We know she could have been like any other famous celebrity like a Kardashian or something and just walked in for like 10 seconds and said "I just wanted you all to know I love you and you all look so pretty!!! BYE GUYS!!! ;)" But within an episode Lady Gaga took notes for every single queen and gave them all SPECIAL and SPECIFIC constructive criticism. She obviously didn't need to do this. Her showing up would still have gotten views, but she clearly wanted to help the queens. That's why I love her

Having Gaga as a guest judge emphasizes how little the regular judges know about fashion. Gaga gets where the queens are coming from, she may not be a drag queen but she knows drag, she knows fashion, she knows their cultural references. Best judge in Drag Race herstory, hands down. Michelle, Carson and Ross could never.

I am so happy Gaga's appearance was ONLY to enrich the girls and not to drag attention towards herself.
Her workroom outfit was made of cheap, drag materials as a tribute to the struggle of drag artists. How you could be 'Lady Gaga' with the simplest of materials.
She kept it simple and minimal during the main show so that the girls in the competition could shine, nothing would take the attention away. Took names of the artists who created the looks so she could give credit where its due, not in a shallow show-off way.
She came backstage not to be pompous and get compliments, but to give meaningful invaluable advice and comments to the girls as someone looking out for them.
Best appearance on the show so far.
dtysk I was a lil worried that if or when Gaga came to the room that it would take the attention off the girls and all of the focus would b on her.
she's so incredible and humble and genuine.. like yes not taking things so seriously is a big part of drag, but she really wanted to tell them how much she appreciated what they do very honestly.. and it's so heartwarming.

To be honest, how could that appearance ever be topped though? She was so respectful but still sweet and warm and she took so much time to try to actually give constructive criticism to every single one of them. The only way this could be topped would be if she would be a permanent judge, I mean she was everything I hoped for and more!

I think that’s why James wasn’t being vulnerable or opening up cos he knows they’ll be at his neck if the wind changes.

Gaga is the best judge that has ever been on. She is the only one who has ever done something like this. Never have I seen someone who has taken notes and shared them with everyone so that they could not only learn from themselves but each other. That was super refreshing!

Riggo Morris Exactly the detail is what made it special... and the setting. She didnt "judge them" (if you feel me when I say that) She sat with them and hung out and gave such good constructive criticism to every single girl which I haven't seen before. Just look at the way she explained to Jaymes (idr if there is a y) that she needed to be more open and true to herself. Even the way Ru and Michelle say it seems kind of like an insult sometimes like "stop hiding behind a character we dont know who you are" while Gaga was like "I totally get what you do I love what you do and I did it too but because this is a competition they want to see the real you and who you are as a person". Not paying attention my ass you can't tell me that another guest judge has gone to the lengths that Gaga did to help the queens.
But the queens embraced the critiques whether criticial or flattering, they don't always receive critiques from judges so well (Aubrey O'Day) just because other judges give detailed critiques doesn't mean there's love and heart behind them otherwise you're just a neutral jerk who isn't saying things to lift people up and help them improve

I really appreciate Lady Gaga making the point that she is not a gay woman but she still uses her celebrity and privilege to help a marginalized group of people! This is an important point of being an ally and doing the right thing. You can help the lgbtq, minorities, immigrants etc without actually being a member of those groups! Be a proper ally and do what is right
The Goddess Demeter, I thought the same - "isn't she bi?" As a fellow bisexual woman trying to be a good ally to the Gay and Trans communities, I can understand her not wanting to center herself when she already has hetero-passing privilege while surrounded by gay and trans beauties. I cannot pretend to understand their struggles, but I can empathize. I think it was right of her to downplay her own queerness in the presence of more presently threatened and marginalized people.

I agree, it was great that she talked about this! She understands her privilege and she tries to use it to make a change. And regarding her bisexuality, I think that's what she referred to when she said "can you stand up for people that you are not necessarily fully part of their community". To me this means that she does see her self as a part of the lgbt community for being bi, but her experiences were quite different from homosexual people and she acknowledges that. The experiences are not the same, she's not going through the same things.
idk I feel like she's still fully part of the community for being bi. I don't think bi people are any less queer. I guess I can kinda see a passing privilege since she did spend several years in a straight relationship, but idk.

I adore Gaga more for expressing her admiration for the gay community. I can totally relate, being raised by my mother who was called a "fag hag" (old term, hate it) in the south. Her friends were a group of gay males of every type. They raised me...taught me how to walk in heels, carry myself like a lady, and how to properly put on makeup. Most important of all they taught me how to love myself. Most of them passed a away in the 90's. It takes a true solider to *live your life* and I'm a better woman because of the gay men that raised me...

She’s the only guest judge that took this "judging" seriously, even though they made a runway for her, she really gave them constructive criticism to be better. After this episode or so, they made ALL the guest judge come to Untucked and it’s so cheap for me. There’s no genuine moments or connection unlike this episode with Lady Gaga. I met Lady Gaga years ago in Manhattan. She was coming out of a high rise, she gave me a big hug and signed my luggage.
I'm so happy for Nina. I've seen her comments on WoW and her makeup look with James way before she got in the competition and she has always left the sweetest comments. She is so humble and lovely, and a true artist.

Needless to say, that's the push he needed to become a better person he is today. I hope it'll do the same for Jaymes and the other queens, just to embrace love and support ^^ and yes, she seems very genuine and just oozing with love all over. Lady Gaga should be a permanent judge on this show and this proves it. She understands fashion, she understands drag and the process that goes into it, she has great critiques and has literally gone backstage to the queens with notes for each of them to explain how they can improve their fashion and their drag to become better. What more is there to explain? She’s amazingly talented and beautiful.
She’s too busy for that. But one episode a season, yes.

Gawd!!!!! I wish Gaga could be the judge the whole season. She was a phenomenal as the guest judge. So humble and so constructive for the queens.
When Charlie stopped everyone to point out that Jaymes is quiet, I hated it. I’m sure it was a good intention, but by putting someone so quiet in the spotlight like that, I felt so bad for her.
Agreed, Charlie could have gone about it in so many different ways but it came out rather demeaning. Definitely not the best way to start a conversation lol

Milen Kolev Charlie definitely sees the bigger picture: the real challenge begins after drag race. He knows that the start is to build a fan base while on the show, so it was nice of him to shine some light on James.
