the 1.5 and 2.0 are not wrx's though, they are just impreza's i think. the wrx has only the 2.5l making +-230hp, the Sti has also a 2.5l like the wrx but makes around 280hp i could be wrong though.
Nice review. I believe I saw this car for sale online in NI. I know you said these cars aren't great on mpg but what kind of figures is your wrx returning? And is it true that the 2.5 litre hawkeye is prone to problems when compared to the earlier 2.0 which featured in the blobeye model?

Regarding the figures, owner reports 25-28 mpg for mixed driving or low-20s if you like to floor it once in a while. Regarding the engine, EJ20 of previous Imprezas seems to be a very reliable unit but I'm not too sure about EJ25 as I don't have much experience with them but from what the owner said he had no issues with it.

1. 2.0T nor 2.5 N/A were never available in Europe, only 1.5 N/A (R), 2.0 N/A (RX) and 2.5T (WRX/WRX STi). 2. 2.5 Turbo replaced 2.0 Turbo in 2006- 2.0T Hawkeye Impreza was never available in any part of the world 3. 2.5T has same horsepower as 2.0T (227-230 depends on websites) but vastly different torque figures.

yes, this may be right, in Europe hawkeye was released in late 2005 but still counted as a 2005 model along with late blobeye models.

my man has some wrong information, the sti came with the 2.5 turbo and the wrx came with the 2.0 turbo, not a NA 2.0L
For the 05+ model year (Hawkeye onwards) both WRX and STi came with 2.5T, at least here in Europe
