@ Apparently links have disappeared. They were on this video. I've been visiting The Studio Rats web frequently with the hope of finding more Kemper profiles, but no luck. Truly, the two profiles I downloaded here are some of the best I've heard on my Kemper (I have a lot of paid-for profiles from the most Kemper-popular folks).
I'm 8 years in with Kemper and still love it. I use a combination of my own profiles and some MBritt ones. Sound engineers love it and the covenience factor is amazing. I have tried QC, AXE, Line 6 etc....but the Kemper stll works best for me..
Thank you for this demonstration of the versatility of the Kemper. I've been using a Kemper for years now and just recorded an album with it. The studio engineers were blown away how great it sounded. I look forward to testing out your shared profiles on Rig Exchange!
The Kemper profile of your Matchless sounds even better than the Fractal comparison to my ears. Sounds incredible! My only struggle with the Kemper is that pickups very so much in a guitar that I may LOVE the profile I purchase when hearing it played in demos, but then it's not quite the same when played through my personal guitars with the pickups being different... That's where I feel like even the the Fractal isn't quite as accurate, it's much more adjustable. Love both and have owned both, but could never decide what I liked more 😬 haha
I do like the kemper, but there's always this subtle shrill quality in the top end on distorted tones that is not in the real thing. With a (preferably valve) overdrive stomp in front, I'm happy with it, through my Fatso ELX7.
It's the sound of the amp for sure, but I just feel that there might be just a little bit more string separation on the amp. It might be bias because it wasn't a blind test.
I’m considering getting a kemper. I primarily play at home at fairly low volume. I love the sounds of overdriven Marshall’s. I have been approximating such a tone with some small modeling amps but have grown increasingly interested in the kemper. Do you recommend the power version or non powered ? I’m assuming I would ideally get some nice studio monitors to use for my home jamming ? Any input would be appreciated.
Always buy the powered version if you can afford it and it's within your budget. Even if you don't use the Poweramp at home too often it nice to have that Poweramp available if one day you want to use it.
@@guitartoneSA Thanks for the info. So basically the powered version does all the same things as the non powered except I’d also have the option to use it for live playing and gigs and such? I think I could swing the extra money if it’s partially useful. I think I would primarily be using this at home with bedroom volumes playing a long to backing tracks and music. I just want to be able to get all these great tones in one box AND achieve a great tone at low volume. So I would probably use good studio monitors. Can’t you also plug this into combo amps that have an effects loop and and basically use that speaker? Thanks!
@@slashtrio Yes the Powered Kemper is identical and does everything the unpowered version does...only difference, the built in Poweramp. Yes you can plug the Kemper into the FX return of any tube amp or solid-state amp and make use of the Poweramp section. In this video I did in a friend's studio we plugged a Kemper Stage into the FX return of a solid state Marshall MGFX100. The audio you're hearing, we miced the room with a Zoom to capture the sound in the room ..it sounded amazing. ua-cam.com/video/fShRn52lqA0/v-deo.html
@@guitartoneSA thanks really cool and sounds awesome! Well done. Hmm, maybe I don’t need the powered version. I plan to use studio monitors but I also have a katana 100 watt MKIII and an older Marshall 1x12,combo that could presumably replicate what you guys are doing there?
I hope some day I have the confidence to get a kemper. I just dont know if I would understand how to use it lol. Im going to have my wife watch this video. Shes my I.T. Dept. Youd have a great ear Paul and If you say it sounds like it then it does. thanks again
Not sure if I'm over thinking this...but..You have profiled the Matchless amp using a Telecaster and yes it sounds awesome and indistinguishable from the actual Matchless & Tele combination. However, if I buy a Kemper, PC etc etc and download this patch for myself then put a Les Paul through it, will it be a true representation of a les paul going direct through a Matchless or will it sound like a les paul using the Telecasters sonics of a Matchless captured through a Kemper? Hope this makes sense.
Top class comparison video. I had to put on some headphones to have a really good listen. In the past, when I have watched other comparison videos of profiling amps, the amp always tends to sound a bit brighter with more sparkle than the profiler . However, this time the profile of the matchless was almost the same to me ears. Incredible!!! I now need to try a kemper, to see how it feels and responds to one’s playing
For what it’s worth, the feel is noticeably better than many digital options out there I’ve used, and what’s even better is at any point you can modify the feel using adjustments to the settings. It’s not an easy piece of kit to use, but I’m over the moon happy with what it does for me. Very solid piece of kit.
To me feel is not that great. You dont have tubes and speaker to give you fullnes, sustain and air push. You can hear micked sound and this is ok trough monitors and headphones...but its is still unnatural feal that you'll have trough tube amp and speaker with overtones, squeals and natural fullnes/compession...Everything in electric guitar world have some adventages and flaws. I dont want to speak about latency that I can hear...I have kemper and amps and perfer amps in terms of feel by large margine.
Sounds Great! I actually owned one of the firsts KPA sold in Canada back in the day, but the only amp i profiled with was a Mesa Nomad 55 combo. Sold it a year after to buy an Axe FX II, because I didn't like the fact that when you bypass the cab, the amp is still colored (not completely raw). Would be curious to hear the difference with a capture done with the QC! Next video maybe? : ) Cheers Paul!
When you make as many videos as I do you tend to stick to familar parts, 1. becouse Im trying to think about what to say and how best to describe what im trying to review. 2. I am doing a product demo Im not demonstrating how well or not I can play.
That gentle dirt of your Matchless is THE hardest sound to emulate. I am super impressed by how well the Kemper nailed it.
I just downloaded the three Matchless profiles. Honestly, they sound better than some paid-for profiles out there. Thanks man!
Hey dude, where you downloaded ? I wanna too

