so happy they're doing this, its basically doctor who confidential :D
But a shit version
To save money on BBC three basically
Nope BBC three is going down the drain
DWC had ran for 6 years and they though the show has nothing else to tell people so they cut it (also it cost lots of money)
It has been kind off "replaced" with Doctor Who Extra a really bad 10 minute behind the scenes which really talks down to the viewer and its basically for children
Wow. The Daleks are actually threatening again.
These first 2 episodes have been brilliant and a drastic improvement from the last series.
Please keep it up!
Great episode! The Daleks actually felt evil again with the fight scenes. Also Capaldi is definitely a great Doctor!
Would anyone like a Jelly Baby?
It should calm your nerves from watching all that Dalek action...
I know I would...
There are so many people here complaining, it's actually so sickening.. some people are just too hard to please..
Thats Doctor Who for you. Most shows can say bad ep, or good ep. Doctor Who episodes usually divide the fanbase.
One of my favorite episodes ever. Capaldi's Doctor is a complete asshole... And I love that! He's perfect.
how do you think of him now?
just bring back doctor who confidential already
Blue Whovian It wasn't Doctor Who confidential was a proper TV show with each episode being shown after the DW episode it was about on BBC3 and it was basically the length of full doctor who episode this is more like a DVD extra more than anything else or an exclusive that you would see on The One Show or Blue Peter.
I hope we bump into Rusty again! He's an awesome character!
6:46 Are they going to kiss?
HE DOESN'T SAY SPOILERS!!!!...... River Song is unimpressed
One of the best Dalek stories in ages, loved it!!
I laughed so hard when Clara slapped the Doctor.
Alternate dimension when the Daleks r good. Rlly good story idea actually, could see the doctor getting paranoid about them thinking there evil but they just aren’t, could even see a evil version of the doctor to go by them, would be an awesome story to see.
It happened to the 7th Doctor in the novel from the "12 doctors, 12 stories" box. But the idea put on screen would be awesome!
Did anyone notice that there's a picture of the TARDIS in the maths book? at 5:03
The first time i saw the daleks was in the episode where cybermen meet the cult of skaro. At that point I found the cybermen far more scary because of the very real death that they presented in the conversion process.
in doomsday episode with Tenant?
Thank you for posting the Doctor Who Extra on UA-cam!
This needs to have been fact checked. Daleks could fly before Eccleston. Eleven didn't even remotely defeat the Daleks in "VICTORY Of The Daleks", which was entirely about them winning, and restoring their empire.
They're trying to recon the Paradigm daleks
***** I believe they also had a thicker extra "base" as well.
***** In their first episode they could only move on tracks around their own city, then in the earth invasion they gained mobility and it grew onward from there, Remembrance of the Daleks was when they started being able to elevate themselves.
Thanks for making this video available to all countries! ;) nice episode btw. Especially when the dalek said "you are a good dalek" to the doctor.
And The Daleks are Back!!!!! Great episode!!!!! Please write more Phil Ford! You're awesome!!!!!!!!
By far one of the best episodes!! This season is AMAZING
Thank you so much BBC for making the Doctor Who Extra available worldwide.
AWESOME ! the episode was just fantastic!!!
Thank you soooooo much for uploading this!
K...dude doing the Dalek voice...so cool to see!
I first saw him in the Dr Who episode of The Weakest Link. He's actually quite charming and witty.
I like this Danny Pink character. I can't wait to see his story develop :)
Thank you for making this visible worldwide..
Funny thing about the idea of a 'good Dalek': The Tenth Doctor believed Daleks could change and urged them to do so in _Daleks in Manhattan_, while the Eleventh Doctor didn't share this belief. I wonder what the Twelfth Doctor will think of them.
8:20
Sorry, but Daleks were implied to be able to elevate since "The Chase" and were seen flying up stairs in "Remembrance of the Daleks".
I saw the episode it was great. my thoughts on Danny is that he has PTSD, and that Rusty missed the obvious about being alive - everyone has hatred in them, but it is how we react/respond to that urge that defines us. The daleks believe that hatred is a good thing, while everyone else sees it as something to be controlled.
