I've installed clean Win10/11 in legacy mode (EFI always makes BSOD) without the bootcamp and MacOS (it was a clean drive), installed the drivers separatelly via Device manager and unpacked BootCamp drivers (not via the setup.exe, because it will make BSOD, but extracted each archive and updated the devices 1 by 1), and everything works like a charm. It works on Macbook 2007 and up.
@@JessiesFlying Well, there's no point keeping the obsolete MacOS on the thing if you can make it a working machine with the current software. Hi Jessie, do you think it's possible to install Win 11 on a Mac Pro 5.1? I followed the first steps of your guide, and tried to install Win on a dedicated hard disk, overcome the block with the Regedit trick, but when I have to choose the hard disk it doesn't recognize it as suitable, I try to delete and format, but nothing changes, I'm stuck there. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
it's true, but they are all confusing and none of them have the tranquility and patience that you demonstrate in your guides. In any case, if you could point me to one that is more valid for you, I would be grateful. UEFI or Legacy it's the same, the important thing is that they work on my Mac Pro.
I have successfully setup win11 on a MacBookPro7.1 (2010-2011?) but without bootcamp or macOS on the hard drive. It works out of the box after installation without any drivers. I’ve just changed the keyboard layout (setup a custom one) if I remember well. I erase full SSD to GPT table for Win11 setup, that’s all (and use the registry tricks to bypass TPM2).
Just saw your video. So happy you are doind Windows on Mac videos too. So i was thinking of picking up Mac book Pro 2014 to run Windows. However i didn't want to even have Mac OS on it. IS this possible? After doing dual boot using Bootcamp is it possible to reclaim space used by MacOS to be usable for Windows?
Thank's Jessie! I'll give a try on my old 2015 MacBook Pro instead of purchasing old HP or Dell for simple Win-based software on a separate computer (sometimes it is necessary, and I don't like VMs...).
I remember way back I had a 2008 white intel MacBook and installed windows 10. It ran good in bootcamp. Maybe try installing old version of Mac os and bootcamp. Install windows 10 maybe on a fresh HD or SSD drive. Then install windows 11. And then maybe upgrade to later mac os.

Yes I actually solved it by upgrading from 10 and letting it connect to the internet. The thing is when installed from bootcamp, the drivers install later but for Windows 11, there was a necessity to connect to internet. I dont have ethernet port on 2015 MPro and I dont have thunderbolt bridge cable. But since I upgraded from Windows 10 that was installed using bootcamp, there were drivers and 11 connected to the net and the installation went through. I even activated using an old KMS that Microsoft had for free licenses back when 10 was released. @@JessiesFlying

@JessiesFlying Just wanted to give you an update - surprisingly there was a shockingly easier way to do this. I found another video from a youtuber called 'MacintoshMen' the video is also called 'Windows 11 Install On 2011 Macbook Pro' this fellow found that using bootcamp to setup the configuration is a mistake for some reason (lol) he just partitioned the drive using the disk utility and then made the bootable usb using RUFUS on a windows machine. I tried it on my 2011 and it worked right out of the box!?!?! - i didn't even want windows 11 on there only windows 10 but using the same method the windows 10 would not even get to the setup properly. The fellow also provided the drivers from a bootcamp rip i think and that almost worked perfectly except the audio driver was not working properly, bluetooth worked, so i just stick with that. Bootup time is crazy fast and i couldn't be happier. I wish i could test this on other macbooks as well but just thought i would give you an update in case you intended to do another windows 11 dual boot video. Btw i could not figure out how you even started from windows 7 as i could not get the iso anymore for that one and bootcamp on latest macos would not let be go back that far - this is why i even searched for this gentlemans video in the first place - otherwise, i would have followed your w7 - win11 upgrade path Anyhow, thanks for the discord link and as always, thanks for your hard work!

Actually it seems like it is possible to install windows 11 on ventura bootcamp in MBR mode by using the originally created Hybrid partition from bootcamp without altering it in any way ... works on my mac mini late 2012 ... no bluescreens or other issues. You just have to boot the USB installer from the Mac firmware bootloader (dont try from OCLP boot menu) ... upon istall comes a blue Screen telling you that you have no network connection ... press Alt+F10 go to drive d: (usb stick) and start the setup of bootcamp via the command line upon completion your windows 11 install Successfully can be completed and you have a fully functional windows 11 installation on late 2012 Ivy bridge hardware

Great! But I tried to install it parallel to macOS, then I could not wipe the harddisk and install it clean....
@@JessiesFlying Well, there's no point keeping the obsolete MacOS on the thing if you can make it a working machine with the current software. Also, I have setup up even the Win11 on the obsolete Macs (without the cpu, tpm and secure boot checks, also with lots of optimizations of the system regarding the performance, stability while the looks remained the same), and it works very nice.
There are a lot of tutorials out there for that, it depends on the way you install it (UEFI or legacy)
it's true, but they are all confusing and none of them have the tranquility and patience that you demonstrate in your guides.

Btw i could not figure out how you even started from windows 7 as i could not get the iso anymore for that one and bootcamp on latest macos would not let be go back that far - this is why i even searched for this gentlemans video in the first place - otherwise, i would have followed your w7 - win11 upgrade path

Macos ventura gives error on my macbook pro 2012 " an error occurred while preparing installation. run the app again". Anyone has a solution for the error? i downloaded the installer two times but all in vain.
Administrator rights? Enough disk space?
@@JessiesFlying Yah. Have both
@@fazalmahboob that’s weird, did you download via OCLP? Maybe the WiFi connection is not good? It seems like a Corp download… 🤔

@@iChiBan089 Great! 😂😂

Thank you so much!
You’re welcome! Sharing appreciated😬
Would this work on MBpro late 2011? Or in the MP3.1? Thank you
2011 and 2012 are not that different, give it a try if you don’t need it for work
@@JessiesFlying thank you for your reply and would this work on mac pro 3.1 too?
@@jru5064 I wouldn’t recommend it
@@JessiesFlying would you mind if I would pick your brain for a quick question? how would I go about getting NVME boot support on my MP 3.1? I've tried the OCLP NVME feature enable but I install the OS to it and it doesn't show on boot picker, most I got was for it to show as a installer and everything is installed susscefuly but can't seem to find the way to make it bootable! Thank you
@@jru5064 as far as I know you need OCLP on SSD in SATA, then you can choose macOS from NVMe. But the whole NVMe stuff is tricky, one of the projects I still have to test myself
I have the Mac Pro 4,1 and dit the upgrade hack to 5,1 it runs Ventura and windows 11 without problems. I did the windows instal with the CD and make the upgrade from 7 to 10 and then to 11. I use 2 separate disks for Mac and win.
Great success! 👍🚀
can you confirm this still works in 2024?
@@memes7191 never tried it afterwards again, but I don’t know why it shouldn’t work…
Also bei meinem iMac2011
ich könnte Windows 11 direkt installieren und die bootcap driver bzw. Die fehlenden Treiber manuell installiert.
Alles klappt super.
Weird my 2012 mbp unibody installed windows 10 fine
This horror step-by-step is still valid? Or maybe exist more easy way?
That’s only for such old Macs, newer Macs are easy with Bootcamp
How to create usb bootable for windows?
Either use MS tool or use Rufus
