Theory is not completely absurd. Yes there are legal difficulties with the thread but one area you guys need to research is "the composition clause " that ties the media companies contracts between the ACC and ESPN,
There is nothing preventing ESPN from not renewing their deal with the ACC in 2025. So that’s the unspoken threat that hangs over all this. You can’t sue somebody for offering you a better deal than no deal at all. You guys need to keep those lawyer hats off.
The Composition Clause Blocks ESPN from not renewing. And the Pro Rata Clause makes sure the ACC can fulfill the Composition Clause The FACT that ESPN gave both of those Clauses to the ACC 9 years ago PROVES that ESPN wants to Renew with the ACC. ACC has ALREADY USED the Pro Rata Clause to fulfill the Composition Clause. It has ADDED 3 schools because it expects to LOSE 3 schools. When those schools LEAVE it will add MORE schools to Expand to 20... which has been the PLAN for 9 years. ESPN knew 9 years ago the SEC and B1G were going to EXPAND. It set the ACC up for SUCCESS after that Expansion. To not see ALL of this is FOOLISH.
People keep forgetting that those not trying/capable of moving to a P2 conference have votes here as well when coming up with these wild speculation. Just as unlikely is the idea of dissolving the conference. Schools outside looking in would file lawsuits agains the colluding institutions leading to this dissolution. This would not be school suing ACC, but the individual institutions and any other parties involved in the effort.
In 50 years, the top 100 schools will be in either the North (former B1G Ten) or the South (former SEC). Those 2 will absorb everybody relevant and leave the rest for Div.2. We are halfway there already. Washington, USC, UCLA leaving pac for B1G next year...
Why would FSU take this deal? It's like Motown brokering a deal for Michael to leave the Jackson 5 except he still has to forfeit earnings and do a number of Jackson 5 tours. Michael can just settle through court which he just pays a large settlement and is free and clear to pursue a solo career with any label.

But the ACC signed it and all ESPN has done since is hold the ACC to those agreed terms and had the ACC used any amount of common sense and sat down with everyone a deal could have been made that would have prevented the ACCs inevitable downfall and or collapse ... They should have sat down with ESPN and told them FSU and Clemson are gonna leave and a few others could follow let FSU and Clemson sign independent deals with ESPN where the ACC doesn't take any of their revenue but is still apart of the ACC and is held to a buyout you could even tell them they would be on the hook for paying for lost revenue is they left similar to the GOR ... ESPN would have gladly made deals paying FSU and Clemson 80 to 90 percent of what they bring in still making a profit and nobody else in the ACC can justify the cost of taking the ACC to court because their athletic departments don't generate enough interest or money to do so and with FSU and Clemson taken care of the ACC would never have enough votes to disband ... Why didn't any of this happen? ... A bunch of programs that don't generate 20M a year felt like they were intitled to 30M a year in a equal sharing system and now they have left their two most valuable assets in such a bad situation that they would be better off leaving at any cost than sticking around because they would lose more by staying in the ACC for the remainder of the ROG than they would paying the exit fees

There is a lot that isn't considered here in this analysis. One of the points that a judge advised me is that ESPN has gotten away with poaching schools when contracts are ending... BUT... there are elements that could go either way.

Perennial title contenders, one of the largest research universities in the nation, and endowments most schools dream of (guess you've never heard of Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos...) and they have an entire region with their rival (who mirrors UW in every respect).
Yeah, ESPN and Clemson/FSU may make a wink/nod deal, but it's not going to lead to either school taking 50% and it'll certainly lead to the ACC taking less or going to hell.
FSU will pay its own way in tv revenue from day one so it doesn't take anything from the other schools to grant them full participation
@@followthemoneyhoney exactly FSU draws 2 mil views when they play non powerhouses, 5 mil when they play Clemson, UF & Miami and over 9 mil when they play ND, Alabama, Michigan, etc while playing in the ACC. Just imagine them numbers when they are in either the Big or SEC.
If the Sec and Big tells FSU and Clem we ll give you 25% . What are the options for them. They don't have any.
Relax - this is an opening offer. ESPN and the ACC will renegotiate the TV contract, to keep FSU and Clemson, and to retain the current team configuration - the deal to be done by September 2024 = the fiscal year end for ESPN. The ACC/FSU/Clem have negotiating power since ESPN has to make a TV contract decision by June 2025, which is actually too late in the year for football. But, ESPN has negotiating power since no other conferences really want FSU or Clemson.
Nobody has talked to anybody but I bet there were 3 rd party talk , ACC doesn’t want to lose there conference because if they dnt espn wont renew there deal and the ACC falls apart , SEC is going to make $90 million next year so half if that is $45 million and the ACC is only making $30 million
And the Pro Rata Clause makes sure the ACC can fulfill the Composition Clause
The FACT that ESPN gave both of those Clauses to the ACC 9 years ago PROVES that ESPN wants to Renew with the ACC.
FSU and Clemson, maybe Miami and UNC, were the only schools that provide value.
Im callin it now. The sec will get fsu, clemson, nc, va
Uh, FSU is going to the B1G. Neither FSU nor the SEC have any interest in each other. And ESPN is utterly repugnant to FSU.
Every team that leaves will forever be hated.
so?
In 50 years, the top 100 schools will be in either the North (former B1G Ten) or the South (former SEC). Those 2 will absorb everybody relevant and leave the rest for Div.2. We are halfway there already. Washington, USC, UCLA leaving pac for B1G next year...
Doesn’t make sense for FSU.
@@heartbreak25 agreed. I just can’t see where it makes sense for either school but especially fsu. Not sure they want to be in the sec.
@@TheRealJackMcCoy The SEC is a second choice the goal for FSU is the B1G and I don't think they risk taking the ACC to court without talking to the B1G and FOX first same could be said for Clemson I think their deals already been shook on they just can't say anything out loud because that would be tampering and would get the other conferences in trouble ... You don't walk in the office and call the boss a bitch unless you have a better job lined up not when you're making millions a year
The ACC would take that deal.
You can tell this show is staged , the Miami guy got all the questions and the NC State dude got all the answers , it’s never the other way around
I mean ESPN gave them a bad deal from the jump ...
Jun 30th last day espn media rights deal applies to only the current 14 full acc members. Feb 1st 2025 last date espn can renew or non-renew acc's medua deal beyond 2026 season. These are the only dates acc menbers need to be concerned with. espn can eviscerate the acc by not renewing media contract. that is all the leverage they need folks.
Don't worry ACC , y'all can still win a fake Emmy award from College Game Day. Like Kirk the jerk and Lee Corso.
I think its true. The reason why your source laughed you off the phone. Because he cant confirm something thats goin on behind the scenes. This situation is just like tx an ou. Greg Sankey denied the rumors
I'm sure the Southeast conference will probably take North Carolina and Clemson but that's probably all they want out of that cream puff conference Florida State better go to the big 12 because they can't compete in any other conference
Once fsu & Clemson leave there will be a mass exodus of the Acc
Problem with that is FSU and Clemson are the only two that add value to the SEC or B1G in terms of revenue and the BIG12 isn't gonna expand to some crazy number there will be a limit ... I think in total 4 to 6 programs leave
The Big and Sec would both prefer UNC over FSU or Clem.
@@garlandalmarode6396 Money talks ... FSU and Clemson both bring in way more money than UNC their not even on the same level
ESPN is already dead...they know it
LMAO Nope ESPN is CASH RICH right now and going forward
Like everything ESPN does, the list is bogus.

