I’m so glad it was helpful. I had to make the vid after I couldn’t find any instructions anywhere and figured it out for myself.

I installed a Riobel thermostatic system at a rental and my new tenant of a month emailed me explaining how the water wouldn't get hot enough, for the shower or the tap (which runs through the shower). So yes, this video is tremendous :):) it's worth noting I have a different model, but the video fit the bill on explaining the inner workings.@@darkhorseeuc

@@darkhorseeuc what does suck about Riobel and I guess water cartridges in general is that they don't sell the gasket separately. Have to replace the entire thing even if it's just a bad gasket. But most companies like Riobel are good with their lifetime warranty and just give you a new one. Seems like a waste though 🤷🏻‍♂️. But I digress.

@@Chanmantroop10 I see what you’re saying, but I think it makes sense for a few reasons. 1- they have one part number to fix cartridge issues; the valve body is more expensive than the gasket but then they don’t have to catalog and issue separate parts. 2- if you’re going to the trouble to disassemble the valve, might as well replace everything while you’re at it since some components are already worn to a state of failure. 3- it makes me want to get their products if they cover it so well. It might be more up front but then you have a quality product that you don’t have to worry about servicing costs. Other companies charge about $80 for cartridges.
      Everyone wins.

@@darkhorseeuc good points but the gasket is on the outside that seals the cartridge and the roughing valve. For inside components, for sure makes sense to just replace the entire thing. But hey if they're gonna give me the entire cartridge I'm fine with that. The only annoyance is waiting for shipment vs going to the store and getting the rubber gasket, or stocking up on a few spare gaskets just in case.

@@Chanmantroop10 for sure. I like Moen products for the fact that I can go to my plumbing wholesaler in town and walk out with cartridges for free.

Thank you! Riobel should provide this instruction, or maybe link to yours?

Thanks for commenting. This vid has a funny back story; I had installed this unit and my clients asked me to make it go hotter. I searched the manual and the internet and couldn’t find anything. I just went ahead and took it apart and managed to figure it out. The clients said they wanted it hotter still so when I went to do the process over again, I thought I’d film it so there is something out there. I knew nothing about editing videos so my 8 and 10 year old kids helped with putting this together. I’m glad people are finding it and that it’s helpful.
