Damage and attack speed are some of the most important stats a tower in btd 6 can have. But if you could have one of them ten times more than the other, which one would you want? Today, Sabre and Tewtiy put 10 times damage up against 10 times attack speed to find out which one is more powerful!

The fact that sabre says that bloon crush is hot garbage but if he didnt have it he was already DEAD
Both are equal in terms of the capability of dealing damage but attack speed is more vesatile and more adaptive and can distribute its damage WAY BETTER ...

The problem is that attack speed is almost always better than damage. The only way damage would be better is if you're going for one-shot towers like first strikes. Attack speed also would create way more lag.
Edit: Abilities will probably also be better with 10x damage
Damage is still way better you just need aoe attacks like bomb or mortar or pierce like the anti bloon since ALL effected bloons will take the 10x damage then they are equal

Also damage and speed do the same DPS in that scenario. Damage does 10x damage 1 time and speed does 1x damage 10 times in the same amount of time

Tewtiy's placement of the Ray of Doom had me itching to replace it the entire video.
I, before watching the video, will say... Attack speed. Reason being, while both should end up with the same dps, with more damage, a lot of it gets wasted. For example, say you need 5x more damage to destroy a certain bloon in a second. With more damage, you will still do it in a second, but waste half of the boost, while more speed does it in half a second, and starts then attacking next bloon immediately after.
Of course exception to this would be towers that can't attack the same bloon more than once, or destroy everything inside upon popping the outer layer.
Overdamage doesn't really matter as soon as you get beyond the one shot area, which means round 80. If there was no limit on Attack speed(there is a HARD coded limit due to the tick speed(no mod can change this since its a problem of the coding language)) it would still be better due to special effects. EG Bloon crush won't benefit much from 10x damage, but 10x speed made it the MVP of Saber's strat. Same with BMA
Ryan technically won, because he was able to pop the bad and died to the DDT’s and saber just died completely to the bad

Elite Defender cannot gain more attack speed than infinite.
So There is technically no limit

Always attack speed. Damage can overkill, attackspeed doesnt. And more projectiles= more effective pierce. On top of the same single targer dps you gain better aoe dps and often you dont need high dmg in those situations.

The correct answer to what benefits most from x10 damage are the biggest one with burny stuff and a M.A.D
i also think a 2-5-0 sub would 1 shot most moabs,bfbs, and possibly zomgs

I thing the spirit of the forest does benefit from damage boosting but not speed I tested it in sandbox ( I'm talking about the ground vines)
I'm honestly surprised that people aren't talking about this. Sabre didn't get Spirit of the Forest so he wasn't getting the extra $1000 per round. Despite this he still tied with Tewtiy. If he had all that extra money he would have easily beat the fortified BAD on round 200

For 10x attack speed the best way to win in my opinion is focus only on B.A.D defense. Bloonmaster alchemist solos everything but Bads so making a strat based on destroying bads the quickest may beat out 10x damage. 10x damage is easier surprised tewity didn’t win
I like to say Tewtiy won only because he popped the Fortified B.A.D and it was further away from the exit, but the DDTs were just too fast so they leaked.

It's actually not surprising how close it was. Both of you are popping the balloons pretty much instantly so at the same rate.

It was multiplied by 10 not added so things with high damage like MAD would have dealt like 5,000 damage per hit
Bloon master alchemist with 10x attack speed goes crazy… Only issue would be the outer layer of a bad, but i think they restricted it because of rubber to gold.
The winner would be Tewtiy because, unlike Sabre, Tewtiy popped the F-BAD layer as a few F-DDT passed the finish line, while for Sabre, he barely even damaged the F-BAD layer. So, even though they both lost (And basically tied), Tewtiy technically won.

