      awesome video but dude do you understand how annoying it is when youre voice compoletely changes and you start screaming about your advertisement out of nowhere? its very annoying and seems like a bad strategy. imo, the best ads are when people sound authentic, maybe use a little humour, not just completely change your tone of voice to sound sooooooooo inauthentic and scream in our ears. like i said i love your videos you do great work just think this would make your videos a little more perfect. all love

    The silver lining of the Len Bias tragedy is that this served as a wakeup call to the entire NBA of what the consequences of cocaine are (especially considering how widespread cocaine use was in the NBA years prior), and it's a miracle that players such as David "Skywalker" Thompson are still alive to tell about their battles with cocaine addiction.
    Charles Barkley was even quoted as saying that this tragedy alone singlehandedly scared him away from ever wanting to try cocaine.

    It's debatable whether they were actually rivals. Both men played each other four times overall. The first two in '83, Bias wasn't a starter yet. The 3rd was on January 12 of 1984 where Bias had 24 pts & 4 rebs while MJ had 21 pts, 12 rebs (7 offensive), 4 steals, 2 blks, & ended the game w/ his iconic cradle dunk at the buzzer (stats provided by starks23's upload). Their last match-up was on February 19th that same year where MJ scored 25 & Bias had 18. MJ was drafted after his junior year. Hence, comparing stats for their last years in college doesn't make sense. Bias' senior year was when MJ dropped 63 pts in the playoffs.
    College careers:
    Jordan [3 years] = 17.7 ppg (.540 fg%), 5.0 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.7 spg, 0.7 bpg, 30.8 mp
    Bias [4 years] = 16.4 ppg (.536 fg%), 5.7 rpg, 1.3 apg, 0.6 spg, 0.7 bpg, 32.8 mp
    There've also been players who were great in college but not in the pros. Senior year stats:
    Bias = 23.2 ppg (.544 fg%), 7.0 rpg, 1.0 apg, 0.8, spg, 0.4 bpg, 37.0 mp
    Laettner = 21.5 ppg (.575 fg%), 7.9 rpg, 2.0 apg, 2.1 spg, 0.9 bpg, 32.2 mp

    Penty of players were better than Michael Jordan in college. What made Michael Jordan the greatest was that he improved faster than everyone else and their mentality.
    Given the fact that he was overdosing on drugs, I don't think Len Bias had the mentality for it..

    Len Bias was Wilkins and Kemp mixed with better interior & help defense, very effective paint presence, and lights out from 15 ft or closer.
    Bias was a Forward version of MJ without playmaking.
    Reggie Lewis was SG Scottie Pippen.
    Had he played with the Celtics they could’ve won more chip in the 80’s or not but they’d be geared to compete in the 90’s.
    I doubt Jordan ever retires if Len is present.

The whole thing was so surreal. It was like a dream. Two days later, the morning of my 25th birthday, I hear on the radio at my job that Len Bias had just died. I will never forget that moment when my dream became a nightmare.

I have tried to find it online and it’s hard to find it. My dad had the fortunate chance to meet Jordan through the boys and girls club and he says had he known Jordan would have been there, he would have tried to get him to sign it. Len Bias being drafted by the defending NBA champions (one of the greatest teams of all time) and being under the tutelage of the best player on the planet was basically equivalent to Kevin Durant being drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in 2007.

    The fact is: we are trying so hard to find someone to surpass Jordan 20 years after his retirement, that we are just making stories for a guy who didn't play a single game for the NBA.

    The worst part is we don't know how he'd have been in the NBA. College game hasn't always translated directly to the NBA, so we'll never know if he'd have been an absolute monster, a star, or a bust. Seeing a true rival to MJ would have been amazing.

    Had Len not tragically died, NBA history would have changed. Pair him with Bird and the ‘87 Celtics who can rest properly (even Walton doesn’t get hurt from overtraining), and the C’s win in ‘87 and ‘88. Pistons may never get their chip, certainly not a dynasty. Bulls would have a legit competition in early ‘90’s. What could have been.

  • @RE1GN_BLOOD

    The problem with him was he was already an addict by the time he was drafted. We saw what happened with guys from era. Tarpley, Washburn, Michael Ray Richardson, Walter Davis etc. so even if he didn’t OD I’m willing to bet we would have seen a suspension or two at the least as part of his career. We tend to put people on pedestals when they’re dead. Comparing this guy to MJ and LeBron makes as much sense as comparing him to Sam Bowie and Darko Milicic. Yeah he might’ve become a superstar but he didn’t so we’ll never know.

    Well, it wasn’t a scandal, but the death of Len Bias shows a reminder that the 1986 NBA draft class is notorious for players who have been dealt with drugs and effectively stunted their potential.
