Thanks Elliot, that is really an astonishing growth of your channel over the course of a year if you'd ask me! Certainly in the niche that is jazz, and more specifically big band and arranging. But it was really lacking on here, having some good and practicial information about big band, arranging and
But yeah, that is one of the amazing things about UA-cam and internet in general: the jazz community which can unite so much better and generate awesome conversations about it on the web. That's indeed a humbling and probably the best part of being a UA-camr. Let's keep those conversations and the community going with more awesome content! And I know you will!
A beautiful and inspiring 2022 to you Elliot!

Hi Elliot, this is so great..... imagine if we had similar videos from Billy May, Pat Williams, etc...... you are not only a great writer/arranger/person, but now an inspiration to so many others.
I'm so glad you built this channel this year, the educational videos you make really, really help and inspire me to do what you do! Thanks so much Elliot!
Thank you so much Kail!
You're good at what you do and what you offer is great, but I suggest the success of the channel is a lot to do with YOU! Its not given to everyone to be effective on screen. You'll know who does it well and not so well. But your approach which is candid and open is engaging and endearing.
Over this period there has been a real blossoming of quality teaching resource on Jazz on UA-cam. And one of the most exciting developments has been the collabs between various UA-camrs. Whether it be them interviewing each other, writing/perfroming for each other and doing virtual ensembles/bands together. I guess this is a terrific thing across the States and when it involves folk in Europe, Australia and Asia etc this is a truly a phenomenon.
I've only just come across your channel and found the instruction on Big Band writing terrific. You might know Chuck Israels did an online course in conjunction with the Garritan Personal Big Band. It followed on from them putting Rimsky Korsakov's Treatise on Orchestration Online using the Garritan Personal Orchestra.
Garritan has now been absorbed into another company by the lessons are still up on a forum called Northern Sounds.
But your approach has been terrific. Its very important to see that certain ways of doing things are validated by someone doing it like that for a living, rather than just getting it from a textbook.
Thank you Elliot. Do keep it going.
Awesome video Elliot! And shout out to the super talented Jason Lee!
Great stuff thank you Elliot loving your videos. I'm a Big Band singer and jazz fan/student. I'm now a subscriber - keep up the great work and keep posting videos. The players all sound fantastic and the recordings are exciting and fresh, with lots of energy and wonderful players. [Love your arrangements!] It's tough growing a UA-cam channel especially now so congrats on your new subscribers. :)
Congrats on your success so far! Youtubing from scratch is no easy task, and you have definitely added a lot of value to your audience!
Thanks Richard

Glad you enjoyed it!
Love hearing about the history of your channel!
A tall plant in the corner with some soft up-lighting would look great. The shadow casting from the paneling would add some nice depth as well.
Great idea!
