ELITE DANGEROUS THEORY : The Lights in Witchspace
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 січ 2025
- In this episode of Elite theory i will be discussing the disappearances of Jasmina Halsey, the Ex Federal president who went missing while in office and Gan Romero who was possessed by something to steal a diamondback and fled into the void. Two individuals who went missing under mysterious circumstances not thought to be related to the Thargoids. I will be discussing the possible connections that these events have to the lights in witchspace and other such strange Alien occurrences within the Elite Dangerous universe not related to the Thargoids.

"People are going missing."
everyone slowly looking over at the Empire...
Last week I was tooling around the Col 70 Sector, The Horsehead Dark Region, and the Cone Sector. As I moved around the accessible perimeter systems near these regions, I couldn't help but think, "These areas are locked by the Pilots Federation and they're locked for a reason."
The only reason I can come up with that large swaths of space would be locked is that someone or something lives there. Someone or something that we're not supposed to know about or interact with. Someone or something with a truly massive civilization. What if these regions are where the Construct went. Or maybe where the surviving Guardians went.
It would be really interesting to know WHEN these sectors became permit locked as that in itself may be a clue as to what resides there. What was happening in human current events in the days leading up to the locking of these sectors?
IF there is a civilization in any of these sectors, it's almost like we have an agreement that we stay out and they stay in. If it were something as advanced as the Construct or the Guardians, I would highly doubt that they're truly contained. We're the ones who are locked out because they have a "gateway" to better things...
I would say it is either a mutual understanding, or they have flat told us to stay out.
Our explorers are quite likely doing what an alien race did thousands to millions of years ago.
They may be quite content sitting back and laughing at us.
I feel like the guardians are still out there. They are prolly willing to help us if we do the fighting for them. Once they see that we can adapt their weapons, and have survived some of their AI, they will either view us as a threat, or useful tool.
At least these places will be major sites for the thargoids. As for permit locked sectors not in the region of barnards loop. I think you might be right. Wither guardians, the construct or some other minor race.... maybe an oisir site frozen out of time.
@@MATTIUS there is also the possibility there is a problem with the generation of those systems and fdev is just lazy... though thats not as fun to think about
THERE IS A THEORY
In real life, there is a theory by a man from Mexico(?) who was in an interview stating that besides humanity, there is a second neighbor civilization called the Pleadiens(?) race who look similar to us. What he theorized is that because of how savage our civilization it is. These aliens told us that “Hey, humans. We will never get along well due to how savage you are, but, we will allow you to explore space with all your heart’s content, but we will form a massive invisible sphere where it will not allow you to pass as it is our region of space we don’t want be tampered with”
I should be in bed but I'm stuck watching your videos! honestly well done, high quality content, visuals and narration. I've been playing Elite for around 7 months, only just discovered you and pleased I have. Not enough content gets done on the theory and lore and I think this really helps hook and engage new players too.
Glad you like them. I try to improve with every episode. Agree with you about lore content. I miss OA doing them
I finally got my GM collection of Elite Dangerous R.P.G. table top setup. The information is huge for even ships, weapons for fps, and ground vehicles too. We are going to have a lot of great things to explore if even just a third of the stuff is cannon. There are relic AI enemies we haven't seen yet.
So is it similar to Battlefleet gothic? in terms of spaceborne tabletop games ive only played BSG. Wanted to play Babylon 5 RPG when i was young but never got round to it.
@@MATTIUS From what I have read it has person, vehicles, and then ship combat. Heck I finally know what a Boa MKIII is in size and its weapons setup. Wish we had the Boa and/or Imperial Explore. As for how it plays I'm not sure as I only have the books. The maps are in pdf files but it seems to work like a battleship like setup. If I'm understanding it right.
@@Knightwolf1875 pretty much 99% sure we are getting new ships come the update. No doubt it will be the Boa. Some new larger vessels similar to the Anaconda would be nice or even better some small capitol ships like destroyers frigates etc. Glad to see your well anyway man, thanks for the support.
