    The credit you have in your inventory is separate from the credits you had available to purchase from the store. In your inventory you can see how many credits you have available on the top right. If you want to spend credits you find laying around you need to find/make a ATM and deposit them.
    Also, your character starts with 10k credits by default.

    you in fact can add a large head to a small rotor by spawning the large head overhead and let it drop into place before attaching it.
    it will take some finagling to get it to stick.

    Use the small grid advanced rotor 3x3 version, grind off the small head, fly directly over it and select the large advanced rotor head and drop it down onto the small grid base, then attach and hey presto, something you can mount a large ore detector onto. Ensure your grid has power, weld the rotor combo up and lock it in position before adding the ore detector, or it’s spin-tastic.

    Hello there! I've sen some of your videos mainly as tutorials 😋 In this case I didn't remember if there where an easy way to get the small rotor with the big part and finally I used my old way: build 2 pistons (in line with the small rotor) in L with a block at the end and place a Magnet, then attach the big detector; extend and retract until u get the big rotor part (attached to the detector obviously xD) and down it till your timers get it locked into the small rotor (I got the idea of timers from this video =P always did on my own hand 😑😩😞) I tried as you first with the ship, but after 10 minutes tried the pistons mode and worked at first jijiji.
    So, here's the tip and my thanks for your videos bro. Greetings!!

      @@TheGarageGamer86 They are also great places to hide if enemies come for you because there is an absolute damage negation inside their shields.
      Even if an enemy flies into the bubble to attack you, no damage can be done by either of you.
      Grinder's don't even work. [this is also to keep the little shops from being ground down themselves] and aliens can't attack you.
      So while physical actions can happen inside the bubble [like you could try to ram your ship into the base or into an enemy] no damage is ever counted.
      In theory [and I have never tested this] you could fall from space, and if you land inside that bubble, neither you, nor your ship will be hurt, while just outside of the bubble there would be a massive crater and your ship would be nothing but a handful of scrap, and you might be stuck without a respawn point [unless it lets you respawn there in the base].

  • @xurmisalwaysright2460
    @xurmisalwaysright2460 Рік тому

    My good man, getting a large grid on a small grid requires either opposite building, ie. you start with the detector, put rotor/hinge, get small head on it and then build your rover around it.
    Or, much easier, since you are in gravity, make a 3x3 Advanced rotor where the top is flush with the top of the flatbed, then "drop" a large grid Rotor part on top of it. Now, first "rotor lock = ON, Rotor = OFF" otherwise it'll start spinning around. ALso, bear in mind that the rover itself MUST BE greater in mass then the large grid build on top off it, because otherwise it'll flip out (called "clang"), that's why second build method = best because no LG rotor/hinge. That said, better have also 4 small parachute then 1 big one....
    I also would sujest you take enough material down to build a basic base down there, load the cobald etc in small "rockets" and usa a remote control to fly them to a gps near ye spaceship.
    I also sujest you build a 2nd survival kit there so when (not if) your spaceship go BOOM, you would have a 2nd respawn point. 😉😜

    • @TheGarageGamer86
      @TheGarageGamer86  Рік тому

      Dude I think you just saved my bacon with the information about the rover needing to be heavier than the large grid head and attachment, in all the excitement I didn't even think about that!
      I was considering making a seoncd base, but I think I will create an artificial limitation on myself to not do that, because I really want this series to focus on Space and the planets will just become mining locations as I have done soo much of my time in SE on planets and I like the challenge of not being on the planet. Mainly because the ores are so easy to obtain on the planet haha.
      I will definitely put a second survival kit on the rover though, that will definitely be needed given my sketchy jet pack flying 😅😅.
      Thanks for the suggestions man 😎👌

