The Crayola Crayon Melter... why does it exist?! What can you even make with it?! Well... a giant rainbow, I guess!

the cat is clearly embracing his dog friend who is passing on to heaven because of his fatal neck wound. what a deep and meaningful illustration.
nah dont u see all that red on the dog’s side? he’s going to hell
@@safegourd nah that’s just all his blood
I feel like there is actully a story like that cat pug friend dies and then the owner gets kittens for thr cat to become friends with.
Awww thats a downer. :/
Now I'm sad
"I was not expecting a heavy flow"
Me, an actual child: *pfffttt, every month, man*
AHAHA.
@@KaseyTheGolden hi
OH-
Plsss
the red is also accurate to this comment XD
“Please dont demonetize me” I’m gonna cry
"I was not expecting a heavy flow" oh so that's why the rainbow turned out so red
Kasey: "We've got a sexy lion, and.. oh, a fish."
The fish: Q-Q
*sad blub blub (I know fish don’t make that noise but still)
I'd love to see you try the technique where you scratch off the surface layer of wax, leaving a smooth layer of pigment on the page!
One day I will have to try that!
I came here to suggest this exact thing 😂
Same!!! I been wondering why she hasn’t done that yet!
echo gilette has a video showing this technique c:
The artwork looks so amazing and cute!
Could this make a crayon sculpture? By building the sides and sticking em together so like a little crayon house that you could use as a crayon?
Amazing idea!
Because it’s so liquidy, I don’t think you’d be able to :(
I was wondering the same thing!
@@lvzer Then maybe put the liquid in a mould or something?
@@Ar-yp6nh or maybe just liquify the joints for the sculpture or something. It would be amazing
The characters look stupid. I love it.
😂
Oh this was really fun!
I remembered that as kids we used to cover paper with rainbow with crayons and then covered it with black ink, when it dried we would scrape off the ink instead of drawing and it made a negative space rainbow effect. It would be so cool to see you play with that!
Yes!!! It usually works even better when you mix the ink with some black acrylic paint
Kasey: the device
Chloe rose art: melter pen tool plastic nozzle device
Omg i love the texture so much! Its a shame the dog looks like it was shot...
👀💦
You know there’s a theme with dogs around here... 😂
@@KaseyTheGolden LOL YES
See, I imagine the melting effect would honestly work a lot better for art that is more abstract. And done on a canvas or something. Maybe a mixed medium piece of acrylics with wax crayons for texture.
I'm dying, right after you said "I wasn't expecting a heavy flow" I got an ad for some lady products 😅😂
@@craftychatscafe6342 It's still bringing a smile to my face haha!
not only women have periods, come on....

The year of the crayon is bringing me so much joy! You're a legend, Kasey.
@ashlee garcia I have a feeling you're going to be binge-watching Kasey's entire backlog of videos 😂. I've been addicted since discovering her channel 3 years ago... If you like watercolour the 500 Drawing Prompts series is amazing. 🥰
This reminds me a lot of using a 3D pen. I love how bright the colours come out and how they mix!
I thought the same thing!
I appreciate that you still show the times when things don't go right, and you just have fun experimenting and pushing yourself w different media 🖍
They couldn’t add some kind of flow control mechanism, really; it wouldn’t be that hard to have a valve that only let’s an amount out at a specific rate.
"i was not expecting a heavy flow" me every month
Or twice a month if you're really lucky. 😲😵🤢🤷
Since this is the year of the crayons you could try the Crayola product called Crayon Maker. You can make your own crayons using the machine but I am not sure if they still sell them
I had one of those when i was a kid, and i loved it so much lol
@@definitelynotademon4815 Awesome, they were really cool my neighbor had one
Oh I had one!
I remember using crayons on some sort of hot plate, so everything on the paper would stay melted until you turned it off. That might be an interesting solution to the instant wax hardening you were dealing with. If you’re looking for more crayon ideas 😂
Isn’t that called encaustic painting or something?
Kasey: Talking and touching the paper
All I can hear: SHHHDSHHHSHSHHShHHHHSHHHSHH
Its basically a toy version of an electric wax resist tool (for pysanky eggs the tool is called a “kistka” and for batik the tool is called a “tjanting”).
