I had a 79 Coupe. I was in the Army then. I drove the wheels off from Ft Gordon Ga to Delaware every weekend i was off. That car NEVER owed me a Penny. I traded it in on a Chevy Camaro with the Cross fire engine. The Camaro was the LAST Chevy I ever owned. JUNK from the 1st week I bought it. But again the Monza I had was a GREAT car. V-6 4 Speed, AC, AM/FM cassette, Honey Beige paint color, Tan interior.
I had a 1980 Coupe red with red interior with the red Wheels 3.8V6 3speed auto trans It was a great little car I brought it used in 92. The car was super clean in and out It had a 138,000 miles on it when I sold it for a grand in 1994. Vehicle didn't give me one ounce of trouble. A/C was always super cold and I took out the AM radio and replaced it with a AM/FM cassette radio.
Guy shifting the 4 speed wearing Paul Lynde's jacket. Why was it so hard for US automakers to design a decent small car. PS In CA there was an option for 5.0L because the smogged out smaller engines had no power at high elevations.

So if these shared the lots with the new Citation, the Cavalier replaced the Monza?
I appreciate deeply the kind of videos you share 😊

I loved these when they came out. I wonder why they didn't sell? Was it because it was based on the vega?
They sold a bunch.Over 700,000 in 6 years.Add the Olds and Pontiac versions and it's over 1million
The ones from 1975 to 1977 did have the Vega engines.
The 1978 and later had better engines.
P.S. deeply appreciate, I’m a french Canadian from Québec city.
0:41 identical to my first car!
