- Lost Creek State Park located in Anaconda, Montana is this secret amazing campground with only 14 rustic campsites. It's situated in a beautiful canyon with rushing water and a 53 foot waterfall. This is PART THREE of our 10 states in 14 days trip.

It looks awesome! I stayed in a spot similar to this just outside the north rim of the Grand Canyon.
Dpuck Fishing and Outdoors Grand Canyon is on our list for sure...but there are so many amazing spots close to home to discover too.

I basically grew up in the 50s and 60s camping and fishing and climbing in that little canyon, with my three brothers and four sisters, my mom and dad, and--occasionally--my grandpa.
And yes, it was special and golden, those years.

I'm going to Montana next month. First week of August. I'm traveling to about 6 states. Montana is one. I'm looking for similar. This will be on my way down from glacier. Do you need a permit to just camp for the night?
Definitely go check it out...incredibly beautiful! It was $14 cash for the night you just place it in the envelope and leave the extra tag on your site . Beautiful spot!! Make sure you don’t go during bear mating season! He tried to mate with his wife during mating season when then are the most vicious and dominant, but yea, is that creek Fresh water?
It is fresh water….there is a beautiful waterfall in this area too.
Back in the 50s and 60s, I regularly drank right from Lost Creek. Tasted great! 👴

As a kid-to-a-teen, my family used to picnic/camp/fish/mountain climb every summer in Lost Creek Canyon. Back then, the road was, um, rustic. As in, my dad's car got high-centered on a boulder in the middle of the road.
Best place to put your beer is just below the waterfall... it's near freezing there year round.