I’ve never used an electric version of either, but I have several that are held in a flame (I just use tea light candles) to melt the wax inside…using a flame tends to introduce black carbon into the beeswax so the traditional types would not work for color wax, but the electric versions may (there are also all sorts of encaustic wax melters, irons and pens that may potentially work with crayon wax, though I’d suggest looking for something with an adjustable thermostat as surely crayons don’t melt at the same temp as encaustic (which is beeswax and damar from my understanding). A hot plate is sometimes used to hold pots of wax for use with a brush, and heat guns can be used to smooth or alter the surface.
All that to say, I like the idea of drawing with melted crayons, but this Crayola tool looks pretty awkward even in the hand of an adult artist: seems like the company kind of missed the mark with the mechanics for this concept (maybe if it held the crayon the way a glue gun feeds a glue stick to control the quantity of wax being heated…I don’t doubt a melted crayon could spread as far as their chart *if* the wax was spread in a thinner, more even fashion…but it seemed like a lot would blob out all at once as you drew).
It’s too bad the flow is so inconsistent, this seems like a toy that would probably frustrate more than inspire, especially in the hands of a child.
How many Crayola products do you want to use?
Kasey: Y E S
I feel like Kasey and DrawingWiffWaffles always upload on the same days.
They both have set schedules! They just happened to both schedule their uploads on Saturdays
Kasey: There's alot of red in this rainbow...
Me: You could call it a Redbow, hehehe
aw for rainbow during pride month, so so cute! ^-^
Hey Kasey, how you been? I missed you doing your 3D room illustrations. Can you do a room illustration with crayons?
I love the dripping texture and the rainbow looks super nice! Love the transition between the colours! Also.... F for the Dog.
The close up by the end was like some sort of encaustic lava painting.
Another episode Kasey of convincing it’s the year of the crayon loll :DDD
The Crayola Crayon maker is a ton of fun. I had gotten one for my little brother years ago and we still pull it out every so often.
I also used to make art with crayons by masking off a design or character on a canvas, then putting a bunch of crayon shavings on the background area of the canvas and melting them with the hair dryer to make a really marbled background, so that could be fun to try out!
I want more videos if her doing this art!!!! This is so cool!!!!! I love it!
Also, please please do the technique with crayons where you scratch the top waxy layer off afterwards to leave behind just the pigment on the paper.
Don’t worry. When you chipped that piece off of the practice sheet, I wanted to eat it too.
Me too
The amount of red on the dog's side of the gradient along with the wax explosion make this piece look weirdly symbolic
i love your art its so awesome and unique in a good way. You have your own style and its just so cool.
I watch a ton of other artists' videos and ADC Art Attack does a style swap. It would be so cool to see you take a character and redesign it in your style. When I discovered his videos that's what I was hoping he did but your style is by far the coolest. (Along with drawing wiff waffles) LOVE your content!
I think they already did that? Some time ago, but i'd love to see them do it again
Stop I just woke up and I saw you posted and you have no idea how excited I got
Hi Kasey ❣️
I just wanted to say ,you inspire me alot 😁❤️
this would work well with candle wax seals
First thought: encaustic art beginner set! It’s 2 mins into the vid and I am already excited to see what happens. Always wanted to try encaustic art but the thought of my masterpiece accidentally melting down the wall on a hot day or something makes me wary. Great video idea.
I love the crayon videos this was such a fun video
Love the texture!
the egregious amount of pink-red on one side and a rainbow on the other make it look like a lesbian/gay solidarity flag lol
Woah, this really filled my day up with color (no pun intended)
Have you tried doing sand art yet? I’d love to see you try that, imo although it takes a while it’s satisfying snd relaxing
Those crayon snaps are both incredibly satisfying and painful at the same time qwq
I love your crayon videos there so much fun
Love the texture this achieved.
Classic Kasey being able to turn a mess into a masterpiece. While over here when I make a mess it's a whole hot mess😅
Oh goodness, I've seen other reviews where the melter doesn't work well and it turns out to be a disaster. Let's see what Kasey thinks!
