Can you leave your prosthetic leg on and never take it off?

my pin is all janky, loosing its lock and popping off the gear… i’ve tried everything… parts are all fresh and flawless… help!

wow. i myself i think i have positional Scaphocephaly because i was born prematurely. i was just laying on the sides in the hospital my mom says. and the things u said about speech and adhd are completely true. i stutter and i have really bad adhd. although i don't think i have intelectual problems or any of that that you said after 🤣😅. i just wish i got this fixed 😒

Oh I was hoping you would discuss going into your senior years. Relatively speaking. No one talks about us oldies and what to expect or just live long enough to find out. I am a full time user. Age, 75, BK-amputee for 14 years (traumatic/accident cause). Over all healthy. Love my mobility. Just curious.

I don't know how long sposed to ware one my poditrest see me regulary to check on my foot what I expirence is hard walking is hard yes but worse with out the boot I live in cool Eureka CA area but if it got hot like Redding leg would sweet not good for skin be uncoforly metel loops on top break but easly fixed velcrow had to be replaced once lasts year thx for heds up on the pading could need replacement this boot enables me to walk not bound to a wheelchair I have Shaircot

I use that metal brace. I tried the plastic brace but it hurt a lot and I am 90% paralyzed on my whole left side. I was trying to walk in an odd way so my foot did not hurt and I still wore out the toe of my shoe with the plastic brace. I do not have that problem with the metal brace, it holds my foot correctly and lets me do a variety of activities without any worries, such as square dance .

I go in a couple of weeks to get casted for bilateral kafos cause I have really bad knick knee, knee instability along with bad ankle instability. Any advice for wearing them and getting adjusted to wearing the braces

I do and have for the pass 8 years after my big ass fall😂 I shower my leg first in the bathroom sink use my swimming prosthesis then switch to my everyday leg💪🏽💪🏻💪🏼

I’d like to know if the gauntlet brace is really effective for pain? I’m a severe pronator and will soon be 60 years old. I have dealt with severe pain in both feet for most of my life. I have worn orthotics for years and my podiatrist has recommended this first before getting surgery. I’m at the end of my rope from always searching for a place to sit down. It’s getting harder to work every day dealing with this. Thank you for this video and any additional information you can provide.

I went Tuesday to pick up my AFO and I absolutely hated it. I felt very awkward and off balance like I was going to walk into the wall and for this kind of money I said no way and called Mt Podiatrist and he scanned me for custom orthotics.

I have a question any of you out there what do you think how long do you have to have this on for is this something you have to have on for the rest of your life or like the video says or in a period of time?

I use the metal brace that is attached to the shoe on my left foot because I have drop foot. I tried the plastic AFO but it hurt my foot so much. I got to the point where I was trying to walk so it would not hurt and I was still dragging my foot. The metal brace is perfect for me and lets me do everything I enjoy such as square dancing.

I’m getting one of these. Hope it will be better than the suction leg. Hate that one.

The other thing is that we dont need to immitate the motion of the ankle because my AFO doesnt bend in the ankle and my shoe doesnt have a rocker bottom and i do just fine with that as so does millions of other people proving that the rocker bottoms are a fantacy some idiot dreamed up in their head one day so please get rid of this rocker bottom myth and start building them with the bottoms like a regular shoe bottom..Lastly,there should be a choice of bottom tred options for the customers to accommodate the lifestyles of a varity of peoples needs then watch the sales go way up.

The biggest problem with all of these medical boots including the cam walkers and crow boots is that god dam rocker bottoms on them as that would be considered by any home health company as a "FALL HAZARD"and so if you wanted to hike thats never going to work,two i am willing to bet its just like the cam walkers open toed so no hiking through water would get your feet wet as well and lastly doing a monthly doctors visit is a big NO for me as i have way too many doctor appointments with other specialists to do all of the time.You seriously need to start making these things to the customers liking in order to get more people to wear them and having to go through extra training to learn how to walk with them is a big turn off to many people too as these things should be as easy as putting on your shoes and walking normal.My current foot doctor wants me to get one of these and the answer right now must be a giant no until they become customer friendly as any AFO.

My leg brace goes up to the knee and it is attached to the shoe which is comfortable for me. When I had to go back to wearing a brace, I tried a plastic brace and it hurt my foot so much and I still wore out the toe of my shoe. With my metal brace which is attached to my shoe there is no pain, there is no toe drag and I can do so much such as square dancing. In my opinion, if you have to wear a leg brace, pick one that gives you the best support even though it may not be the most stylih one.
