Regarding the kindness rocks: My mom was killed 17 years ago yesterday at age 66 by a drunk driver. She is always on my mind and I miss her, especially when doing activities with my sister. A couple of years ago my sister and I took a trip to the Washington coast, staying in a lighthouse keeper's house which we knew our mom would have loved doing with us. While hiking on a trail, I happened to glance at a log bordering the trail. Much to my surprise, there was a painted rock with the word HOPE on it. That was my mom's favorite word, so I then knew that she was with us on that trip. I took the rock, of course.
🙏🙏. I’m so sorry for your loss. My mother got hit by a three fourths ton truck walking in a parking lot. She made it after being in a medical induced coma for over 6 months. And years of rehabilitation and hospitals. My ❤ goes out to you. 🙏🙏😢😢
Hi Courtney!!! Love all the projects…the kindness rocks and the little ghosts around the campfire!!! One summer, when our granddaughter was just 3 years old, we painted some rocks white. Once they dried, she painted little designs on the rocks (squiggly lines, polka dots or just little blobs)!! She used neon bright colored paint to make the designs. She couldn’t wait to take them to their camper to weight down the napkins once her mom set the picnic table for breakfast!!! The rocks served their purpose and looked so cute on the table for each meal. She was so proud of them!!!
Several years ago a young girl in our campground started painting rocks and hiding them for others to find and re-hide. This young lady just graduated from college and the rock hunting is still going strong! We have rock painting parties several times during the summer to make new rocks to find.
I am definitely going to do this! I am a cancer patient and I go to a Cancer Center for my treatments. I am going to leave my rocks at the Cancer Center for the patients and their families to find. I love this!
Love this video and will definitely be participating in the kindness rock challenge. It was very relaxing just watching you create that rock start to finish, so I would love more UA-cam short ideas for rocks. I have a hard time coming up with my own ideas, but definitely could copy your great ideas to put on rocks! Thanks for another great video!
Great idea. Love it. I went on vacation 2 years ago. A place that my husband loved, and we went many times. I went to sit on a chair near the pool area and found a crotched heart. It was so pretty. I do not remember what it said, but it made my day. It was like a sign from my deceased husband. When I inspected later, I noticed there was a note attached to it. Again, I don't remember the exact words, but the purpose was to bring joy to someone and to also pass it on. They also wanted you to post it on Facebook to see how far it would travel. At first, I did not want to give it up., about 2 weeks later I had a doctor's appointment at the oncologist, and I decided to leave it there on a chair, and I did post it on the Facebook group page. It was interesting to read about the group and their mission and where the hearts have traveled. I will never forget this. I will be participating in the rock challenge. The great thing is that I am traveling to that same spot this year in 2 weeks and I think I will leave it there and hopefully bring joy to the person who finds it like when I found the heart. The ghosts are adorable. Cute cactus. Nice trivet. Have an awesome week. I am so excited about doing the rocks.
Oh I love that! I do write a little note on the back of the rocks as well letting them know they can take it, leave it, or give it away and then ask that they tag.
@jodeez - so sorry for the loss of your Mother. I love your idea of having the rocks at her service. That is such a unique way to honor her memory. I'm keeping you in my prayers.
All the children in my neighborhood made these during Covid in 2020. It caught on quickly and all of Kingwood Texas had rocks everywhere. Some were so beautiful but they were all very special. Love the idea, glad you did this. 🩵🩵🩵
My favorites were the kindness rock project and I like the idea of putting scripture verses on them. I also loved the ghosts around the firepit. There are so many ways you could go with that for the different holidays. Thanks Courtney for these great rock ideas.
I love the organic feel of working with rocks. Many years ago I covered a wine bottle in these little Dollar Tree River Rocks and I still have it to this day and it seems like I was the only one that liked it my family did not ooo and aaah over it but I didn't care it's what I like and I love the trivet it just brought back those vibes and the kindness rocks I remember seeing that about 20 years ago and wanted to do it and just never got around to it so I think I'm going to put that on my to-do list also.
Hi these diys are so stinkin cute....❤ I like the idea of the river rocks to give people a lift after the devastation of Beryl or just to bring a smile 😊 Little ghosts are adorable with the campfire, trivet plate is super cute and a step up from just the plate by itself.....TFS your great diys.....❤
I am a patient at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I had chemo last year and could not fathom getting through it. A family started making rocks and putting them in the garden I walked by on the way in. It is heartwarming. They painted a shell saying take a rock, leave a rock. I am into ladybugs. There was one there and the woman handed it to me. Just a small gesture to make a stranger smile. If I could figure out how to show you!
I L.O.V.E. those kindness rocks. I hope someone in your area finds them and feels better about all the trouble Beryl brought. So glad your damage was minor. I'm about 45 miles northwest of Waco and was hoping for a bit of rain from Beryl, but alas, we only got two very brief showers. However, the clouds for the day were great at keeping the temps down. Good luck with your repairs.
