6 months sober and chose to put the alcohol back in my mouth. After 1 night (drank 16 beers) still feeling the brain fog 6 days later and major lack of motivation, which was not present in sobriety. wtf is this good for again, i didnt even enjoy it. The house is a mess too, which was always clean. What a lie
It’s so crazy how drugs affect your brain and your body! We have to continue changing the culture around alcohol so that more and more people can wake up to the detrimental effects of it. Stopping alcohol consumption will be one of the best life decisions you've ever made. Thank you so much for sharing this useful information Kevin!❤👍
It’s wild how productive I am now I’m off alcohol. And it all feels natural, I just want to get more done. I think it was more that alcohol made me more lethargic than I realized. And I’m talking about being lethargic all the time, but not realizing it, even 3 or 4 days after my last drink. I’ve been off booze for 6 weeks now and I feel better and better every week. I’m surprised I’m still making “gains”!
It's hard to get off it in the beginning. The body is craving the sugar so be prepared for the "craves." Fight through the first 30 days and I promise you it gets easier but true Alcs will always have to be vigilant. The 12 steps helped me kick it twice.... had many deaths in family through the 2000s.... got so blue and fell off the wagon. I then realized I would end up like hubby who died an early death at 60, he had cancer of the everything. One of us had to stay alive for the kids, so I told him> sorry I have decided to LIVE and my faith showed me the path. You Can Do It!!! TY V2 for these vids, so needed Mate.
Our systems work so hard to keep us upright and functioning. That right there is a huge sign that something spectacular, Life Itself, has been given us. Imagine all the “workers” inside of us with brooms, vacuum cleaners and dish soap working like hell to keep house when the next day the first cup out of 25 pints hits the system. “Jesus! The idiot is doing it again!” Haha! The Human Condition is something to be reconned with, that’s for sure!
Completely agree. It takes a hell of a lot of punishment to knock a hole in our health. It's equally stunning to me that healing can happen pretty quickly. You might not get back to running on full steam, but it's a testiment again to the hardiness.
Thanks for your channel Kevin. I'm drinking much less, still falling prey once a week or so. Wanted to say that these videos are staying with me during my day especially when I'm in the grocery store and have to walk past the beer section. Or driving past a Liquor store. I'm learning that sobriety is something to be cherished. Hope your videos are helping others too.
Thank you….you finally gave me the answer to why moderate drinking for a woman is less than for a man, women’s liver is smaller!! That makes sense now. Even my cardiologist couldn’t answer that question just telling me the reader h doesn’t say why yet. I’ve read many articles giving that advice, one drink a day for a woman and two for a man, and the reason for that is never stated.
Our bodies are bloody amazing but can only take so much. 1 litre of bourbon + coke, 5 litres of wine, just a couple of my regular accomplishments as a big man. What hollow and tragic and expensive achievements. Here in Australia the Australian medical association is considering warning labels for alcohol, heres a quote "We don't need to stop drinking, we just need to get the knowledge out there … we don't want to be the fun police." The fun police? All the damage alcohol does to society is fkn fun is it. The double standards are on display. Just informs me of how insidious the 'Industry' influence is. Onwards and upwards and up your arse alcohol industry!
Before quiting , I could down a 4 pack of Guinness in 45 minutes without trying . I picked up a 4 pack zero alcohol Guinness a few days ago and savoured the taste of one can that lasted an hour . A really good alternative to the real stuff
That's it. I've had some 0/0 Guinness when I was back home in Ireland, but couldn't do more than two. And as you say, it's a pleasure to just enjoy the taste...acquired as it may be haha
Yep. I've done more. I'm a big bloke. Over a full day, 2 to 3 pints an hour used to be easy for me. We're talking a full day spent between different pubs. 25 pints or more. Some of my mates were half the size of me and managed the same amounts.
In my prime I drank 24 beers a day for several years, when that wouldn’t do it I switched to strictly bourbon, about 3 pints a day. One morning I woke up completely disoriented in a motel, had no idea how I ended up there, that was it for me I’m 2 months sober and finally starting to feel normal. I take it one day at a time but I pray I never touch the Shite again

👍👍👍👍sage advice. I think that I spelled sage wrong.

Maybe people are afraid of the “equality gestapo” to say such a thing 😅. Facts are facts. Knowledge is power.
Thank You …

Life is more fun off alcohol. In a drinking “career”, you have moments of fun at the start, but in my last year of drink, it was just misery.

25 pints in 1 day? Thats 14 Liters, thats insane, are you really sure about that number?
the number really doesn’t matter if you think about it
