Nice work man. Love seeing people make their already sweet Subaru Legacy's even sweeter. About to re-do my 14 Legacy 3.6R. The stock HK was nice, but time for some POWER.
Hello RP Garage! Real informative videos! Thanks man! At 2:10 you mention having a video detailing how to route power cables through the port behind the wheel-well... Did you happen to upload that at all? I've just bought a 2005 Legacy GT here in Japan and I'm looking to install a sub that requires a direct power source... I'd love to see that video if possible... My car is a righthand drive, but i'm guessing the port is on the same side as the battery -like yours...
Hi 👋 have a question about this amp ,I try to find some information about the normal temperature when is working in normal conditions, I have installed the same amp in my car but I put it in the trunk 😬 and is terrible hot 🤯 I use the 4 gauge cable and a 12 gauge for the remote, I checked the installation and looks like “everything is fine “ because I have not experience mounting amps , I have not install the extra ground cable for the battery 🔋 and I’m using a 80A fuse holder , I try to find information in google but i can’t find anything , I have not idea what’s can be te problem, my car is a Mercedes Benz CLK , I know is not a nice Subaru , but I would be very grateful if you could give me some ideas that helped me to fix the problem with my junk 😛
I will say that my amp experience is limited to about 3 amps, and only 1 of them is comparable - an Alpine MRV-F340. The Alpine was a 4 channel that powered the Polk DB6501/652s in my last car (earlier versions of these speakers) and worked well with 55rms each channel but was bigger and didn't have a sub channel or as much power. I bought this Polk specifically because it was small, has a very high power output at 70w RMS each channel for the 4 speaker channels + it has a 200w RMS sub channel (all at 4ohm) which means it can power my Polk MM1240 sub without having to run extra power/ground wires and mounting a separate amp. Also it has a level control remote for the sub so I can change things on the fly whic is important to me. It also has a lot of crossover options on the amp itself for both the sub and 4 channels separately. I don't use these features because I use the electronic crossovers on my Pioneer headunit. 70w to the 4 channels is more than enough to make the most of almost any speaker and if you choose can get very loud (personally I'm more interested in clarity than volume but the options are there). I was concerned the 12" sub might be underpowered with 200w RMS but it seems to be performing totally fine and I don't see a need for more sub power. The only downside to this amp is there are no speaker level inputs if that's something you require and the gain settings are a bit difficult to get to once installed because they're on the side instead of top. In terms of reliability, I bought this used and it's given me no problems other than a strange hum at startup that goes away within a couple of seconds (before the headunit has even booted up).
With regards to before and after - the speakers cannot perform properly without enough power so the sound quality was much clearer after adding the amp but it would have been clearer after any similarly powered amp
@@RPGarage I just installed it and I'd say my only complaint for now is the frequency range. It's soo broad. Like 40hz-400hz with no #s in between its dear near impossible to know if I'm setting it up at 70-80hz for my tower speakers. So I rolled it back to 40hz and then moved it a tad touch hoping it's around 80hz lol. My jl on tge other hand goes 50hz - 250 with breaks in between like 80, 100, 150, 200, 250 so it can be set in increments of 25hz in between. Jl always doing it right lol

Front speakers stoped working. When connected to the rear outputs, there’s sound. Any ideas on how to fix it? Front speakers and sub, aren’t working.
Nice video men, can you share the part numbers of the speakers, sub and amp you used please?
Came to see if 2awg or thicker cable would fit to run all the way to the back of the car from somewhere, didn't get that answer :/
Looking good... keep up the great work ,, cheers 🍻
Thanks 👍
which wire is the attena wire?????
Wow man great video. Thanks 🙏🏽

What frequency did you set the amp?
Do you think I would be able to add this/an amp to the stock radio if I got the white and red hookups through a extra wiring harness?
Yep you can use LOCs to patch into the stock wiring or find an amp (like the one I used) that has a spot that accepts line level inputs
My audio amp got wet from leaky windshield..875 dollars for part at dealer 1600 for carpet
How do you rate this amp? Does it perform good? How was the sound quality before and after installing the amp?
