I love love love my Dots hooks. I started with Amours, added Tulip Reds, and then decided to get some Dots. I was blown away by the easy feel of the yarn glide along the hook. The handle is long enough for me to be flexible where I position it in my palm (knife hold) and I found I could crochet for hours without feeling fatigued. The main metal part of the hook does start a tiny bit more rough than Clover or Tulip but it smooths out usually within 10-15 minutes max while I crochet with them. I bought 3 sets, 1 for me, 1 for my daughter to make amigurumi, and 1 to keep as a spare or gift later. At $25/set, these are just spectacular.
I pulled mine out yesterday and forgot how much I like them!!! I wish I had added them to my favorites video for metal hooks!
@@SpiffyHandmade I was concerned that the plastic/rubber combo would bother me because so many other reviewers say that's a negative but I actually feel like that contrast helps me position the hooks so I don't accidentally start twisting them. Seriously, for only 25/set they're just incredible 😍
Thank you for this video, this helped me finally make the decision to order these because the clover hooks are great but too short for my hands.
I love my DoT hooks!!!🤩☺️🧶
Oh those are neat, i love how it has the hole for a stitch marker 🤗
Thank you for a wonderful review. I totally agree with you. I really enjoy working with them.
Worth checking out, for sure.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate you 🤍
Wonderful review and crystal clear 😮 thank you 😊
You are so welcome!
Thank you for reviewing these. I’ve seen a lot of other reviews, but wanted to hear your take on them.
My pleasure! I appreciate you💚
Thank you for the review. The hooks look very cute. I like my hooks a little longer.
Thanks for watching!
I’ve seen the Dot’s hooks white, with much longer shaft (?), or it could have been my eyes lol, in a previous video! 🤔
I thought they were white also until I received them. Maybe the cameras just don’t pick it up well. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this review.I have seen them on other channels. Always liked by others. The hole is to put a stitch marker. I like longer hooks too. I'll be getting some too.
Nice! I think you will enjoy them. Thanks for watching!
I love mine!
I chock up so close to the yarn. I feel like I get more control and I can crochet so much faster. The thumb grip might train me to hold it down with control. I like the pointier hook, especially when I’m using thinner yarn and threads. I also think it helps when crocheting with nylon cord. I do like all the colors of the hooks, but like you I didn’t know they were pink. I always thought they were white. I still think I’ll be using my plastic yarnology hook. My yarnology ergo hooks are really long and I like that about them also.
Thank you for watching and commenting 🩵
I'm like you, I thought they were white too. So the pink was a nice surprise. I was crocheting along with you and noticed that we kinda hold our hooks the same. The only difference is that you hold your hooks down on the handle, and I hold mine up close to the yarn. Because I hold the yarn on the hook. I know I'm weird. 😂 Thanks for the review. I've been wondering about those hooks.
You are welcome and thank you for watching and commenting 💕
@SpiffyHandmade your welcome! My first time winning a giveaway was from you a couple of years ago. You put our names in a bowl, and you pulled out my name! I was so happy that I won! I'm sorry I never sent you a thank you card, but I'm very thankful! THANK YOU! 😊
Hi spiffy and I really want to try these dots hooks should I get them and I love your channel and your videos and if you keep making videos I will keep watching them and what is your favorite crochet project to work on right now and favorite types of yarn to used when crocheting and keep up the great work on your UA-cam channel and keep up the great work on your crochet projects and right now I am working on my cottage core mosaic blanket and granny squares blanket and butterfly mosaic blanket and my somebunny
Hi Samantha! Thank you for your support! I appreciate you!
Right now I am really enjoying making blankets from time to time and I am working on a short sleeve cardigan or ruana for a tutorial. If I only had time to make what I would want right now, would be anything for my grandchildren.❤️ I have been wanting to do a mosaic blanket also! Get the dots hooks on sale, especially if you are unsure. I do find them a little less slick or smooth than clover amor.
Don’t worry I’m not going anywhere 💚 as long as you want to watch, I will make videos! ❤️❤️❤️🌸💙💚
I want a set so bad now....
They are fun and cute but do not hold a candle to the Clover Amour. I felt the drag on the Dots hooks immediately. And apparently there is a hole at the end to put a stitch marker.
I agree! I feel the drag on them also. After using them for a while, I do still like them but they are not as good as Clover Amour. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Thank you. I have small hands, short fingers and knife grip my hooks. I thought Amour would be for me. They make my hands hurts and the ends hur my hand in a place where my hand goes numb. I choke up on my hook so I appreciate that that hook handle go up over where the uncovered hook thumb rest is. It's that short finger thing. I do need a longer handle. My burning question is, is it possible that clover has some trade mark on the finish of their hooks? That's hard for me to believe. I can see this extra step/finish can raise the cost. I would pay more for boye hooks with the clover finish. I can't find my bates hooks and forget how long the are. With that said I do have RA and Lupus, so I need my handles covered. I used to stick those rubber pencil grips on the handles. The yarn would stick to them, the were too big for some hooks..... it's hard ti get the right fit they older we get 😊 That finish on the clover hook is everything though imo!
I am always on the hunt for the perfect hook. I too, have issues and chase comfort when crocheting. Amour used to be the perfect hook but over time, I have needed a thicker handle. Longer, but not too long etc etc the list goes on. These hooks right now for me, are almost perfect. I hope it lasts.
Thank you for watching and commenting, I enjoy extending the conversation 💙
