Both are equal in terms of the capability of dealing damage but attack speed is more vesatile and more adaptive and can distribute its damage WAY BETTER ...
Say that to the Fortified BAD that wasn't popped by the 10x Attack Speed, while the 10x Damage popped it. You don't need versatility with 10x Damage, you just need Spirit of the Forest, MAD and a bunch of towers with very fast attack speed. This far surpasses any damage the 10x Attack Speed could ever DREAM to achieve. 10x Attack Speed was being carried by stuns and it couldn't do anything to BADs other than hope it had enough damage. Still, I'd love to see how that would change if the 10x Atk Speed bought a MAD or more useful towers other than Energizer.

But you are right there are exceptions like stuns ( damage does not affect it ) and DOTs ( theoretically it should not be different because 10x attack speed should tick in 1/10 of the normal time ). The one thing that makes 10x attack speed superior is: Example: The normal tower shoots once every 10 second and does 1 damage.The Bloon has 15 hp and needs 18 seconds to get all the way through. 10x damage could shoot once if it had cooldown at the beginning and would then do 10 damage to the bloon. 10x attack speed could shoot 17/18 times if it had cooldown at the beginning and would defeat the bloon. Also damage distribution is a thing: Example:A tower can normally shoot 5 times a round. 10x damage could have a loss of his damage he could do becauss the bloon hes shooting has low hp already = damage loss This is a thing that 10x attack speed does not have as big problems with. In the End the one thing that could/would destroy x times attack speed is LAG.😅
Theres alot of things that made me feel pain in this video. Like tewty going for glave lord insted of perma charge and saber glaive lord placement. Also not going for homeland defence and carpet of spike is such a blunder
I, before watching the video, will say... Attack speed. Reason being, while both should end up with the same dps, with more damage, a lot of it gets wasted. For example, say you need 5x more damage to destroy a certain bloon in a second. With more damage, you will still do it in a second, but waste half of the boost, while more speed does it in half a second, and starts then attacking next bloon immediately after. Of course exception to this would be towers that can't attack the same bloon more than once, or destroy everything inside upon popping the outer layer.
Overdamage doesn't really matter as soon as you get beyond the one shot area, which means round 80. If there was no limit on Attack speed(there is a HARD coded limit due to the tick speed(no mod can change this since its a problem of the coding language)) it would still be better due to special effects. EG Bloon crush won't benefit much from 10x damage, but 10x speed made it the MVP of Saber's strat. Same with BMA
Always attack speed. Damage can overkill, attackspeed doesnt. And more projectiles= more effective pierce. On top of the same single targer dps you gain better aoe dps and often you dont need high dmg in those situations.
The problem is that attack speed is almost always better than damage. The only way damage would be better is if you're going for one-shot towers like first strikes. Attack speed also would create way more lag. Edit: Abilities will probably also be better with 10x damage
Damage is still way better you just need aoe attacks like bomb or mortar or pierce like the anti bloon since ALL effected bloons will take the 10x damage then they are equal

I'm honestly surprised that people aren't talking about this. Sabre didn't get Spirit of the Forest so he wasn't getting the extra $1000 per round. Despite this he still tied with Tewtiy. If he had all that extra money he would have easily beat the fortified BAD on round 200 It was really interesting seeing both of their strategies though. Great video!

The winner would be Tewtiy because, unlike Sabre, Tewtiy popped the F-BAD layer as a few F-DDT passed the finish line, while for Sabre, he barely even damaged the F-BAD layer. So, even though they both lost (And basically tied), Tewtiy technically won.
Just by intuition, 10x attack speed is better than 10x damage purely because of buffing mechanics, specifically the alchemist. Let's say for example that the buff gives +1 damage to every shot. For a 10x damage tower that originally deals 1 damage, a single shot will now deal 10 + 1 = 11 damage. However, if the same buff is given to a 10x attack speed tower, then each shot now deals 1 + 1 = 2 damage, which when we multiply by 10, results in 20 damage.
Attack speed it good but when you use that same idea that alchemist adds +1 dmg (or more), it wont work for high damage towers. Yes a dart monkey would be buffed by the extreme by that combination but a M.A.D wouldn’t get that same buff since hundreds of dmg added by one is less then a percent added dps. 10 times damage in this case also may not have been additive but literal multiplication, which then means any already powerful tower would be even more efficient then the ones that attack faster(with the exception of super monkey paths). Lad thing to mention is that the scaling of the bloons increase exponentially, which makes them move faster, but mostly effects the Moab hp, which 10 times dmg would keep up with(though the speed may cause that to be false).
For 10x attack speed the best way to win in my opinion is focus only on B.A.D defense. Bloonmaster alchemist solos everything but Bads so making a strat based on destroying bads the quickest may beat out 10x damage. 10x damage is easier surprised tewity didn’t win

those who are confused about how they stayed on almost the same round the whole game is that if something does 1 damage and has a 1 sec cooldown with 10x faster attack speed it would do 10 damege per second example 1s whould have 10 attacks in a sec witch would make 10damage per second while the 10x damage would do 1 attack per sec that whould do 10 damage so they whould both do the same damage per second sorry for bad grammer btw
10x attack speed and 10x damage are extremely similar. The only thing that matters is tower choice and placement, basically saying the better player will win.

10x attack speed and 10x damage are extremely similar. The only thing that matters is tower choice and placement, basically saying the better player will win.