I love these rocks. What a sweet idea. I am sure they will make someone very happy. Sorry for no electricity. Hope your family is doing well after the hurricane. ❤❤❤
❤I Have wanted to work on these for a while now, I found a couple in the last year and they always make me so happy! Thank you for the inspiration, now I and ready to get mine done, so I can spread the joy! ❤
I love the kindness rock idea❣️ The world needs more kind words spread around, and hopefully, I will be able to participate. We have a trip coming up, and I will have surgery when we get back.
I love all the rocks you made. My mom and me use to do pet rocks with different saying on the bottom of them. I love 💕 the placing the rocks where people could find the gem of the day.
I love your river rocks. I didn’t know about the kindness project but I painted rocks with my grandchildren at “Grandpa Z. Camp” last month. My husband has been having a sleep out in our backyard with our grandchildren every summer since the oldest was 3. She will be 18 in August. There are 11grandchildren now-ages 6-18! The older kids still look forward to Grandpa Z. Camp every summer. The painted rocks were a big hit!
Love, love, luv the kindness rocks project!!! What a sweet, meaningful thing to do. It would be nice to do these every so often and keep a set in your car, so wherever you go, you can leave one. Neat way to make someone's day. Gotta go get me some rocks...💗💗💗 Fun and simple thing to do. (Loved Smile... happy looks good on you)!!
I have been thinking about you so much lately. In June my mom fell and broke her hip. She was 80 and unfortunately she passed away within a week. I have loved the idea of kindness rocks. I grew up watching my mom and her mom collect rocks for their gardens. Rocks always make me think of my mom & her mom and my children. What kid doesn’t love rocks!Thinking about painting rocks for people to take at her memorial, as well as some to just randomly hide for people to find. Besides what a great excuse to buy some acrylic paint markers. I finally I truly understand the depth of what you are going through when you talk about missing your mom. Sorry for your loss. 😢❤
I love, love your kindness, rock idea!❤ As always, Courtney, all of your diys are amazing, but my favorite is your ghosts sitting around the campfire! So cute!😍 As always, Courtney, thank you for sharing all of your hard work, creativity, talent, and inspiration! Stay safe, healthy, and positive! God bless you and your family!🙏❤️🇺🇸😊
What a fun, inexpensive way to make others smile. I love the idea of decorating and hiding the rocks around the town. Thanks for sharing. Now, someone come to my town and hide some so I can find one 🙂
I love the idea of painting kindness rocks and dispersing them in public places. My Great Niece just asked me today if I would paint rocks with her, this must be why. I really loved the little Ghost scene too. So very cute! Have a Great week, Be Blessed. 💞
Your creativity always amazes me! The campfire ghosts are so cutè and the cactus is right up my alley for decor! The rock trivet is beautiful and functional. I must say that my favorite is the kindness rock project! I will get started on this right away. Thank you for inspiring all of us to be better and kinder people!
So very cool. I wish I was not anticipating a move and life change. Taking up another craft is against the downsizing project. The Ghosts and trivet are tempting me.
It is really amazing how something so simple can impact another person in such a positive way. I have come across one of these before and it made me smile. I took a picture of it but I left it for someone else to find and enjoy. What a great video! I think it is a great idea and I hope to participate, despite my lack of drawing/painting ability. I do love positive sayings and quotes and I think I can handle adding some decorative detail. Your Ghost campfire was so cute!
I totally understand your loss. My daughter passed away 9 years ago in September. We are raising our 3 grandkids since her passing. We were almost empty nesters until this happened. Our youngest best one is now in the 9th grade. Everyone tells me it gets easier, I would say there are days that are okay but not the shattered heart. I think this is why I became a hoarder with crafting. I guess it could be worse. Praying for you
Omg I love that idea with the rocks & placing them around the town that is to cool, and the trivet & cactus are awesome tfs and glad you & family are doing good. Big Thumbs Up 👍🥰🙏

❤ You rock, Courtney. I love the idea of kindness rocks. I'm going to do this with my grandchildren. ❤
I have done this with scripture verses. God will lead the person to it who needs it. Love this idea with the rocks.

Yes, to kindness rocks shorts. 😊
Courtney, I so enjoyed this vide😁 you're so creative, it's too hard to pick a fave bc they are all so fun, cute, and happy! I'd have to say the colorful sun rock w/different patterns and colors, wording that says; Know Your Worth' and you have such nice writing it's so straight! All the details on each rock make them sparkle even more. 2nd fave is the beautiful butterfly your daughter painted 😍that's so cool that your son and daughter enjoy being artistic like you. Whomever finds each rock is for sure going to feel special😍
I liked the ghost one
All of these are awesome, but I really love the trivet. Courtney, if you want a plant you can't kill get an air fern. No soil, no water. It just survives on air. My house isn't suited to plant life. Old farmhouse with wacky windows, so I only have one plant by my kichen window. Fortunately, it is a pathos, which are pretty easy to grow. I don't have a green thumb either. 😢
I might have to try that!!