    I was thinking, could you use connectors to attach the ore detector? As in, build a small grid connector on the rover, and a large grid connector on the detector, and clamp them together?
    Not ideal, perhaps, but maybe easier to build?
    Another idea is to build a crane on the rover, and use it with a magnetic plate to manipulate the detector into place. _maybe_ that would be easier than using the whole ship?
    Btw, are you sure the rotor isn't mounted to low in the rover bed? I wouldn't know, but it occurred to me that it could be an issue.
    Also, it always looks really precarious to me when someone builds wheels directly out from the bottom of a rover. I want to put the wheel suspensions about a block down.
    I understand that making sure the rover isn't too tall and doesn't tip over is more important than a bit of extra ground clearance, but it just _feels_ wrong :-D
    Don't forget to put a gyro or two on the rover, now. Also lights ;-)

    • @TheGarageGamer86
      @TheGarageGamer86  Рік тому +1

      Yeah you certainly can use a connector I guess 😎👌. I ended up getting it hooked up though by using some pistons and a little more patience than I had at the end of the episode 😅.
      Yeah I'm hoping I don't need to take this rover into some serious terrain, but man this magnesium is proving to be illusive so who knows lol. I'm probably gonna put some atmo thrusters on it so it can fly around short distances when I need it to 😊 but yeah I'm definitely gonna neede gyro's for the descent 😊

    • @patrikhjorth3291
      @patrikhjorth3291 Рік тому

      @@TheGarageGamer86 Frankly, my feelings about ground clearance are very likely unfounded. Having a rover be too top heavy is probably more dangerous than having it be a bit low-slung. I just think it _looks_ scary.
      Speaking of balance, I suspect gyros will be helpful in keeping the rover upright even on the ground, particularly in uneven terrain.
      I'll be very interested to see how you will bring your freshly mined ore back to the ship. Something to look forward to.

    Seems you had an ID-10-7 error with designing your rover... conveyor junctions should always, always be used at the 4 and 6 positions (when thinking of the back of the cockpit as a phone dialer) and with the way you wanted the batteries, you could have gone with 4,5 and 6 and junctioned out from 5, surrounded batteries on either side to connect to a h2o2 generator... that way you wouldn't be wasting oxygen at all while using it in environs with low or no oxygen...

    There is a large small grid rotor that will allow you to attach large grid rotor heads to it hopefully that makes sense

    • @TheGarageGamer86
      @TheGarageGamer86  Рік тому

      Yeah it does, I did get it connected to the small small grid rotor though, I knew it was possible because I seen it done years ago long before the 3x3 small grid rotor came out 😎

  • @michaelmichael1619
    @michaelmichael1619 Рік тому

    Incase it hasn't been said you where on the right track with adding that rotary but you need the larger base for small grid. I doesn't work with the part you are currently trying to attach it to.

    Was wondering if you would have more luck if you dropped just the rotor head without the ore detector. Ive used this trick before, but i cannot for the life of me remember how i managed to do it in the end

    • @TheGarageGamer86
      @TheGarageGamer86  Рік тому +2

    I agree with other comments about using a connector or big small grid hinge to connect the ore detector. Don't forget to put multiple parachutes on it as well if you can. If you can get some ice, it might be worth putting a small hyfrogen tank and a little thruster downwards for a gentle landing in emergencies.
    Also, it's worth exploring the station further. If you can get easy acquisition missions (common items like small tubes or steel plates, anything easy to make or just basic ores) you can make easy money quickly. Then depending on what kind of station it is, you can buy some sweet items that will make life easier.
    Thanks for an entertaining series. It has inspired me to get back into space engineers.

      Apologies mate, I missed this comment somehow lol. Yeah I was thinking about using a connector but I had my hearts set on using a rotor, especially because I have a habbit of disconnecting the connectors when I press P to release the hand brake (and yeah I know you can disable that functionality but I always forget to lol).
      I am glad you are enjoying the series mate 😎👌

    • @TheGarageGamer86
      @TheGarageGamer86  Рік тому +1

      You can do that, but you have to run a fairly obscene amount of missions to get the credits to buy something decent 😅 I think from memory I used the atlas in one of my saves to do a 25,00km delivery run and that made me about 1m credits, and some of the ships can be like 10+ Million credits lol.

    Doesn't flying around at 500m/s with endless hydrogen on a jetpack make the game a little more trivial? I'd think limiting jetpacks to 10m/s would be more of a challenge.
