I never tire of seeing the Nebraska Zephyr!! I rode the NZ back and forth between my home town and my college town when i was in college in the early 60s. I made many a trip in the "Vesta" coach!!
Always enjoy hearing the sound of the single chime A-200 "honker" horn on the E5. On most vids the engineer blows the other horn, which is paired ( I think it's a Leslie S2, but I'm not certain).
It definitely is! And the CB&Q was the only road to own the E5 model. But then, the Q didn't have flashy paint schemes for its diesels like other roads did, so the fluted sides fit in well with their streamliners.

That's an EMD E5.
It's also the ONLY EMD E5 IN THE WORLD still in operation! :)

This has to be the coolest diesel ever.

@gtptube Thanks, the first clip was in Cherry Valley
A nice set of clips. I was just on the other side of the bridge in Cherry Valley. And I'm in your shot by the airport. Sorry.
Great footage. Nothing like being in the right place at the right time. Were were you for the first shot with the three engines on the head end?
LOVE IT!!!

THat an E8 !? that slant nose tells me its an E6. or earlier
It's an E5. The CB&Q was the only road that owned this particular model.
If only we could travel like that again. But, nope. We have Amcrap. 😕
... and ℹ wonder if Joe Blow & Jane Doe have the SLIGHTEST idea of what has just rolled past them - or if they think it's Just Another dumb train
