0:54 Basically quoted me on Zerg commanders: it's not that they're bad, I just don't like them. 1:12 While I am often a bit quick to parrot the "Abathur strongest commander", I personally believe Zeratul might be a bit higher up. In any case, I would place Zeratul and Abathur in god-tier, and then just below that would drop Fenix, Vorazun, Tychus, and maybe Kerrigan in S-tier. Edit: oh right, I forgot Dehaka. He slots in with the other 3, not Kerrigan. 6:45 Wait expansion clearing? Shouldn't you be using either Kaldalis or Taldarin to clear out your expansion long before you get your Fenix suits? I mean, one of the strengths of Fenix is that he can expand quite quickly. 7:45 Nifty little trick to add that, detectors in stasis can't detect. So if you drop all the detectors into stasis and then cloak your army, then you will have those 1-sided fights quite often. 10:00 Another point for legionnaires: if you get the Empower Blades upgrade for Kaldalis at the twilight council (and have level 15), then Kaldalis actually becomes by far your highest damage unit as long as you have enough shells for his tactical data web. It only gets more insane with his second prestige. 11:30 Actually, conservators have not that much less dps than adepts against armoured. The tickle ray is highly underated. Still not a good idea to mass them though. 11:58 *Duration, not size 14:15 I think you might have copy pasted the script from Karax a bit too hard; no overtime damage for colossi for Fenix 14:30 I mean, they are designed to work *with* adepts, and have pretty impressive synergy there. Still yeah, mass colossus is not going to take you terribly far. 15:23 I have never seen such a perfect summary of Fenix disruptor. Bravo. 18:25 Bah, carriers are probably the most mono-battle-y of Fenix' units. If you want to be real optimal about it, you make a couple gateways for the early game and then just stop making non-carrier units after a while but... carriers are just really strong once you have a big fleet of them. 18:55 It does have a cap, but not too important. 19:25 *based on supply. I feel like that's an important note to mention. 23:20 For set 1, I prefer energy for the most part for sure. The Fenix suit abilities are really good. For set 2, I think that Talis, Kaldalis, and Mojo get the most out of hp while the robo champions get the most out of attack speed, especially warbringer For set 3, I like to take 5 points of starting supply and the rest chrono. Chrono mastery means faster probes, means faster ramping up economy. It also means much faster production and upgrading of those critical early champions who will be your early power.
First off, wow. The sheer size and detail of this comment deserves recognition. This is why I love the comments so much as people like you give me so much advice on how to change my game to be so much more efficient but just better. Thank you so much!
As a note for extra effectiveness, set your rapidfire to Fenix's first ability for maximum spam. If you don't know what that is, it's a hotkey you can assign that acts as a second way to activate abilities besides clicking on the map after you select them. If the buttons for selecting and firing an ability are the same, you can hold that button down and the game will spam it as quickly as your pc can register the orders. In Fenix's case, this means draining his entire energy pool in less than a second, putting out 1000 (or 2000 for his P1) AoE damage in that time frame. This little trick makes him the hardest hitting panic button in the game, topping out even Hann's teleporting spaceport. Edit: Talis's upgrade makes her attack cause enemies to take more damage from all sources. While not super good for Fenix himself, quantity over quality allies (like Raynor) will find it to be a massive boon. On the Conservators, they can also throw that defensive field out a good distance without fully deploying, which makes it really good on the attack. This is most helpful on P1, since they jump to the top of the command pool without Fenix being active. On Taldarin, his base attack has a CC ability built in that pulls nearby enemies towards whatever he's targeting. It pairs well with Kaldalis. On power set 2. You actually want your heroes to die, at least a little, as that triggers the avenging protocol and makes them move and attack 50% faster. With that in mind, attack speed is better for most variations. P1 is good for when you want to focus on your army, not Fenix. He becomes all your calldowns, kept in the back pocket for emergencies while your normal units do most of the fighting. What's more, his energy will regen fully between uses without any mastery upgrades, so you can pour those points into attack speed instead. As a final note, the arbiter has no cooldown, so you can have it out as much as you want for detection and the like. P2 unit costs are all cut in half along with the weaker stats, so getting your army up and running is a lot faster than it might otherwise be. P3 also has it so any hero that dies will refund 75% of the cost of making that shell, so with good production you barely notice the loss. That said, the attack speed bonus can get so high that the attack animations start getting in the way and the hero's overall dps suffers. This guy has a video showcasing that exact issue. starcraft2coop.com/commanders/fenix
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS 27 minutes of entertainment, information, and overall good video edits with great footage and all i like it, cant believe this channel has only few subs.