1- more of the dps can be used by 100% pierce, especially early game
2- more attack speed means more bloon effects and better monkey buffing

10x attack speed and 10x damage are extremely similar. The only thing that matters is tower choice and placement, basically saying the better player will win.
those who are confused about how they stayed on almost the same round the whole game is
that if something does 1 damage and has a 1 sec cooldown with 10x faster attack speed it would do 10 damege per second
example
1s whould have 10 attacks in a sec witch would make 10damage per second
while the 10x damage
would do 1 attack per sec that whould do 10 damage
so they whould both do the same damage per second

Higher speed's advantage is obvious
Higher attack damage is also very good cause its 10 times & not +10. So towers with higher base damage get more of a boost
I think that the strategy wouldn't differ that much because say you have MAD, both would have a 10x damage mad, one is just one strong attack, but one is 10x amount of attacks
That's true for a lot of towers, but not all of them. Most notably is the glue gunner and ice monkey. Neither can deal damage to the bloons multiple times (with caveats like refreeze and the whole DOT aspect of glue gunner), so making the single strike they get that much stronger is indeed a very powerful buff relative to the attack speed. Towers that already attack super fast or just have such short range that they can only attack one or two times per bloon will also inherently benefit more. The biggest mistake Tewtiy made was not getting pre-emptive strike, which shoots one missile at every moab-class bloon that spawns. It's already a moderately weak tower with high attack speed, but the ability is on another level of broken when buffed with 10x damage. That buff basically turns it into the Nautic Siege Core's variant of the pre-emptive strike ability.
@@benrockefeller6334 I'd also like to argue that Tewity had way more pops I believe. He was also actually able to pop the Fortified B.A.D on round 200. Sabre also only really got far because of Bloon Crush pushing back and stunning the moab-class bloons.
@@benrockefeller6334 But for 10x speed the Bloon Crush made it so that any non BAD was a non problem, and BMA would have been crazy(at the end, you don't want him early since he makes you LOSE money)
@@normalchannel2185 Non-BADs weren't really a problem in general for either side. As Tewtiy acknowledged at the end, he had the ability to wipe the bloons out after the BAD popped, but his own mismanagement of abilities made it so that he lost a fight that he otherwise had won. Don't get me wrong, bloon crush and BMA definitely benefit from 10x attack speed much more than 10x damage, but in this instance, I'm not sure that BMA would've helped, as BMA doesn't affect BADs either, and that's what killed Sabre.
@benrockefeller6334 overall, I think Saber mismanaged his strat. For example, Pop and Awe isn't worth buying with 10x speed.
Technically 10x attack speed and 10x damage gets the same amount of dps so technically its just who plays the best i really dont think i need to explain this its really easy to understand snd i hope tewbre understood this when making the video

The overall dps increase is the same, but attack speed is better since not every balloon is going to take the full damage of the 10x shot. Meaning the boosted dmg is wasting part of its dps, while the attack speed is maximizing.

@@thePunMaster52 Yeah, but there are a couple other drawbacks to each.
Extra damage has the drawback of doing more damage than needed to pop a bloon, resulting in list damage. That problem is easy less of a problem in later rounds. It also doesn't get to use the other special effects such as stuns and blowbacks.
Extra attack speed mainly might just not get the full benefit from most abilities and passives. I'm not entirely sure if this is true, but it would make sense if things like maelstrom or SOTF didn't get the speed boost.

Best tower for X10 damage would be Preemptive Strike.
Super britle would be OP with 10x damage as support teamed with something with high single hit damage as blooncrush or inferno ring.
Just by intuition, 10x attack speed is better than 10x damage purely because of buffing mechanics, specifically the alchemist. Let's say for example that the buff gives +1 damage to every shot. For a 10x damage tower that originally deals 1 damage, a single shot will now deal 10 + 1 = 11 damage. However, if the same buff is given to a 10x attack speed tower, then each shot now deals 1 + 1 = 2 damage, which when we multiply by 10, results in 20 damage.
Attack speed it good but when you use that same idea that alchemist adds +1 dmg (or more), it wont work for high damage towers. Yes a dart monkey would be buffed by the extreme by that combination but a M.A.D wouldn’t get that same buff since hundreds of dmg added by one is less then a percent added dps. 10 times damage in this case also may not have been additive but literal multiplication, which then means any already powerful tower would be even more efficient then the ones that attack faster(with the exception of super monkey paths). Lad thing to mention is that the scaling of the bloons increase exponentially, which makes them move faster, but mostly effects the Moab hp, which 10 times dmg would keep up with(though the speed may cause that to be false).
I have a challenge one of you guys have (x10 attack speed and x20 range) and the other has (x10 damage x10 attack speed but divide 10 range) pls do this it will be cool to watch

Wouldnt it do the same thing tho.
For example lets say super monkey does 10 darts per second for 1 second for 10dps. 10x dmg makes it do 100 dps. 10x attack speed also makes it 100dps. The only exceptions would be glitches and things like glue.
