I can't tell what you did with your leftovers but when I was in the Philippines and would eat alone, many times the food serving is too much for one person. Thus, I would have a lot of leftovers. What I would do is have the server bag it "to go" and would hand it to the first street person (homeless) I see and there is a lot of them by just walking outside. Especially fried rice since it's a meal within itself. If you have not done this since I can't tell from this video. Please take your clean leftover food and help feed someone hungry especially street children. Thank you.
Glad that someone made this blog. I used to eat there from 1978 to 1979 because our Pal office was nearby. My favorite is beef rice. It melted in my tongue when I ate it. Super delicious though sanitation of the cooks and kitchen were not at par with the standards. He he he!

He was acquainted with the Chinese owners before then until it was inherited by the children and grandchildren afterwards. You know i wish could say the same for their other branches. The one in Festival mall Alabang SUCKS big time. For the three times i've dined there, my beef brisket noodles was always served tepid! Noodle-soup dishes is always to be served piping hot! Their branch in President's ave Parañaque though tries their best to replicate the quality of the dishes in the Original branch.
I love your content sir marshall! Food and culture is my passion too. Hoping to meet you someday sir! I can show you around the best place here in Manila, plus the history too!
UST is definitely a place I take travelers to when I was living in a hostel in Manila. But that was before the pandemic happened. Love it how Natural you act.
My Dad used to take me there at Toho Antigua in the late 1960's! For whatever reason I like it better there than the nearby San Jacinto Restaurant. Anybody know if San Jacinto still exist in that place?

Maybe the reason you couldn’t go into UST is because its still partially closed due to pandemic. Even students are still not allowed. But hopefully they’ll open it soon and maybe you can go for a visit. Amazing campus!
if you want to order whole steamed fish, you want to go to restaurants with fish aquariums in them..not in places like that. they frozen fish and not live fish.
No way that the recipe is the same a hundred years back since cream dory or pangasius is a newly introduced fish in the Philippine market. But just the same thanks for this video and the well researched trivia I enjoy watching your videos.
