    That thing looks and sounds amazing. I try to tell people that Core PRS guitars are amazing. They get a lot of hate but to me, they are the best. They are expensive sure. But they are second to none.

      The thing about PRS core guitars is I have never played a dog. They are consistent in their high quality. Other major brands I have to play before I would buy it.

      I understand how you feel 😆😆 I do remember on Phillip McKnight’s channel when he had Paul on and I did ask him about left hand guitars they were possibly going to make and his answer was so dismissive. It’s hard to move passed that even though they did release the SE models later that year.

    Hi . Great demo as usual. I just picked up a custom 24 ( used ) swapped out a les Paul standard ( which had an effing scratch along the lower bout that I hadn't noticed when I bought it! ) ergo , less £ on swap. Shop soiled and didn't notice. Anyway, the 24 blows it out the water. Sounds , feel, playability and its bloody handsome! Your demo on the 22 had me look at prs in the 1st place as I'd never really considered them . Idiot ! 😂

    Just remember Leslie West with Mountain walking out with an Old Gibson Melody Maker ( a primer guitar) and Crushing it with Mississippi Queen !!!!!
    Pick up a Melody Maker and you will never sound like West! And you will NEVER sound like Shane on a Squier or a PRS ! As he has morphed into
    one amazing guitarist!! I saw this when gigging in Italy when an old ragged man picked a guitar out of the garbage in front of a music store in Music
    Alley in Naples. And proceded to stun everyone around as the incredible Virtuoso he was. A guitar out of the garbage !!!! You cannot buy being a Master !!

    I have a couple of 'full fat' lefties. A Custom 22 from 1999 and a "Lefty Ltd" McCarty from 2010. Both are excellent guitars, beautifully built, sound great, but to me the Custom 22 is just 'better', tone options wise especially. The rotary switch took some getting used to, but it's fine. Sadly, since I bought them I've become aware of Mr. PRS's quite vocal disdain for lefties, which has prejudiced me somewhat. Crazy I know, but I'd not buy another PRS (not that I need to!!) In fact I'd be happy to sell the Lefty Ltd, just a case of getting my arse in gear and getting rid.

    Thanks again to Jerry's Lefty Guitars for providing not only the guitar but the great facility for you to make this great demo, review, and video. It's obvious I'm a huge fan of clean tones, and this one has some really great ones. I own 2 PRS SE's and am perfectly happy with them. I said that so no Core PRS lovers can go off on me claiming I'm biased or a hater when I say being here over 3/4 of a century, retired, and on a fixed income, there is Zero Way I can in anyone's wildest dreams possibly justify the price of a PRS like this one. For those of you that can? I am happy you can. Thanks again for another great demo, review, and video, Shane. Please keep them coming. (Edited to correct spelling.)

      This is a much better guitar in terms of feel but overall tone is similar. The neck on this is really unique as a lefty, I haven't seen another one like it before. My first real guitar, probably one of the first leftys my guitar shop has ordered in a lefthand for a prs, I remember the owner saying it's going to cost lots for that guitar especially for it being a lefthanded one but I told him just get it and I'll buy it ,, glad I did and now tell this day It sits with all the other guitars. Perhaps the most underrated PRS of all time is the Paul’s guitar. It doesn’t get the level of attention that the Custom 24 or 594 get, but the pickups in the Paul’s guitar are incredible.
    That’s why I love the new Modern Eagle V so much. It’s basically a 513 with Paul’s guitar pickups in it. Epic.

    I preferred to learn lefty guitar because l could fret with my right hand; it was easier. But ‘77 - ‘82 lefty guitars were unicorns- and since ‘80 l had access to a few different guitar collections for different reasons and they were righty ( of course ) and l had time to play them- but today lefty guitars are more plentiful and l’ve always wished l stuck with lefty- it was just more natural to fret right handed! 40 years later l’m still kinda pissed! also sustained severe trauma to my left wrist and life would of been easier being a lefty! Holy Shitcakes- that’s a lot of boomer blab for u tube

    PRS seems to have found the forumla for creating easyto play necks. And they used this formula on both Core and SE models. You could argue they lack a bit of character as the necks don`t fight the player, thou. ;-)

    This PRS sounds great, but I can’t get over the looks. Body looks bloated. The bird inlays are tiring and over branding. Neck joint could be better. Also I don’t know what PRS has against painting the backs. Just a personal opinion, but these guitars are ugly.

    One of my dream guitars is a DG model PRS but it'll never happen. Paul himself is on record as saying he hates building LH guitars and why they're pretty rare.

    • @PaulCooksStuff
      @PaulCooksStuff 2 роки тому

      He hates building LH guitars because he lost a small fortune doing it. He retold the story in the most recent livestream product launch when he was asked about LH in the Q&A.
      The marketing team convinced him all their research and projections said 10% sales volume for LH was achievable. They convinced him the numbers added up. So he hired LH techs to do the QC, retooled the factory to produce LH models, launched them all predicated on the analysis of 10% sales ... They sold 2%. It wasn't enough volume to make it viable.
      So yes, he shoots down new suggestions to make LH. Not because he hates LH, but because his wallet remembers the pain. He's once bitten, twice shy.

    Is it worth the price, I'd say that if you want to pay extra for more expensive wood, that will lift up the price 2000 EUR/USD but in regards with playability it does not offer much anything compared to 2500-3000€/$ guitar.
    My opinion is that it's not worth it, I believe it's somewhere around 5000-6000€ and PRS don't hold the value as well as some big brand guitars.

    • @IamMusicNerd
      @IamMusicNerd 2 роки тому +1

      I agree that the small difference is probably not worth the extra $2k, however, PRS’s do seem to hold their value as well as most big brands. I have been looking for a few specific core models, and even used they are selling for almost as much as they did when they were new. And a few discontinued models are going for well over $5k used now. Yikes.
