You fly over New York or Philadelphia and it’s this beautiful night sky filled with all the city lights below. Combine that with the relief and joy and knowing you are home again.
I don’t know why but I’ve always been fond of airports and flying. It’s something about the atmosphere in an airport - professional yet casual, slightly chaotic, and futuristic in a way. In regards to flying it’s not always about the destination oddly enough. It’s just that flying alone makes me feel like I’m stuck in time - no calls, no worries - a vacuum of calmness in a way... ...unless there’s a screaming child on the plane, that’s a whole new experience... entirely.
