I am amazed at how your waves turned out. That is something that only comes with time and experience so thank you, again for sharing. I subscribed and will look for you on Instagram. Be safe and well. 💕
@@kalliopilyviaki I am cool pencil painter, but I spent 20 hours and still CANNOT repeat a single line of those waves, my mood wend down to the bottom, thenks ((((
Hahahaha when I realised what I was doing I was terrified and then I had also caught it in camera hahah ooh boyy hahah 😂🖤 thank you for being here once again! Have a beautiful day!
When I started painting, I started with watercolors. I was 12 years old. I'm now in my late 30s and returning back to them. I watched this then tried doing it myself. I don't give myself enough patience with layering. I'm going to keep at it until I'm happy with the way it looks.
Beautiful piece of art! You give a lot of great tips for a beginner, thank you. Suggestions for future instructional videos for beginners: 1. Please say whether or not you are tapping the brush on a tissue or something after you load with watercolor. Sometimes it looks like you are doing something off camera, but I'm not sure. As a beginner, this would help. 2. What brushes are you using for each part? 3. During what part of the process did you let the paper dry? Some of us have no idea what we're doing and are still learning the basics. How much water to pick up, when to let the paper dry before moving from one part to another... etc. Thanks so much!
I'm just starting to get into watercolor painting and videos like this are so helpful. I'd never think that I would be able to paint something that looks like this, but you break it down beautifully. It's so generous of you to share what you know for beginners like me! Thank you so much! I'll take what I learned here and use it lots more.
This is the best “calm wave” video I’ve seen. I really enjoyed watching your process. You also had some really good tips too. I just found your thru the recommended section. So glad. I’m just self-teaching so it’s nice to find good tutorials and inspiration.
Wonderful painting - for beginners, I think it would help it you told them which colors you are using as you paint. The touch of gold at the end was such a great idea!
If you add a small drop (grain of rice) of liquid honey or glycerine to the pan first, mix it with a toothpick with a drop (like a small pea) of the paint. Mix it really well until it doesn't separate, then add about half a pan of paint and stir gently again to incorporate. Then they don't dry so hard and won't crack and fall out.
tried this today and found it so useful! My first time trying detailed watercolour waves. I showed my friend and he was so impressed! thanks for sharing your skills!
This was very helpful, thank you! Most watercolor painters I've seen for floral and landscape start with the light and work towards the dark. That seems counterintuitive to me in some cases. As you said, the darks dictate where the lights will be, and that is also in keeping with what I've learned in oils and, in some ways acrylic. To me, it's much more intuitive to put in the darks first and form the lights around that than it is to try to be super subtle with the whites and lights and work down with glazing to the darks. Makes more sense to me. Dark to mid-tones is easier to see. Besides, if you end up coloring over your lights, you always have gouache to bring them back. Thanks again.
When you paint these misty serene landscapes, you immediately feel peaceful. And then later this feelings comes back when you watch your painting. Although I work predominantly in acrylics, I love watching watercolor video tutorials and demos. Thank you!

I have no words for your beautiful comment 🖤 this is so so sweet thank you for being here with me thank you for joining me in my art journey and I hope to create many more videos that you love and will inspire you! Have an amazing day , much love ⭐
You are amazing. Thanks for sharing. You make it look easy, but there's a lot of tecnique behind those strokes of yours. The soft balance and realistic movement effect of the waves is not easy to reproduce, yet, it helped to understand how it can be done. You are inspiring and have a shoothing way about you that makes the whole experience very relaxing. Hahaha. Some minutes of peace are golden !
New to your channel! love the painting! Starting out watercolors paintings as a new hobby and would like to know what kind of tape did you use for the edges?
Thank you for this - I'm self taught, been dabbling for many years and this was by far the to watch and try. I would actually put my result on the wall and that never happens!
Hahhaha wooaah I feel youuu Soo much, exactly what I did hahah (but don't take advice from me, still need to graduate 😂 ) but for real maybe have a small art break that will get you inspired again and then get back to studying even better and harder! Have a beautiful day 🖤
Thank you! I was looking for a simple tutorial without funny palm trees and sunsets! My lake view is straight south so there is no sunrise, sunset and moon rise. I want to make small paintings for my village friends so it will be fun to try this. Our sky is however often lavendar or pinkish so it will be interesting to see if I can capture that.

You are right. It's like mountains and valleys. Thank you so much. Painting waves doesn't look so difficult now!
If you mix some honey into the arteza paints you can keep them in half pans. Glycerin doesn't work as well, I tried it.
Ow wow really? Thank you so much for the tip, I'll try it out 🖤🙃 thank you for watching!
And what about gum arabic, would that work too?
I don't think gum arabic would work. It is the binder for the pigment but you could always try it and see.
If it will help, sometimes a few drops of gum arabic placed on top of the fresh paint will keep the moisture in. Just a thought. Cheaper than replacing a palette of paints.

I love this painting, if I can give you two thumbs, I'll give it.
This is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world.
This video made me cry because it is so beautiful! Such a lovely tutorial! Love your artwork, love the music and your voice over! Thank you so much for this! Subscribing now!
I have no words for your beautiful comment 🖤 this is so so sweet thank you for being here with me thank you for joining me in my art journey and I hope to create many more videos that you love and will inspire you! Have an amazing day , much love ⭐
@@kalliopilyviaki Thank you! I can't wait for more artwork from you! You're brilliant at it! All the very best! 💗✨
It's a masking tape/artist's tape/paper tape, whatever works 😊
Thank you for this - I'm self taught, been dabbling for many years and this was by far the to watch and try. I would actually put my result on the wall and that never happens!
Love love love it! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Aw thank you so so much for being here 🖤
Beautiful tutorial, beautiful painting, and beautiful voice… thank you so much for sharing your talent and expertise! 💗
gosh damn, I've got a 1001 exams to study for and all I want to do is chuck all that out the window and paint until I can't keep my eyes open.
Hahhaha wooaah I feel youuu Soo much, exactly what I did hahah (but don't take advice from me, still need to graduate 😂 ) but for real maybe have a small art break that will get you inspired again and then get back to studying even better and harder! Have a beautiful day 🖤
I'm doing this but in acid green for part of a mixed media album cover. Thank you Kalliopi!
soundssss soo so cool 🌟😄 can't wait to see it 🖤 thank you for being here
This is so beautiful! Gorgeous misty ocean 🌊
Hey thank you so so much 🖤 so happy you like it! Kisses
Beautiful... I've always thought the ocean was hard to paint, but I'm looking forward to trying your method.
Thank you so much for watching! Please try it and let me know your thoughts! i really appreciate your comment and you being here!
hmmm... not easy for me 😅😅
Definitely not for beginners 😅
Mine looks like a blob 😂
How can over 200 people not like this, thank you!