@@MATTIUS Your videos are always a treat. Now to just get everyone an idea why I want that Boa. It has (in the book here) 2 huge hard points, 4 large, and 2 small. Also this ship is so big it can't fit at most ports. 203.7m long x 92.1m wide x 67.4m height. It's perfect for exploring with internals components (the optional) being four size 8, one size 7, three size 6, two size 5, and a single size 2. Utility slots? It has eight of those.
Bet it handles like a type 10 though 😁. Does sound like a monster though.
That's funny I remember the President going missing xD
Another stellar video. I love these, i like the connection of Fort Dixon between Ram Tah and Gan Romero. I never even noticed that before. Now i wonder how many more tiny details like this im still overlooking
Cheers for the watch mick. Hope your okay.
@@MATTIUS im doing good cmdr. Ive become somewhat of an introvert in my mid 30s so im actually enjoying social distancing. Cheers!
Glad to hear it. Pretty much the same, my party days are well and truly over.
Love the vids makes the game richer. I so need to pop out to some of these places . Fly safe and see you in the black 07
Thanks for watching John.
Mattius, as always, a great video. Thank you. Elite Dangerous has so many possibilities. I would really enjoy the challenge of finding Romero and hints of what he heard in his dreams. Your videos bring such adventures to life. Keep doing what you're doing!!!
I do think FDev should do more events like the Salome event and incorporate some of these stories into them. I have faith they will advance the story come the update.
I have the true answer to this question:
The devs thought it looked cool XD
According to string theory the universe operates in 10 dimensions, both guardians and thargoids as well as humans are in 3 dimensional level. But if a 3 dimensional being were to come in contact of a 4 dimensional being something that transcends time, space, height and width the 3 dimensional being would consider that thing as a God
Take a closer look at Guardian space. Specifically, take a close look at the stars. They were gardening. They had/have access to spacetime folding technology. The moment you have access to folding space, extinction becomes frankly impossible. A species with this technology can freely navigate time. They'd have to be erased before the inception of their folding machine, and seeing as how we can still find the evidence of that technology, we must then assume they very much still exist, and if aggressive, pose a MUCH more dangerous threat than the 'Goids do. We and the 'Goids are K1 species, the Guardians are K2+.
Oh, string theory actually requires 11 dimensions. XD
I was playing when Romero did a runner, there was so much going on at that time it was like they wanted it to be ignored. There were even then theories that they were setting up space legs, perhaps all the nerf clubbing is to stall for time? Perhaps we're supposed to find things on foot m
I think that having fps elements will expand what they can do with storytelling, I don't think the games dead man just they have been making a massive new element to the game for the past 3 years. Well just have to wait I guess.
Yeah. It will basically be 3 separate games that we transition between. That is a massive undertaking.
And that is if you don't count their accomplishments with the stellar forge, and BGS to a lesser extent.
'Black, but radiant, glowing like heaven' ... That is a black hole.
Another great video Sir..... so glad that you have taken up looking into all of these events... I vote for you to be the new GalNet 2.0 :-) keep up the great work
Haha well the sources are all well written. But of a crusade for me as people always would say to me "elite has no story". I hope i prove them wrong. Thanks for the support Markus.
Since you mentioned kidnappings/abductions, it made me wonder...
Just what does Etienne Dorn do with all of those occupied escape pods he receives to unlock his services?
Great work, as always! And a little bit more for me to keep my eye out for!
Thank you, Commander. o7
He could have a pet thargoid or have shares in imperial slave brothels haha.
Sorry who is that guy?
@@bernardhansell2490 Engineer in Colonia. The only one that does GR5 Life Support. He requires 25 Occupied Escape Pods.
I think, from the texts at his base - He is interested in safety and escape technologies. He want us to participate in space rescues to show him that we are like minded friends.
Participate in rescue operations in Colonia - place still unexplored and dangerous with very few organized police and rescue operations and he will allow us to work with him on the latest experimental safety technologies.
@@Mrrshal I will have to pay close attention to those texts when I go out to Colonia again. I had not yet received his invitation when I went the first time, so I was not privy to that information. I am planning on going sometime soon. Thank you Commander. o7
I’m so glad that when I got hyperdicted by Thargoids I wasn’t obliterated
At a time when the future of the game seems dark, these videos have the potential to be a light. Keep it up brother. o7
Thanks for the watch and support. o7
How does the future seem dark? We've had record players, a big expansion on the way, community efforts... seems pretty good.