ACC lead counsel meets FSU's lead counsel for first time in person (bahaha) ua-cam.com/video/1Mtj_rv3mEc/v-deo.htmlsi=HlY7aEROaU_F3olE
6 teams will have a landing spot in a Power Conference. The Big 3 Conferences are the Big 12, SEC, & the Big 10 . The ACC IS DEAD 💀 ESPN IS NOT GOING TO RENEW THEIR CONTRACT WITH THE ACC AFTER 2025-2026. Disney is Broke 😎
Where are you guys getting this Only receiving 50% if they go to the SEC or Big Ten?
You got a guy in a Miami shirt talking about FSU ... That's a salty Miami perspetive
Because FSU is desperate and the conferences hold all the cards.
@@garlandalmarode6396 No their not ... FSU will be apart of a bidding war with the SEC and B1G and their worth over 80M a year in a TV deal so they could go independent and make what the SEC or B1G programs are making you're delusional if you think FSU is desperate
I like Alex but where is Candace....did she quit the show?????
Spot on guys! I agree completely. This theory is absurd and tailor-made for the UA-cam conference realignment grifters that hardly talk actual on-the-field college sports.
The 50% is short term
Pay up and get a half a share. Disney bleeding money.
There is a lot that isn't considered here in this analysis. One of the points that a judge advised me is that ESPN has gotten away with poaching schools when contracts are ending... There is NOTHING legally wrong with advising a school they would get paid more in another conference if they are "available". ... ESPN does not have the ACC under contract after 2027...they just have an option. Sooo.... that is something you may want to discuss with a lawyer --- my friend advises there are a TON of ways this could go. One of the first things he pointed out was that all of these schools are part of the same organization --- the NCAA --- which is a problem for making an anti-trust case. BUT... there are elements that could go either way.
Here you go again Donno with the kneeling jab at Mario again. That is getting old come up with something new
It's really funny watching FSU and Clemson thinking that they're so valuable. They're not in the same league as Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, or Georgia. They're on the same level as Tennessee, Auburn and Wisconsin, which is better than the rest of the ACC
You're dumb. FSU and Clemson are both National Champs. They are competitive in any conference. Don't just talk out your bum. Give something factual.
😂 delusional kiddos
2027 Phase 1 of the ESPN Super League w/ unequal revenue sharing:

- Clemson
- Miami
- North Carolina
- Virginia

ESPN sucks need get hands off college sports!
FSU is out of the ACC Bigten here we go BTW FSU is playing chess not checkers Bigten wants FSU,NC,Miami,UVa FSU will play in the Bigten conf in 2025 NC is holding out to go Bigten only if they could bring ncst but bigten does not want ncst so NC needs to jump in and stop being a puss it will be ok it will be FSU,NC,UVA,Miami and the one that got away ND is always welcome
Someone smoking dope 😅, and who they playing Miami 😂
Sorry, 2027.
Y'all have fun staying in the ACC... Maybe Miami or NC State can finally win a ACC championship in football once FSU Clemson and probably a few more leave the ACC...
And you wonder why you are so dispised LMAO
@@wvgolfnut1 well the two teams carry the rest of the ACC monetarily and have to share the revenue they bring to the conference so FSU and Clemson are tired of it. Despise if you want but we are trying to compete with championship caliber and the ACC isn't going to be able to consistently do that in the near future so...
@@wvgolfnut1 trust FSU after the snub last year is perfectly fine being despised and being the villain
Those 2 teams don't carry the Acc. How long was FSU down before last year? Clemson was down forever before Dabo.
@@garlandalmarode6396 how many ACC championships does your team have since 1992... By my count FSU has 17 how many is your team have? Yes we had a few down years in the last 6 years... Everybody acts like FSU was down for 20 years nah try again
