I have been living in the Netherlands for the last 3 years, and have visited many towns and places, but this is exceptional. People living here are so fortunate. What a peaceful, lush green land.
I happen to live here ;) I'm truly grateful and it really is a wonderful experience, especially during spring/summer when everything is alive. Tourism can get quite busy tho
Peaceful ????????? My Aunt lives there the only time she and her family can enjoy is when there are no tourist ....than she has to put up with vulgar language, noise, carbage etc etc
@@Lioness1948 Yup. Unfortunately, that's every beautiful place in the modern world that is not locked away within a gated community. I have learned the hard way that what you want is to live very close to beauty and utility, but not squarely in the middle of it.
Just watching this video lowered my blood pressure and made my heart beat at a peaceful rate. I can only imagine what it would feel like actually being there.
Giethoorn is very beautiful, just like in a fairy tale. On weekends it can get very busy with all those tourists. I can also recommend Hindeloopen and Orvelte.
This has to be the most picture perfect, story book location ever....evokes many emotions. How lucky the people are to live in such a gorgeous location. I have picked out many houses I could easily live in 😄
My father often told me about how great the Netherlands built their country & their cities..but I never knew that they also have such a pretty & stunning village esp on the rivers. Thank you for sharing the video of your visit there..

The Netherlands is clean, least polluted, good and peaceful. The government and its people are cooperative towards each other and doing great for the country. I like The Netherlands. It is a scenic beauty.
We visited this place a couple of years ago. We drove through flat and boring fields for ages and ended up at a car park/cafe/canal berth and thought, "this is it after hours of driving?" Then we saw people coming up the road and walked to where they had just come from. We found what you see in the video, except that it was absolutely chokka with tourists and there were tailbacks of boats on the canal. It's also a bit larger than you think, especially as you have to walk back to the car too. A bit like Bourton-on-the-water, but perhaps larger (or longer).
