I think that by approaching a discussion with the willingness to learn from the other, to reconsider one's own beliefs INDEPENDENTLY of who your conversation partner is (trying to substract personal preference and liking) might be the most important quality humans should be striving for in any of their interactions. This humility bears great chances of discovering new ways of thinking and brings everyone at least a bit closer to the truth of how things are. Good question, but probably more like an approach to art. To exhaust very complex emotional matters somehow kills it a little. There is no faith involved, just a thrilling acceptance of not knowing, but rather experiencing it. Religeous people claim knowlegde. But you might be a little right.
@@adamb4610 Interesting. Isn't it a lot about patterns and math? Like ratios? That is pretty exciting in itself. I actually think religion is based in art itself, but perverted. Hey Alex, I've been followed your channel for a while now and as an academic in music theory, I was very surprised to know about your interest in it! I know you said you didn't want to learn more so as to "not ruin the fun" but I promise you it won't, it's a fascinating field. Please feel free to reach out to me if you change your mind about that. I would love to give back after all these years of consuming your content with free tailored tutoring over Zoom into pop, jazz, classical, whatever you like. If you ever find yourself having free time, it would be an honor for me. Best of luck!
Where I live, we don't have vital wheat gluten flour (seitan) and they only offer ready-made seitan sausages and such, which are super expensive. So my mom and I buy normal flour, make it into a dough, then wash all the starch off until we're left with the plant protein (or something like that, she knows better than I do). Then we put it into a broth and cook it to make seitan! It's time consuming but a very cheap alternative to some of the expensive vegan options where I live.
My dream also was to apply for a (neuroscience) masters position in Oxford to the deadline one week ago, and I'd actually say that my chances of getting accepted weren't too slim. However, one consequence of the Brexit is that German/EU students now have to pay the overseas fee (26000£), which is far more than I could ever stem. I'm now going to a good university in a country where I don't have to pay so much money, but all that still left a rather bitter taste in my mouth.

Congrats
Why not just buy a can of lentils?
@@FinalRadius We do but I go to the gym and need as much protein as I can get tbh
peter singer's also the one who changed my life. frakin awesome how much suffering this guy has prevented
Rather a really good question to the question.

Love your content! Single handedly convinced me to go vegan and I look forward to more of your incredible work. Congrats on hitting 400k!
Thanks alex, you're like a mentor for me.
My Oxford interview was great. It was a nice chat about the Field of the Cloth of Gold and the Treaty of Utrecht.
I am a muslim but I really find your videos interesting and you have a good personality, love your videos 🙌🏻
"I'm a Muslim, but..."? That sounds a lot like "I'm not a racist, but..."
@@ProfRonconi Literally you're analogy is wrong. It's basically an American telling a Mexican : hey I'm American but I dont believe in bulding a wall.
Athiests and muslims on general start on a negative approach
I just wanted to show my appreciation despite my opposite belief
@@AbdallaAmeri Hey, cool that you're open-minded towards different points of view, stay curious!
@@AbdallaAmeri Nope. My analogy is right, and yours wong. It's nothing like an "American" talking to a Mexican; it's like a Trump supporter talking to a Mexican. Islam is not a nationality, but a set of beliefs based on a holy book. If you don't accept that the Q'uran is holy and infallible, then you're not a Muslim. Full stop.
If you accept that everything Muhammad supposedly said is sacred and unchangeable, then you're a fascist moron. Full stop.
Now, what is it?
@@AbdallaAmeri Also, "literally" does not mean anything in your comment. One can be wrong or one can be right; one cannot be "literally" right or wrong.
good on you. Congrats
I can't wait for the Bishop Barron debate.