"So I suggest you take a deep breath, we're going to take you with us" NO!!! Don't take a deap breath, you'll explode! Listen to the Doctor, don't be lasagne
The latest Dalek design is so gorgeous. Well done BBC lads 👏👍
Must say I did enjoy the flashbacks to The Stolen Earth/Journey's End in this episode
This was such a good episode!
I know right?
That line the Dalek has at the end "I am not a good Dalek, YOU are a good Dalek" I instantly thought back to The 9th Doctor's dialogue with that other one where he screams at it and it responds with "You would make a good Dalek".
It was just so upsetting to me or something I dunno lol
Because number 12 was already questioning who he was at this season's start, so to think he might be heading down that darker path made me wonder what the rest of his time would be like.
keero kamiya
I think the episode echoed the 9th Doctor on purpose. It is a brilliant and slightly terrifying idea that the Doctor is arguably just as bad as his worst enemies. I can't wait to see how they explore this concept through Capaldi's time.
Yeah, he might just end up being my favorite one.
i think this will be an exciting episode, cant wait to see it...
The next modification to the Daleks should be make the Daleks gold! And if they bring the Imperial Daleks back they should make them silver! So that way it'd suit the rivalry!
Supreme Daleks VS Imperial Daleks!
(Gold Daleks VS Silver Daleks)
1:31 Them being miniaturized and then put inside a Dalek reminds me of the 1977 Tom Baker serial "The Invisible Enemy" where duplicates of the Fourth Doctor and Leela are created, miniaturized and then enter the body of the real Fourth Doctor.
Haven't seen this episode yet? Have you seen 'Dalek' and 'Journey Into The Center of The Tardis?' Mix the generic "spaceship in peril, crew runs from enemy and hides behind door waiting for doctor' story, and 'the doctor isn't always good' thing, you have the entire story.
8:45
Not terrifying, really. More like terrifyingly embarrassing!
Awesome episode though. I love these Extras. Much better than the Behind the Lens. One step closer to Confidential.
best episode that i saw from the first six or so of series 8 that i watched when they originally aired on television last year plus it is a part of the dvd that i bought yesterday for myself as a birthday present in regards to and for all things DALEK at a local Wal-mart hope2pray sometime next month that i am able to purchase the dvd that concerns all things CYBERMAN at my local HMV i said it once and i will say it again #12 is shaping up to be my all time fave doctor to and for my generation
08:45 Finally, a Spiderman / Doctor Who / New Amsterdam crossover!
I think the writing of this episode was a bit off - I feel like they should have focused primarily on the theme of being a soldier and drawn parallels between characters; the Dalek is a soldier that is failing to carry out his duty, Danny is an ex-soldier that is recuperating, Journey is trying to be best soldier she can, and the Doctor is trying to forget he ever was a soldier. Wow, I've typed soldier a lot...
Thank God they put this on You Tube. iPlayer is shit.
it was one of the best episodes i loved how we could see the inside of the dalek
Also I miss Simon Pegg as narrator, like he did in season 1 of Doctor Who Confidential.
I really want to like this series but it hasn't had the wow factor yet. I don't know what to make of Capaldi's doctor yet either. We keep seeing glimpses of this dark side that the other doctors didn't have (or more likely were very good at hiding) which is a total tease. And I'm quite intrigued by Danny Pink... I think this series has been a bit of a slow starter but it has the makings of something awesome. The next episode looks like it's gonna be a good one though. Such a tease!
Saw it late, still liked it. Can't wait for the cybermen to return
Loved it!! But leave the Daleks for a bit now?
5:03 Tardis in the school Maths book 😅😅
"The Doctor quickly ended their reign with a biscuit".... if memory serves, that's not even *close* to what happened... they almost succeeded in blowing up the planet by using Bracewell as a bomb, and disappeared into time in the ensuing chaos... they went on to establish their own parliament and everything...
I know right. Where the hell did "he ended their reign with a biscuit" come from
It's a joke.
They said 'with the aid of a biscuit' and this was most likely for added humor.
The biscuit did help, too, because the Daleks genuinely believed that it was a self destruct button for a while.
Corellian Smuggler i think it was a jammie dodger😄
I liked Rusty won't spoil it for anyone but what happened in this episode gives the possibility of turning things on its head.
The Daleks are my favourite villains in Doctor Who.
