- Quinta Katinka: off-grid farm of Katja and Robin in Central Portugal!
The heat started and we are mostly busy with gardening. Mulching, shading, watering are part of our daily routine. We also started to create more natural shade by trees. They will need time to grow of course, but its a start :)
And this is the link to the video we mentioned: • From a Dry Field to a ...

Rita is such a happy dog 🐶
Yes she is!
Thank you for sharing your ideas and life with us. Bless you both.
All the best Nadia
Well interesting, enjoyed it very much, thanks guys,
Thank you!
Real pleasure to have such lovely dogs in the homestead ,great to see the farm giving back after all the efforts put in ,the sheep look ok for a first time using that machine ,thanks for sharing with us your progress
Ahh, 40 degrees C? That's HOT! I found out that the hot weather isn't so bad with low humidity but when the humidity is tropical (like we are experiencing here in Connecticut) there are only two solutions. Get wet or fire up the motorcycle and go for a ride! The farm is looking great! Thanks for the video, Katja and Robin, stay "COOL"!
Yes, true. I often wet my t shirt and cap. It helps a lot!
jolly good show! glue the shadecloth edges
Ahhh una esquiladora 🐑😂😂😂 vale vale!!!! Pobriñas qué susto... Ostrasss así no...., se empieza de abajo todo parejo para que quede la manta... Bueno no tienen bastante lana... Mis paisanos son campeones mundial 3n esquila.... Y algo aprendí.... Mejor que antes están 👏👏👏👏👏 tan lindas son 🐑🐑🐑😍😍😍
Another great, beautiful, entertaining vídeo. Thanks for sharing!!!
You are welcome
You both have such a wonderful life there in portugal. Love the pups and your videos are great!
Thank you Jeanne!
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, nice garden guys good work 👍😁.
Thanks Arjan
For a first time you did a good job remember the sheep want mind and feel cooler
Thank you!
You have to heat up the edge of the netting with a heat air gun or gas burning device to weld the ends and stop the phrasin
😊😮❤very nice
I am in Canada. Nova Scotia have their horrendous fires undercontrol but still burning elsewhere. It is really hard to believe that it is causing your skies to be like that. Great to follow your progress.
Yes, crazy. It must be really bad. Terrible destruction. Of course we get a lot of wildfires here in the summer too, but not on the same scale.
Love your video Many Thank's
Thank you!
Such a lovely video. Thank you ❤
You could also try singeing the edges of the shade cloth to prevent fraying.
Assistimos o seu vídeo daqui do Brasil
And harry too
good for you to give it a go. Those clippers did not look very sharp you are right. Cheers to you for trying...Gina in Upstate NY USA. Headed to Portugal for 3 months to look for a small farm in December. Keep inspiring
Thanks Gina . Come to visit when you are over here!
@@offgridquintakatinka that would be wonderful. I will be there in Dec 15 through March 15. I am making plans. Looking at different areas. Watching all of you doing youtube videos . It's so fun. I am very excited. See you guys then. Until then keep inspiring. Cheers Gina
@@offgridquintakatinka I arrive in December will do. Thanx
I enjoy the videos ! Poor sheep are now having a “ Bad hair day” 😂 I’m curious, are the sheep just pets? Or can you milk them and make cheese?🤔
Yes they are! They are just friends that we look after, but they help with the grass mowing!
The smokey sun looks very dystopian, Joe from Farmer for Fun has sheep, wonder who sheers his, not sure how far you are from him, he is in Fundao, maybe with better clippers, you would have better result, seems anything labour related, depending on location can be challenging to procure a service from, even artisans from what I have gathered, so it is a good thing, you did it yourself, sheep looked happy enough😊
Yes, maybe I can find someone to sharpen the clippers properly.
Hej you have to Cut the green nets with something hot so they fuse together
Well if they're anything like clippers for dogs, that looks like a blade for leaving the hair (wool) a bit longer. Not skin close in other words. Did they include any other blades?
No, just those blades. You couldn't tell but I was having to push hard to get them to cut most of the time.
Wish you could bottle Rita’s energy and ship it to me!
Haha, we'd make a fortune!
Sheep shearers aren't interested in anything under 20 sheep. We will be getting the haired variety that don't need shearing.
Que es? Un corta pelo👀👀👀😁🙋♀️
Never had a raw fig
They are the best!
Pongas subtitulo al portugués, español, italiano.. O solo para parlantes ingleses!!? 🤔 No vale!!? Discriminación.... Tendrán más vistas y like
I thought we had enabled subtitles. We will check
You tube is slow with translation just look a bit later.
