Some things I forgot to mention in the video: - For the Line of Sight plugin, set your attack range to whatever your weapons range is (not every weapon has a range of ten). - Bees ID: 12823 - Solarflare orbs ID: 12826 - Jaguar Warrior ID: 12810 - Javelin Colossus ID: 12817, Range: 15 - Manticore ID: 12818, Range: 15 - Shockwave Colossus ID: 12819, Range: 15
@@itsbrianirl i do it to the point where i'm confident throwing it on and off on the atk tick of each enemy but my worry is when i have to dodge the boss's triple jab i already know i'm gonna mess up the timing even though it's simple just out of panic lmao
@@dizoce9069 the boss flick isnt too bad tbh. I've done it a few times already, and he usually gives you a good idea of when to flick. Bosses and such usually give you some sort of "tell" for stuff like that, which I like. I'm ok with intended mechanics like that. It's for normal monsters (like the waves) where it's hard to tell when when an attack is considered to be registering so I can time my flicks, those are the flicks that I hate. Especially with how inconsistent Jagex is with when enemies attack's register (think Zulrah vs Zebak. One you have to pray B4 the attack, the other B4 the attack lands on you). Like for a while I thought I could pray the Shockwave Colossus B4 it lands, but turns out it registers as he's starting his attack animation. Stuff like that I hate. It's inconsistent and unintuitive.
@@itsbrianirl yeah all of the attacks during the waves are as soon as the animation starts, so i leave prayer on for the first atk or two and find which tick the animation starts then if its like tick 2 i'll put prayer on tick 1 turn it back off on tick 2, with the manticores its whatever tick the first atk appears above his back, so if he starts with mage and the blue orb pops up on tick 4, the atk will start on the 2nd tick of 4, but yeah the first and only time i got to the boss i had quartet on and didn't have shift click walk set so i died because of the frem causing me to move into both atks lmao
The whole section with solves from 19:45 onwards and the tile markers to go with them was insanely helpful. Went from frequently getting stuck in the last half of the waves to just getting my first quiver thanks to it. Great video and explanations.
Hey man I appreciate you making this video. While most of it doesn't apply to my approach to colosseum, I still learned a lot of useful things I will use in my runs. I did want to add something I think could be helpful for people if this is the method you use. Try lazy flicking offesive prayers. You will likely save prayer by killing monsters faster and still have the safety net of your over heads. If you are using the visual metronome, just remember what tick your attack is on and turn the prayer on one tick before. As soon as the tick for your attack comes up, just turn it off. It's worth trying.
Terrific video!. I chuckled many times at your obvious frustrations of the lessons you’ve learnt along the way as I have also experienced the same things and don’t yet have the greatest gear. Keep it up 👍🏻
Best guide I’ve seen so far for the technical stuff and the plugins are handy! The only thing I was having trouble with was the wiggle, never wanted to give in for me
More or less yeah :/ It’s a lot easier to deal with in the 2nd half of the waves since all the npc’s are bigger (3x3) and thus make it easier to trap them behind pillars. It’s when it happens during the first half that makes it rough. This is why waves 5 & 6 tend to feel so rough, because all attack types get spawned with some of them being small (harder to trap). After a while you just start to learn to keep an eye on those tiles so you can immediately start transitioning to a different pillar.
Great guide! I made it to wave 9 following some of these tips but unfortunately had lions spawn on a and b tiles and didn't make it to the south pillar in time. Good luck with your colosseum runs
So for double lions, you usually dont have to worry about running to a different pillar if it's just those two (you can ofc if it helps). They dont actually attack at the same time (despite charging up at the same time initially), and they actually take turns attacking. They always wait for one to finish attacking before the other attacks. They always have the same pattern too for both, so you can go about it as if you're just fighting one of them. You just have to flick more often instead of every 5 ticks waiting for them to charge up.
Thanks for the reply! I meant the edit in middle/right side of the screen @ 2:47 in vid where the mage dmg %, current spellbook, melee str, range str, weight, prayer bonus etc is displayed alongside your worn items in the worn items tab
@DayOneLux oooh, that’s the Equipment Screenshot plugin! One of my favorites. It lets you save a screenshot of your inventory and worn gear to your clipboard so you can paste it later. I use it all the time when showing learners for Raids what type of gear to use and such in Discord
Only guide I’m watching now this got me from trouble at wave 2 to several wave 7s just my own dumb mistakes and misclicks now! Easiest to follow and simple methods thanks!
Thanks for the guide, about to try put it all into action! My only question is, when do you use melee? Unless I missed it I don't think I saw you melee at all despite having a substantial melee switch Edit: I mean with your torva setup, not the guthans. I'm in a mix of bandos and torva so not using guthans to heal. After watching the guide I'm not sure when I'm actually supposed to switch gear tho, other than just tanking when panic running to another pillar? Anyway, thanks!
You use Melee for the Boss. You can use it too for the waves (usually done after your first KC), but my setup in the video is just there for the boss. Aside from Tanking, Using mainly Mage is easiest/recommended for 1st kc, and then afterwards learn to use mainly melee.
Happy to hear it! I make videos whenever I feel like it, so if there’s something you’d like some advice or guide for (in a video), let me know and I’ll keep it in mind for next time (:
Thanks for the content my dude. Only thing i have a problem with, unless i'm mis understanding something. With the double south spawn "the a and b" If i run to the next pillar, the reinforcements will then spawn behind the next pillar and clap you. Any advice on that please?
You either have to prayer flick (if capable) or just run to a different pillar. There’s no “solve” for bad spawns. Running to another pillar will eventually “solve” the wave for you, and sometimes you might have to run to multiple different pillars before it becomes solved
@@itsbrianirl I think I figured it out but it what I was saying I get confused on for ex say I’m behind the Pilar and I have a ranger then 2 shock waves I’m not understanding how to get them off ticked idk what tiles to stand on for what to see me first I had a friend record his run last night and it helped me a lot well his video and your I get a chance to try it today for a few hours sadly I get like 6 hours a week to play lol so it can be rough for me.
Just to reiterate: it took me over 150+ attempts, over 100+ deaths, 60+ Mil GP in death costs, and a couple months of constant grinding before I started to get the hang of the waves, especially as someone who’s never completed the Inferno. It’s gonna be hard, you’re gonna die a lot, and it’ll take a while. It’s just part of the learning process and there’s nothing wrong with dying (: The grind is a marathon, not a sprint, so as long as you keep at it you’ll eventually get it. You’re in a much better spot than I was with my video to help and your friend’s help to expedite the process, so just go at your own pace. I just got my first quiver a couple weeks ago if that says anything (easy boss guide coming soon).