I want my own Jenna Coleman
So they really did shrink down the cast and crew? That's amazing, but what blows my mind even more is that the set and props people had to construct a Dalek suit for them to run around in! How intricate can you get? Especially with all the smoke effects! But I bet those were shrunk down too, huh.
Into the Dalek - Doctor Who Extra: Series 1 Episode 2 (2014) - BBC.
"It's no surprise that they managed to blast their way into this series too." Well, since BBC don't own the rights to the Daleks and have to use them in every series we expected them to show up.
I wish the BBC would just buy the rights from the Nation Estate so we don't have to see them every series. I know the Nation Estate would probably charge an unbelievable amount for the rights, but surely the BBC even think the Daleks need a little break.
I wish phil ford writes more episodes
what an underrated episode i know Peter Capaldi isnt everyones favorite dr but lets be honest Peter Capaldis a great doctor and a fine person the writingjust started to go down unfortunantly
I felt the Daleks had a retro kind of twist during this episode. They seemed to me more energetic and shouty
I felt the same. They sounded and somehow looked more classic. I couldn't really put my finger on it, but I felt the same. Obviously all of the "seek locate destroy" stuff is very classic series, but they just seemed generally classicy. If that's a word.
peter capaldi
There should have been a behind the scenes of the slap. I cracked up so hard when she just went for it and hit him right across the face.
Apperantly I need to brush up my english 'cause I'm pretty sure I heard that this would be available on iPlayer exclusively. Don't get me wrong, because now I can see it in Belgium and stuff, but why does +BBC call it exclusive? Get the concept guys.
Don't complain. As an American, I'm glad they made it available worldwide.
Doctor Who Fan I normally couldn't see it on iPlayer either, but I just want to point out it's ridiculous calling it exclusive but then uploading it on UA-cam a couple of moments later.
This is what Access All Area’s should be, not just the cast answering useless questions.
The first episode for Peter Capaldi was the clockwork men similar to the episode "The Girl in the Fireplace",which was much better. Now we have a rehash/mash of the movie "Fantastic Voyage".Granted there were some good aspects of both of these stories but, Steven Moffat has gotten lazy with his writing.I think Peter Capaldi will make a good doctor, but he and Jenna Coleman need better stories than these! To end this,I like the new opening title sequence but the new arrangement of the music just isn't right, hope things will improve!
i like how Danny defied all the stereotypes. a real normal guy. cool.
+3000agape To an extent.
Awesome!
There should be a plot twist in an alternate universe where the daleks are good
I've started really late with Doctor Who and still have to watch season 7. (I'm afraid to watch the end of the Ponds :D)
But from what I've seen here, I can't understand the hate for the new episodes. Or Peter. He seems like a really fine actor and Doctor to me.
0304dina Peter is great and so was the new season. You'll understand as time goes on that the fanbase is always split and unhappy about something. The transition from Ten to Eleven was one of the worst because it wasn't just about people still being attached to Ten, it was also the change from RTD to Moffat.
Either way the show is as popular as ever. In fact, probably even more so. Just let the haters simmer
Actually, you're spot on. Maybe u should've wrote it. LoL
I enjoyed the episode but I'm fearing that my fears are coming true because I just don't feel Capaldi as the Doctor and just doesn't click with Clara.
And yeah I know part of the story is for us to decide for ourselves what the Doctor is like or is becoming like, but Capaldi is just missing that element that makes me want to watch and I never had that with previous Doctors.
Yes, the Doctor's best victory against the Daleks was in 'Victory of the Daleks', where the Daleks revived their race, escaped, and formed a massive, invincible Empire.
Who wrote this video?!
where can i watch this ep?
I think the new season is very promising, as well as Peter Capaldi, who so far is an incredible Doctor. I just hope the Dalek storyarc ends soon because it feels over-streched and some new evil entity-big Doctor enemy appears soon...
Did anyone read the 50th Anniversary Collection? There was a story in that called 'The Ripple Effect' it's where the universe is rewritten and the daleks are all good but the Doctor just keeps trying to prove that they're still bad. It was pretty dang good.
P.S I thought this episode was really good I don't know what's wrong with everyone here, except that it did borrow a bit from 'Dalek.'
the daleks don't scare my children
the 1st extra isn't available in all countries, but this one is. wtf...? so does this mean that from now on everyone can watch the extras on you tube - except for the 1st one? i'm so confused.
