I went Tuesday to pick up my AFO and I absolutely hated it. I felt very awkward and off balance like I was going to walk into the wall and for this kind of money I said no way and called Mt Podiatrist and he scanned me for custom orthotics.
My AFO has helped me to walk again without falling. But it is uncomfortable. I’m only ok with it for an hour or so and then my foot becomes swollen and the pain is unbearable. I bought two pairs of tennis shoes to wear with it after trying shoes for three days. I’m not sure if the shoes are the issue or the AFO. My AFO is a carbon on and the shoes are high tops tennis shoes. I got half a size bigger than my actual size because a whole size bigger made it too lose for me.
