I made this film for Volvo 18 years ago. It was a different time in many aspects. For example, very few women had access to the higher positions within automotive design. It is a better balance today but far from equal. I deeply respect the way that the designers in this project took a new approach to many features of the car and I am glad on their behalf that many comments about the design are positive. I understand that people find some of the solutions strange, even funny, but you must understand that this is a concept car that was never intended to go into production. The whole idea behind the car was to test new ideas. For those viewers who comment on the looks of these women, I ask you to behave better. Respect people and you will be respected. //Jan "Fobbe" Forsberg, corporate film producer.
Women graduate high school and college at higher rate than men, majority of poor people are men, majority of homeless are men, majority of suicide victims are men, 95% of workplace deaths are men (meaning men are the ones who do the mos dangerous jobs), 99% of military deaths are men, men are given harsher prison sentences than women for the exact same crime, mothers are favored in family court over fathers. In the West women are better off than men by almost every metric. If women were the best candidate for higher positions in automotive design, then they would get the job. Men dominate the field, because men are better at it. Men and women have different strengths, because we are different.
They don’t care. By 50k the lease is up and the lady is bored with it. The car goes back to Volvo to be recycled. BMW has been pushing towards a similar model for decades.
Fantastic and beautiful car designed for a advanced nation like Sweden God bless the team and their great creative ideas that has gone into it. I am simply surprised how such VOLVO car company can end up at PRC as a last resort of survival. Good luck thanks Kasturi
Forgetting literally everything else about the car, how on earth does a car with a closed engine bay appeal to men? Next up, they put security head screws on everything so you can't do any work on the car yourself.
this one is now my dream car! it's a bit fuuny that the volvo symbol is like the male symbol, and the best car ever is a volvo and completely made by women! they know what to do huh?
@@littlereptilian7580 Lots of issues honestly No access to engine being the biggest problem, if it breaks down in the middle of nowhere then it's good game for the driver They removed/replaced features just for storage like the gear stick and replaced it with buttons which makes servicing way more harder to do and the fact that buttons are more susceptible to input error and damage and a minor but valid point is it confuses drivers at that time due to the odd design choice for the time. They try to automate everything without any manual options and overrides which is also a common problem with concept cars today. If that part breaks, its going to be harder to replace and repair than having a manual option. Ex. Automatic seat adjustments + wheel adjustments + foot rest, it'd be a pain to having to replace the hardware especially since the car fully relies on those. Common argument would be to state that modern cars have that and yes modern cars have that but it's the high-end vehicles and supercars getting all that where spending money for repairs wouldn't bring a dent to the rich owners. Meanwhile, from what is being advertised, this car is meant to attract the working class. Average Joes thay dont have the time and money to waste on nightmarish repairs and maintenance. The gull-wing doors design is a poor choice, theres a reason why they're hated nowadays, its bad design even for a gullwing door, teslas and other modern cars with gullwing doors have extra folding mechanisms to the gullwing doors for more clearance, this one has poor clearance so everyday parking areas is gonna be a hastle to get out of There's still some more issues but these are the main ones, i like the vision where they try to maximise utility, space, and comfort for the driver, but it was very poorly executed and directed tbh. There's a reason why concept cars stay as concept cars. Most of the time they look good on paper but are bad when actually applied.
First of all, where's the parking brake situated in this car??? Where's the engine fucking bay???? where should I access the engine in this car???? No child safety seats or locks???? And the doors open too wide, so that means we can't even drive this car to any squeezed parking lot!!! And the parallel parking in this car looks disappointing, it will only calculate, not even it will park itself!!
I hate it! Where is the hood? I want to open the hood and listen to the idling engine (i'm a man, we do this!) Why is there a rug on the seat? I don't need to change the interior color! When i buy a car with a black interior, i want to keep it black (i made up my mind, before i got it)! Also - self parking? That takes away the fun! And please, put the gearstick in the middle. not on the steering wheel. What's next? It's all electric? Rubbish! Atleast those women understand that low-ride is cool!
Those doors are fucking stupid. What if you are in a tight spot? Also, I hate how it's like made for women in that sense that men aren't supposed to drive it. Sigh.
This design is complete shit. First of all why is there no hood? I mean even if you would'nt know anything about cars it would feel nice to be able to open it. The Audi A2s hood doesnt open but it can at least be taken off and engine oil as well as wiperfluid fillers can be accessed through the fake grill. Secondly how much engine oil do you have if it should last 50,000km without being changed. Thirdly, how much of the rear will be occupied by the fuel tank now that it moved away from being under the rear seats. Fourth, an exposed ballvalve will make sure a bunch of dust falls into your fuel or wiper fluid tank. Fifth, i looks like it would be very flimsy unless you have a tube frame or soething similar running through the center of the vehicle. Sixth, Why not have a rubber carpet inside so it doest get brown right away. Seventh, why drive with heels, i have no idea whtat it feels like but it looks kinda dangerous. Eight learn how to parallel park, this applies to anyone in any car. Ninth, what the fuck has the person at 0.53 been smoking Though i think the exterior design is alright

I'd wager that nearly every female gearhead and greasemonkey absolutely loathes this vehicle.
its designed by wimen who hate cars
Car for women: only men at a repair shop can repair it and it parks automatically. They know how women use their cars.
But now it seems that every car parks itself and you can't fill oil without a special tool.
I would say ahead of time dude.
No access too the engine... *Facedesk*
I'm curious, how old are you now zac?
I can’t believe this video was released
This video makes me fall asleep ngl, the weirdly robotic narrations and speakings, the soothing music
I really like the space in the front and default storage area in the back. Absolutely fantastic design!
"So we closed the bonnet for good" HOW TF ARE YOU PLANNING TO DO MAINTANANCE???
sister do you want a car that breaks down after 50k??

I remember reading about this car in Popular Mechanics expecting it to debut or to see a clip on channels like Speed.
Is this some kind of "Women can do stuff too" add?
Designing-wise, yes, but I believe it was assembled by men 🤣