1:01 That's actually a no but not too far off, but if it's your favorite to play it's super fine, I mean, without prestiges he's quite strong, Prestige 2 he's even stronger, but Abathur still takes the cake of the strongest commander all around. If anyting I believe Fenix is a underrated commander, because players gets too much into Tychus and Zeratul when Fenix is a good commander to learn macro. 23:21 His meta play is having literally 1 point into extra supply and the rest into chrono, so you open with zealot or imortal, get his champion without getting supply blocked at any point, extra supply do enables extra minerals in units for the early game, so it's nothing wrong with investing all points into it. His prestiges are quite good, P1 is about getting that Dragoon and wipe Amon's base with it or attack wave. P2 Kaldalis is the commander, Fenix stand aside. P3 I think it's meant to be used vs black death mutation, didn't unlocked it myself so I don't know. Lastly, conservators are good, that barrier actually reduces spell dmg as well, so those battlecruisers with yamatos actually deals less dmg to your army.
I agree, Fenix really is a under rated commander that just is not played enough. I'm also seeing a constant theme of don't invest with that much population and put in on chrono boost. Meh, still haven't decided if I want to though, sorry.
10/10 would recommend! In all honesty, I hope you are enjoying the videos for each commander. So if you ever want info for any of the commanders, I have them on the channel.
I’m not sure on the names of all the personalities, but for Mojo, in Starcraft 1 there was like a mini-campaign (I’m not sure what to call it, it was like a built-in custom campaign) where one of the main characters was a scout called Mojo.
“Enslavers” & “Enslavers II”. I’m coincidentally playing “Enslavers Redux” while watching this video and just left Mojo to die instead of saving him. 😅 Edit: I’m pretty sure both Taldarin & Warbringer are also both from that same campaign.
Using Fenix, I tend to split the mastery points for Chrono and Starting Supply evenly. This ensures I get a little bit of both. I have that earlier game from not building Pylons and at the same boosting Chronoboost for the late game. At the point that I need to start bulding Pylons it tends to be when I start making Zealots as my mineral dump. Which is usually a third of the way or so into the game.
Fenix was a hero in star craft one. My heart cried when I couldn't save him. He is like Tassadar or Tyrael from Diablo. An unsung hero of bravery, sacrifice and justice.
I think the only reason I play Talandar is for the Scout. That baby was my weapon of choice in the first starcraft. The sound of that proton autocannon still sounds in my head
If you can handling doing some micro while managing your base with hotkeys, you can use P1 Akhulander to destroy whole waves or enemy bases with ease. It's very strong and well worth investing time in. His P2 is fun if you want to have a giant army. You have to micro the little shield generator dudes a bit and give them Arbiter stealth. Generally for most Fenix players, I'd say you can stop after mastering P1, unless you just really love playing the Commander want to try the other playstyle.
If something is on higher terrain it will sometimes aim higher when attacking. Also I believe the unit model was maid with also attacking air in mind but the unit was nerfed for... obvious reasons.
Milion sub UA-camrs have comparable editing and need to hire an editor because they can't spend more than hour making videos You are a very hard working man I feel like I should make my own channel just to promote people like you when I get popular
Thank you very much! I never understood the purpose to getting an editor as a content creator to a certain degree. I might get one in the future, but only for drastic changes to my life like getting married and having children. Or just simply that I diversify my content to the extreme. However, I enjoy the process of editing, I don't think I will give it up any time soon!
I'd put Fenix at a close second on Protoss. I think sometimes Fenix is a bit more versatile as well, particularly in fighting air terran and airtoss. Fenix is certainly an S tier commander. As far as Zerg is concerned, Dehaka is the only commander. While I guess Tychus is technically Terran, if you want normal gameplay, it's either Nova or Raynor for me. Tychus has a distinctive playstyle unlike any of the other commanders.
My personal favourite commander remains Nova. I like her versatility and her elite units. The idea of few vs many has always intrigued me and if I feel like I wanna be one of the few I play her. Also the upgrades to her units are amazing (LIFE REGEN!!!) and she has few units for many situations while being strong herself. But I think the strongest commander is Raynor by far. Having 200 Space Marines with healers in the back row is simply unbeatable and waaaayyyyy to easy to achieve. He doesn't even need any other unit or even structure, barracks are enough
I love the life regen too! Nova is so powerful despite having a nerf to her kit. She is a blast to play and I am thankful that you enjoy playing her and carrying the team. Also, you have brought up a great point as a wall of flesh also known as Marines and medics are just two powerful! It is quite uncomfortable how easy it is to make as well! Thank you for actually answering in the comments and I hope that you have a great day and enjoy the videos that I make, both past, present and future!