Just downloaded the profiles , beautiful sounds !
Thank you very much for putting out this content.
God bless !

Thank you for the profiles in rig exchange! They are terrific! They sound amazing!
I’m glad you like them.
Thanks Paul, your a champ!
Thanks Paul. Subscribed! Straight talking, to the point & pro playing that knows a great tone and how to get it. All my boxes ticked. Thanks again.
Great video, i downloaded the profile and all 3 sound brilliant, especially the clean(er) profile. Well done, thanks
Thank you for the contribution in the rig exchange! Will check it out and see if I can then play like you! 😅
Thanks again Paul
Well done 👍 my Matchless brother!!!

Sounds great man, thanks for sharing the profiles!
OMG , its FREE ! incredible!
Brilliant profiles! Thanks for them. I gave them a plug on the Kemper user forums.
Thanks for sharing the profiles and fantastic video as always! I love this channel !!!!
Excellent video, Profile sounds fantastic! 👏👍
Thanks Paul for the profile, me like!
Just downloaded. Thanks so much for doing this.
Really enjoyed this man! Really looking hard at a Kemper.
Please do some more profiles of your other amps. Would love the Amp1 tones you get.
What a stunning sound, thx for this great demo !!!
Sounds Amazing! Can't wait to get off work and try these out!!
Those are superb profiles
Just put your 3 profiles onto my Kemper 😍 ooooh my 👌🏻 they are awesome 👏
Great video. Thanks. Wow...they really do sound identical.
Sounds great !!!
Well Played Sir
Very tasteful Tone! It's - as always - in the fingers ...
Nice. You should also make a performance of this profile.
Ill have to look up what that is. but thanks for the advice.
Loving your work👍. Is the Kemper you use the un-powered version or the power head? Ta.
Cheers, the unpowered on.
Will this work in the kemper player? They sound great!

I think Kempers are still very relevant. I’ve had mine for 5 years now and still love it. The powered version is great

Looks like the WA12 MK2 was receiving signal was that in the chain too ?
Hello. I’m keen to get these profiles, but my computer says the files are corrupted. Anyone else had this issue?
How would you be monitoring these profiles in a live setting?. Sounding awesome here
Either using in-ears or through an FRFR speaker

What happened to your Quad Cortex?
I sold it I couldnt get on with it in the end. Again i think it was in in early stages of the software, i bet its great now.

Uncanny! What about the feel?
surprisingly it feels great.

One more thing. If someone have profile/rig with "singing" lead tone that doesn't sound thin...let me know I will gladly pay for it ;)
Can you share?
Its close but in the top mid freqs there is more dynamics in the matchless. 2d kemper,, 3d Matchless,,, IMO modlers are still not there...
The real beauty of the Kemper lies in what you're doing here.
that is: profiling your own favorite amps, set and mic'ed the way YOU like them.

If there’s a difference, it’s indiscernible to me over UA-cam.
Compare the tone with your favorite of the IR200 and save me $1500 😂
The Kemper is great, but I just cannot afford $2,500 for it. Sigh
You are obviously a good player Paul but you play mostly the same thing on every video. Good info though.

It does sound very very close but the matchless is still brighter a little bit!
The thumbnail looks like you've got no arms.😂