@@MS-vn2pb i was about to comment the same. I gave this game a year break, that was 6 months ago, been playing it since.
@@MS-vn2pb I'm with you, I can't say what the game was like before, but all the people that talk about a punishing grind are as offputting as this guy's comment. The galaxy is functionally unlimited to the individual player, there are no deadlines, and really no purpose for playing other than just enjoyment. Maybe if people weren't racing themselves to collect all the things, they wouldn't see it as a grind, and there would still be more stuff for them to do. Even without that, we just go FCs and are about to get space legs, and the search for Raxxla is seemingly picking up speed... what more does he frigging want?
What if Romero is the body that came from nowhere at the Delta 69 Communication Array and that's why they vanished as well?
Are you talking about the same Romero of Daikatana fame?
Ohhh GAN romero hahaha. I thought you meant Mr Doom. Could be
I have a theory.... Or at least a goal to work towards testing. It is my belief that most players "sleep" on minor faction. Many of the vets who are teaching me, tell me not to waste my time with minor factions. But with so many undiscovered permit locks, I believe these might be worth exploring further. Who knows, perhaps the right combination of gaining high rank in minor factions unlocks some sort of message mission that is linked to the permit, or that obtains the permit...
Maybe there is more required than just elite ranks and major faction rep (or power play) to obtain these elusive permits.... As of tonight I have achieved elite in trade. I am already elite in exploration... So I have combat left. Maybe Ill work out some minor faction rank while grinding out combat.
What is your honest opinion on this, do you think its a waste of time? Have the minor faction all been explored in depth, or has anyone obtained max rep with every minor faction? I won't be offended if you disagree entirely. I personally think it's a stretch, but I cannot image what else may unlock a permit that nobody else has already done. (Besides frontier holding off on certain content)
As always thanks for the great work you do. Of all the elite lore channels I've explored yours is by far the best. I look forward to future videos, and I hope to see your channel grow to unbelievable heights!
The thing about Using Minor factions to unlock permits is that it has already been extensively tried and failed so far. Turning the wheel initiative have been doing it for a year and to no success. I am not saying that 100% it doesn't work, i just doubt it works in this way because it would of already been achieved by now. I think the permits are there to protect areas of space so they can develop those areas with new assets away from prying eyes. For instance i believe Raxxla is behind a permit lock. Yes they said Raxxla is in the game, but they never said it is accessible.
Its possible, however I think its more likely that the devs have reserved these systems until a future update, upon which they will be automatically unlocked without the need for a permit (like a placeholder lock until the update with no way to open) or a permit will become available upon the update release
I thought starship one had been found, not just a pod ...
I bit of the wreckage and the pod but no other survivors except jasmina hasley.
Did you notice the face at 4:42? I see the face of and old woman in profile facing left.
I'd love to visit this planet if you happen to have it's name.
o7
I really enjoy your accent dude
Cheers.
I would not be surprised at all if it came out that the Guardians still live. But... something, telepathically communicating with humans? The Guardians, well... from what we know of them rn, are incapable of telepathy. Any form of communication was primarily gestural, otherwise it was written, or rarely spoken. Perhaps though, the thought that if the Guardians actually still live, its possible they've developed telepathy in the millions of years they've survived from their own constructs, but... otherwise? Besides some Deity, the only other known species to exist that could possibly communicate with Humans telepathically would be the Thargoids... given how they're a hive mind, they communicate ideally with telepathy... in of which case, could it be that the said Humans that experienced these "visions" and heard these "voices" were calls from the Thargoids? It wouldn't surprise me either, if they had learned to decrypt the Human language entirely.
There has since been other instances of Thargoid technology apparently speaking to Humans with the Coalsack mystery (check my vid). The guardians also had the Monolith network, which was a communal network linked into many members of the Guardian race's brains. I thinking these days however that it although similar to the Jasmina Hasley encounter, one could be Guardian and the other Thargoid.
@@MATTIUS I like the Thargoid idea, honestly the more I see of these theories the more frighteningly powerful they seem to be.
At least, I hope they are lol, it would be amazing.
Great
Cheers guys
