- Quaxly was the least chosen starter at launch and I think he deserves a little more attention and love. Join me and Maxey the Quaxly on this adventure to beating the three main storylines.

Yeah…. But doing non base or gyms, everstone feels fine as the hold item to use, so… Only so many occasions to stop evolution… IF any, depending….

But for a Quaxly run… I don’t think having to stop evolution is the most annoying part…
It’s that Quaxly can only learn Flying, normal, water and just ONE fighting type (damage based) move *Low Kick* … Very small (damage) move pool to work from/ with…
And I plan to try to muster through the DLCs with my duck only, aswell lol…
I btw made a point to catch a ditto to bread my duck for 2 eggs for all Quaxly teams for Star bases and pair of Quaxly for Ghost gym lol. Ditto for breeding, cause it’s more challenging that way Imo, with how it is with ditto and not catching mons (unless shiny)…
But so far in the bases my 2 extra quaxly have remained lvl1 lol 😂

I have a Scarlet game I have been in the midst of doing this with, on my IPad I had/ have recorded most of it (minus the Fairy, poison, fighting type Star raids [that I haven’t done yet] & the Ghost and Psychic gyms [I also haven’t done yet…]) and put them on my UA-cam video thing… just for legit proof of unevolved, no items used and only my Quaxly, ditto & 2 found and caught shinies..
shared videos, not private but doubtful anyone watches them…. Ain’t this quality of video cause I lack the equipment for such videos…
Currently a lvl79 duck.
Went out of my way to get a female (resetting when male).
2 reasons. First second form is so feminine that even though I am not evolving it, the female gender seems fitting. Second, had a nickname idea I love/d, name it after the duck from the 1959 film version (original) Journey to the center of the earth! Old favorite; *my FEMALE Quaxly’s nickname is: Gertrude!*
8:18 At this Fire base…. I had to teach my Quaxly *rain dance* cause that Torcoal was too much for me & Gertrude otherwise… 😢
22:27 Yeah… I myself took a move from UA-camr *Jrose11* play book, *who did a NO ITEMS Fuecoco solo & NO ITEMS Magicarp solo runs,* and after beating the Normal type gym, took advantage of the 50 normal type terra shards you can get, and turned my quaxly a norm Tera type Pkmn for those battles against grass, electric and just any situation where being a water type doesn’t pay lol 😂
Wow that is awesome! And doing it with no items!? I felt like my duck looked at the elite four and just exploded lol. That’s a really good challenge not having that and having to know game knowledge as well! Good luck on the run I know you’ll get it done 😁

But you know, game has a under appreciated feature… It’s not the ability to self re- tutor our Pokémon but the fact that ANY move we teach it with a TM REMAINS among its shown move set there after forgotten, so we *don’t* have to get a new tm of a tm move taught then later removed for something else!
It has helped me greatly! I am constantly deleting moves and teaching or having “remember” forgotten moves for battle prep. Super necessary I feel… In my run. Have removed low kick at times for a move set I wanted/ needed for a battle…
(Or feels Under appreciated cause no one mentions it when talking about what makes this particular generation game great 👍🏻)