Honestly, I like how fuzzy the albino cat and fox look! They look more friendly! And cuddleble
Left looks like the lesbian flag and right the queer flag! 🏳️🌈🍓💕✨ Anyways it's impressive Kasey that you were able to make an entire piece with such a difficult device to control! Congrats for your patience 😨
I was thinking the same with the flags!:)
i remember watching you when i was younger about 3-4 years ago watching you now is so nostalgic
Hello Kasey! Your videos have gotten me out of art block several times and I just want to say thank you! I’m not very good at drawing (do you have any tips??) but I love watching your videos for fun and for practice. How is Canada? I’ve never been. I have a few friends who live there, I’m hoping to travel someday. Your art is amazing. Thanks for reading my random little message!
I'm wondering if you could actually re-melt the hardened wax that peeled off from the paper, in theory it should work, right? Would be less wasteful lol
I really like how the picture turned out. 😁🥰
I have that exact crayon melter, I got it for christmas a couple years ago.
encaustic art would be nice to test to:) The transitions are much more controllable and smooth
I had one of these things....No. Can't wait to see how you handle this xD
The crayons are back! Let's gooo
I want a sequel video of the dog post-vampire transformation after that unfortunate splatter at his neck
(Love the final effect of the piece! ♡)
Naked crayons. Weirdly soft hole. Liquid. Interesting device you have there Kasey.
This is my first Time being early on your Videos and I love your vids😙😆
I enjoy your art.
Coloring page is a regular lion
Kasey : a 𝙎𝙚𝙭𝙮 lion
I could have swore that Kasey would change the picture to the cat murdering the dog after that red crayon explosion lol
Interesting device. Love the illustration. =)
I love it
First video I saw of yours
I like you
You can make candles with it Ms. Kasey
Kasey you should pour the melted crayon as best you can over something create a crazy cemented crayon creature
"I was not expecting a heavy flow."
Says every woman when her Aunt Flo comes to visit.
Honestly, I like the texture of the bubbles and how it's not "smooth" art.
I remember wanting one of these a few years ago lol
I vote for you to try again with the wax melter, now that you know what you're doing with it :D
i'd like to imagine that the dog is just evil and the cat is all pure
How am I supposed to watch this when I can't stop laughing?!
You did amazingly well this was FANTASTIC i have that thing and I am not liking it very much. I can't do as well as you did nor do I have the patience
WELL DONE KASEY
ngl I love how the exploded red wax turned out😂
Ok I’ll say it... nice table Kasey
Maybe you could have used a knife to carve around the splatter the get the shape of the dog you were trying to get before? Like do it a certain way so the rest wouldn't crack? This came out amazing though :D
Artdults are more excited for this thing than children will be 😂
I can’t believe I’m this early, I’m never early to Kasey’s videos :,)
I remember doing this over the stove with crayons and tin foil those were good memories
If you put a piece of paper down on top of the piece and rubbed it, I bet the colors would transfer like a big cool stamp!
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH !
Maybe using parchment and a flat iron could make that gradient flat and smoother!!
This reminds me of working with encaustic paint, god i miss that stuff
You could take a lot of this out of context omg XD
Kasey, how do you be proud, me being an artist, usually I dont think that my artworks are usually aesthetic I guess
Dots seem to be the strong point of this tool, honestly. Beyond that it seems to be hard to get a nice consistent look
Can you imagine the amount of satisfaction you would have scraping the wax off
*Kasey manically trying to not get demonetised*
Kasey must not have seen nerdecrafter throw this crayon melting kit in da trash so she didn't spend her money on it lol so many crayon lives could have been spared if she had.
But the piece turned out very colorful
Ooo ooo the dots...mandala? On wood?
I'm wondering if you can blend the colors when the surface under the paper/cardstock is heated 🤔
with the rainbow and the unfortunate accidental gunshot it almost looks like you've buried your gays 😭😭
kasey's obsession towards one thing is longer than how long i could keep my motivation mad respect
“It’s like wet paint” 😂
If you are willing to try this. You should check out tempera paint sticks.
