I would go to the local flea market and pick up a cheap metal detector or even a cheap new one. Matter of fact I have an older Whites I would sell you that has little use. It's actually a decent detector and sought after

Looked as if you were lifting all of the logs and not using your machine to lift them. Is that correct.
The log lifters are not very fast going up and back down, so when you have help or small enough logs it is more efficient to hand load.