I'm starting to think it was by accident and they forgot to set it to u.k only.
They they are contractually obliged
oh i do like peter as the doctor i do hope we see him play the doctor as a more serious one. i mean different like christian bale was to adam west in batman
I'm sorry
WHAT THE HELL ?!?
The dalek first flew up stairs in Remembrance of the Daleks !
And you forget the dalek civil war
Which Episode is it?
It says it in the video title haha
Steven Moffat was asked about an idea for a video game, does that mean we are bound to see another Doctor Who game?
5:02 It's the TARDIS O_O
I think you guys forgot to change it to UK only :D
Doctor Who belongs to the BBC Studios.
wasn't there also a classic episode with something inside the dalek?
So either the Daleks got really crap at aiming over the years or Rusty is MLG as hell because the massive group couldn't take out one group of people, yet Rusty took on like ten Daleks and landed every single shot.
It's typical for action scenes, bad guys suck at shooting the good guys, hero gets every shot.
I want confidential back, now!
on 3:38 where are the cables attached to cause they dont were harnesses
Looks like the same place as the hospital in Torchwood when Gwen's dad had the heart attack?!
Probably was
Series 1?
The valeyard could still be the 12th incarnation, just in this second set of new regenerations?
No. The Valeyard is a separate being.
He's between his 12 and finale incarnation so between David Tennant (after journey's end) and 24th doctor
Does anyone else think that the dalek at the end is dalek khann (the dalek from series 4)
they'll more than likely kill off Danny pink at some point
my grandmothers cousin is the 13th doctor
EXTERMINATE !!!!!!! Even in Star Wars, jedi will be affaid of those robots/monster :)
That exterminate at the beginning if anyone else has noticed...
Guys, you do realise when he is talking about the 11th ending the daleks' reign he means their reign over earth. Seriously, learn how to understand things...
This episode was ok
I think its the daleks being overused
Least its not complicated anymore
Coz if it does moffat should get sacked
The daleks have to come back every year or they loses the rights
Wot do you mean they lose the rights. Explain plz
***** Terry Nation created the Daleks back in 1963, and he shared the owned rights to them. When he died in 1997, his agent now administers those rights, and claims that if the Daleks aren't used every year, then the rights to the daleks will be sold to another company.
gruntguy007
No one knows if this is actually true. Google it, and you'll find it's an internet rumour.
monsterlair It may be a rumour but I can believe it is true because the daleks are owned separately from Dr Who itself thanks to Terry's astute business acumen and before Dr Who returned in 2005 there was court battles going on between the BBC and Terry Nation's estate over the rights to use the daleks so it probably is true that is the contract. I'm from Australia and in 2004 our version of the BBC (The ABC ) broadcast the entire Dr Who canon but halfway through had to cease playing episodes involving daleks because of the court battle going on at the time.
Wait, are they bringing back Doctor Who Confidential?
Oh right... The Paradigm Daleks were actually defeated in 'Victory of The Daleks'. DEFEATED... in 'VICTORY of The Daleks'! is that what we're going for here?!
Also this episode was so much like 'Dalek' it practically stole everything except the idea of going 'into the Dalek'.
It stole imagery, dialogue and there was even footage OF 'Dalek' IN this one! WTF?! Hopefully the 'Robots of Sherwood' episode doesn't steal the 'fantasy-characters-coming-to-life' plot entirely from 'The Mind Robber'... :/
Where is there footage directly from 'Dalek'?
stalchild15 In the Daleks memories. That ones a bit of a nit pick but you can't deny the similarities...
shoogamoogaman Okay, I thought you meant during the actual meat of the episode.
The storyline for Dalek was actually taken of an audio story with 6 called Jubliee so
Dalek is actually a rip off
shoogamoogaman
I really want the paradign ones to come back as i love the height and the almost bassy feel to their voice, these short little high pitched ones are getting annoying to me now and i really want to see some really terrifying ones back.Sure the colours were a little bright for some but they could just tone it down a bit and give them more of a mettalic look to them.
I don't get it how did they shrink them down?
at 1:21 Phil and Peter look like twins it's weird
I didn't like it at all when Clara slapped the Doctor. People were once afraid to consider such a thing.
