I hate mowing areas like that. That area is a full can of Deep Woods Off pre-walk, and you'd still need to do a tick check when you're done. Then there is all the inevitable trash you find in a right-of-way that can chip even the Tough Cut's mighty blades.
Another viewer asked about tire punctures. I've never had any (but I get new, pretty, well maintained rental units). Ventrac runs those tires at very low pressures (correct me if I'm mis-remembering, but I think it's like 2psi for duals and 4psi for singles), so ground pressure for the tractor can be as little as 4psi (same as a Bobcat T595, btw) giving you wonderful amounts of traction and the ability to pass over many things which would puncture a higher pressure tire. But, metal, nails, and thorns will puncture any tire.
Ventrac does have an "authorized" tire sealant you can add which helps prevent flats. I suspect it's very similar to Slime, which I run in all my personally owned outdoor equipment with inflatable tires. There are different formulas for tubed and tubeless tires, and the stuff is an awful mess with it's tire changing time, but worth it to me.
Now low pressure tires can spin on the rim and deflate if you are trying to tow something really heavy, which is why Ventrac doesn't really recommend hanging box blades, moldboard plows, or disk harrows on the rear 3PH.

You might have seen the Ventrac new tough cut deck video. If not in that video they say they beefed up parts of the deck for the more extreme users and that is me.

Ever had a problem with your rig heating up? We run same setup and we’re doing some heavy grass in about 100 degree heat this weekend and it started heating up.

So far no. After every job I clean out the grill filter and radiator. Its my understanding that diesel don't mind the heat like gas dose. Just change your oil more often if you notice getting hot all the time. I don't think the metal will get hot enough to melt but it will degrade your oil faster. I'd change mine early because of that.

I was wondering how often you puncture a tire.

All the time. I consider it the Ventrac biggest weakness. I have on the trailer a plug kit and hand pump at all times.

@@trailsmadeeasy Ventrac sells tire sealer on the website, do you have any experience on how that is to work with and does it work?

Do you ever find yourself needing more power?

It's nice and all, but for the price paid for the Ventrac, you could have got a nice cabed tractor and a bushog.
