    HYPE!!!! Was an early backer on the V1 and can't wait for my V2 Lithium to arrive. Dominic and his team are doing wonderful work in this space 🚀

    Got my V2 lithium. I didn't like the V1 because it didn't have enough rpms for me because I froth over a cup of milk at one time. But the v2 lithium is a huge upgrade. Love it.

    Would like to know more about how the screens mount. The old ones were useless in the way they relied purely on pressure from the impeller housing (which eventually cracked) to stay in..

    • @subminimal
      @subminimal  2 роки тому +7

      The new ones snap fit with a click (no more pressure fit). The impeller is also made of Polycarbonate now, so it will be far more durable. It is also replaceable in the event that it should break.

    0:22 "The V2 is 25% stronger, while the Lithium is 300% more powerful." Are these referring to the same variable (which is what exactly?) or are there two seperate incomparable variables 'strength' and 'power' that are being discussed?

    Hi, is the motor also good? the second most annoying issue of the foamers apart from the battery is the dead/oxidized motor, does this product come with a good motor/engine inside or is it the chinese cheap motor as the generic foamers?

    Is with lithium we need to change battery after a long usage or same as mobiles just charge it with charger for example ?

      The Lithium version is rechargeable, and the battery does not need replacing. Just plug it into a USB-C charger, and you're done.

    So basically the V2 is what the V1 should have been to begin with. I assume the issue with the switch not triggering, necessitating that the contact strip be bent, has been fixed.

    Do you have recommendation for oatly milk such as aeration etc?

    • @subminimal
      @subminimal  2 роки тому +1

      I can't speak for Oatly specifically, but with most milk alternatives, you need to aerate longer than with regular milk to create enough initial bubbles that you later turn into microfoam. I also find you get better results with the fine Nanoscreen versus the superfine with most milk alternatives. Make sure you use a Barista edition for best results also.

    • @subminimal

      I recommend the Lithium because it's way more powerful as it uses a 3.7V built-in battery. You can never get that amount of power out of two AA batteries.

    How long does the charge on the lithium version last? How often would you need to recharge it if you use it only once a day?

    • @subminimal
      @subminimal  2 роки тому +1

      You can use it about 60 time for 30 seconds before you start noticing it is slowing down. That means charging once a month if making 2 coffees a day so in your case even less often than that.

    What really pains me in lithium devices like that is cell i can't change when they degrade and hold less charge. It would be so nice to see things use 18650 cells more often even at cost of a bit larger size. Otherwise great thing.

    • @dominicsymons5406
      @dominicsymons5406 2 роки тому +2

      I hear you, and we're looking into something like this. At the same time, the NanoFoamer Lithium only really needs charging once or twice a month. The cell we use is rated for over 500 full charge cycles, giving it a theoretical shelf life of 20-40 years. We all know that real life is not always the same as written ratings, but we do expect it to last a very long time.

    Would have gotten the Lithium version, but I absolutely detest one-button-mode-cycling bs. Why not have a seperate switch for speed and an ON/OFF button...

    • @subminimal
      @subminimal  Рік тому

      When you start, you always want to start at full speed to get good aeration so it starts on the max speed, then toward the end, you can slow down and polish your milk at the slower speed if you like, if you don't want to, then just double click to stop it. It's simple.

    • @Naegimaggu
      @Naegimaggu Рік тому

      @@subminimal I remember in one of the videos as part of the workflow, when you take the nanofoamer out of the milk, he briefly spins it to clear it of the remaining milk residue. I'm curious how the mode cycling of the Lithium version affects this part of the workflow?

    • @subminimal

      @@Naegimaggu click on, then double-click off. Or click on, then click again for slow mode, then click for off.

    • @Naegimaggu
      @Naegimaggu Рік тому

      @@subminimal Yes, I realize in theory this is how it's supposed to work.
      I haven't tested this exact product, but having tested other products with similar functionality; in practice there's always unregistered clicks leading to the device staying on after you've administered the required amount of clicks and because the unreliability of the action can lead to misjudging the state that the device is currently in, one will end up double clicking and turning it off and on again.
      This is on top of it requiring up to 100% more clicks to turn the device on/off or to the mode you wish it to be in.

    Wish to check V2 vs Lithium, which is better given I already having Eneloop Pro batteries?

    • @subminimal
      @subminimal  2 роки тому +3

      The Lithium is way more powerful than the Eneloop Pro batteries because two AA batteries equals 2.4V but the built-in Lithium battery is 3.7V. You will never be able to match that amount of power with any AA battery. The Lithium therefore has a two-speed option to slow it down, and the slow speed is about the same as the full speed on the V2.

    • @13tcc
      @13tcc 2 роки тому +1

      @@subminimal If the slow speed is like that of the V2 when would you ever use the high speed on the lithium version? Which speed would yield better results for making foam?

    • @subminimal
      @subminimal  2 роки тому +4

      If you're making larger quantities of milk, the high speed will be crucial. However, even on smaller quantities, it can be faster and easier. For very small quantities, the slower speed is recommended.
      1. After aerating, you can move far over to the side and don't need to keep that fine balance to maintain a stable vortex. It is powerful enough to pull down the foam even when it is quite far off the center. This makes it a little easier to use.
      2. Then if you have a few bubbles left floating around on the surface, slow it down to speed 2, create that usual vortex and capture those last bubbles. It's like a final grooming at the slower speed.
