive and well. I also did something that I learned years ago NOT to do.... the whole ass u me thing. (AND no I'm not calling you an arse. Referring only to my actions) I took MY lousy week with major health crisis with my 92 yo father that I'm helpless to assist with because he's across the country and Coronavirus are colliding. I should have been painting away my frustration instead of assuming and spewing my frustration. For that, I sincerely apologize. Will you please accept my apology? I'm glad to hear that you've found answers and I hope to see your art as your watercolor journey continues. 💛
Hi Emma 👋 loved the card you made so pretty and different 👍😀 you are so clever when you have got a paintbrush in your hand you can certainly create any masterpiece thanks for sharing 💞🦋🎇
You are an amazing artist and your voice is actually quite soothing. 🥰🥰 thank you for this wonderful tutorial. It was very relaxing 😌❤️❤️❤️ you definetly deserve so much more attention 😊😊😃❤️🤞
Just followed this tutorial 🤗 thank you! I’m new to watercolour. I love my new Cotman watercolours, lovely and vibrant. My paper is 160g/m2, I can’t figure out if this is good enough (it says its good for watercolour pencils 🤷🏻♀️) I think we classify paper differently here in the UK as I can’t find the 140lb stuff. Anyway, my paper warped a bit but overall I’m pleased. Think I need to do more exercises on how much water to use etc!
The denser the better. But the cheap 300 gram will also go in waves. I recommend taking at least fabriano studio 25% 300 gr. And if you have money - sanders waterford, arches.
I left in "the bottom line" of JellyFish. When you can see it faintly beneath the tendrils, it gives more of an illusion of transparency. Thank you for this great Tutorial! Making JellyFish (aka Man of Wars) all over the place :)
Always so striking and so simple. Thanks Emma. I tried your lovely flowers and they turned out well. This morning however, the lily-of-the-valley trials were unsuccessful. Small white flowers? How would you do them Emma?
My watercolors didn't disperse/settle like yours. Is this the quality of paint? Amount of water? Application? All of the above? Something else? I am obviously VERY new.
Phew I tried to follow along with her, she goes so fast, I was doing good and trying to stay her speed screwed me up. I’ll try another tutorial one for actual beginners. She’s amazing tho!
When it's hard for me to keep up with a totorial I do a lot of pausing and rewinding. It helps me to not feel rushed because when I think about it, I have the advantage of controling the speed so I use that advantage
I love your videos and after watching a few different artists on youtube I enjoy watching yours the most. The one comment I have to make is your constant sniffing. I don 't know if you're always sick or its a habit but it is kind of annoying. I have positive and constructive comments for you but keep up the great work, you're very clever :)
Thats hilarious about the pink....I was a tomby too and hated pink with a VENGEANCE. Then when I turned 50 and opened my own Real Estate business my logo colours were hot pink and black !!!
Jellyfish are gorgeous def will be trying them and show my grandchildren as they love painting with me xxx
I love sea creatures. Your explanations are clear and simple. I look forward to trying these colourful jellyfish.
Thank you for this! I’m really new and this is the first tutorial I’ve managed where I’m not utterly embarrassed of the results.
Beautiful! My son and I really enjoyed watching. He would love to see a seahorse tutorial sometime. 💜
Thank you for this step by step tutorial because it made my confidence for watercolour painting higher.
Pretty and colorful. Jelly fish are mesmerizing to watch. Thanks for the tutorial!

Just picked up a small watercolor set and this was great to watch! I'm a total newbie. You make it seem approachable and relaxing 😌
I'm going to do this with my grandkids. They're going to love it!!

I love these. Jellyfish seem to be following me around recently, thematically at least, so I'm gonna give this one a shot. :o)
I left in "the bottom line" of JellyFish. When you can see it faintly beneath the tendrils, it gives more of an illusion of transparency. Thank you for this great Tutorial! Making JellyFish (aka Man of Wars) all over the place :)
Man of war is a different species entirely! But very similar

Always so striking and so simple. Thanks Emma. I tried your lovely flowers and they turned out well. This morning however, the lily-of-the-valley trials were unsuccessful. Small white flowers? How would you do them Emma?
Love them! Wondering the full name of the turquoise? Thanks!
You should make a watercolor tips and tricks video
Wonderful! Thank you!
Awesome!!! Thank you.
i realy liked it i did it and it was so easy thank you 👌👍
Love the look of these sea creatures....but may we never get stung by one! LOL (I live near the beach in FL)
Great tips, thank you so much. Why are you so congested? Allergies?
Cecile Lavas the weather...
Hello Emma what color do you have in your pallet I like and o want to do someone like your, you are amazing 😉 and thanks ❤️❤️❤️
My watercolors didn't disperse/settle like yours. Is this the quality of paint? Amount of water? Application? All of the above? Something else? I am obviously VERY new.
same
This was really hard! It may have been because I wasn’t using the same brush, but does the fact that I’m using liquid watercolor make a difference?
it shouldn't make it impossible. It will be different but itll just be a little clearer
where do you get you colours
Thanks for another great tutorial! So...is there a “wrong” side to Arches? You have me curious.
Susan Molinari you want to be painting on the more textured side
Thanks, great tutorial!,
Lindo! Muito obrigada! Bom dia
You are my favorite artist to watch. I would love to paint with you one day, do you live in the US?
They are really lovely ... why do mine not look as good 😂😂😂😂 I think mine may be morphing into abstract art 🙈😂😂😂
Om g I'm the same about the color pink!
yeah that "hatred of pink" phase we all go through as a child is called "internalized misogyny"
or maybe she just didn’t like pink? 😭
@@4unyunsliterally LMFAO
I've not grown out of that phase- I still hate it!
Agreed, I love pink now and I used to hate anything "girly" 😢
It’s ok to not like a color. It doesn’t have to be some deep rooted psychological problem.
Phew I tried to follow along with her, she goes so fast, I was doing good and trying to stay her speed screwed me up. I’ll try another tutorial one for actual beginners. She’s amazing tho!

You can always go to the settings and adjust the playback speed to make the video play slower!

I don 't know if you're always sick or its a habit but it is kind of annoying. I have positive and constructive comments for you but keep up the great work, you're very clever :)
Where are your baby 👶?
Thats hilarious about the pink....I was a tomby too and hated pink with a VENGEANCE. Then when I turned 50 and opened my own Real Estate business my logo colours were hot pink and black !!!
It was very haaard 🥺 I screwed up
No so easy! LOL