@@ToxicSpilll I certainly do good sir! :D Thank you for actually responding, not many UA-camrs do. I actually think that Raynor should be nerfed. I know he is a starter commander and that is fine but he is SOOOO much easier than Artanis or Kerrigan. I mean why take the time and learn how to play difficult commanders like Vorazun (my second main) or Zagara (my third main) when you simply can spam Space Marines and never lose..? That is sad. But hey, I forgot 2 points about what I like about Nova: 1. A nuclear missile. A! NUCLEAR! MISSILE! How awesome is that?! 2. Siege Tanks. I L O V E Siege Tanks and Nova's are simply the best despite costing a fortune. I love the mission where you gotta survive the nights and I can put a dozen Siege Tanks around the base to blast everything away (except for air units obviously :( )
@@sachikozeingor1077, I agree he definitely needs to be nerfed as a "free" hero shouldn't be that powerful. Also when it comes to Dead Of Night level, I like playing Swann as the drill combined with high damaging siege tanks is just so satisfying!
Haha, Nice Guide yet again, I'm looking forward to the Zeratul guide since I bought him justg yesterday, He is really fun to play and he is my favourite character in the Starcraft Universe.
Amazing voice, Amazing kit, and even more fun to play. I think you will like the purchase you have made! Thank you for watching the video as there are other people that make a "better" video than me and you have decided to watch mine! I hope you enjoyed the video and have a nice day!
@@ToxicSpilll yes man , i also wait for the Zeratul guide , my favourite , even if i am at 190+ mastery level with him but i wait to know some new features that i might not noticed)
You didn't mention Probious! lol, little Easter egg they thru in, after unlocking all champions the next probe you make is Probious. No improved stats or mining potential, just a fun Easter egg! lol
Dehaka is the most entertaining commander I have ever played and he is so strong to the point where he could win a game himself. As for the subscriber count, I think that I am making something different that deserves more attention. HOWEVER, I also think that my views and subscribers are a reflection of how good I'm doing. Only makes me want to work harder! Thank you for the comment, I'm exited too about Dehaka's video that will be up soon! I hope you have a great day and enjoy the content!
I might be a little late but hey. Experienced Dehaka player here, I may assist with Dehaka tips & tricks if you may need them; mostly tied to his first Prestige, Devouring One! I can assure that playing Devouring One Dehaka with a coordinated player is the most amusing time one may experience
@@ToxicSpilll Rattlesnake can fire back and his heal rate scales with hp, so he's a better healer for the higher-hp muscles and guns. Nikara is better for sustained healing, rapid burst healing, and for healing fixers. She's also better for mutations
@@ToxicSpilll adding onto what kamikaze said, nikara has a shitty A.I while medics normally stay behind the army in an A-move and wait until someone takes damage to heal them, nikara will charge straight into the enemy if theres nobody to heal shes very micro-heavy as you have to keep her back so she doesnt just suicide
@@ToxicSpilll I subbed! It's just… I wish you were there when I was still new, hahah! When I invite some friends who never play SC2 before to play, I'll be sure to show them your channel ;) You deserve more subs!
I think stukov and raynor are some of the strongest commander, stukov is just throwing shit at the enemy and if you spam bunkers or barracks you can wash anything away with 100's of infested. Raynor does require some skill to play him good but once you do get the hang of it he is extremely powerful in any situation.
Please tell me someone in these comments told Toxic the hero names like Mojo and Warbringer are a reference to the Enslavers. Because if nobody has then there ya go Toxic, a bit of SC1's history for ya.
Lorewise, before LotV in a comic, Khaldaris, a good friend of Artanis, comes to man up his friend to make him feel like the Hierarch he is. There he tells Artanis that he is an Akhundelar, a tip of the spear, one of the first to go planetside to proppel the invasion
why do you call the arbiter "new"? the abilities are straight out of starcraft 1 lol here's some things i've gathered from watching people play him: a. even on the base prestige 0, maxing out tactical data web is the strongest way to play the commander. remember it's per supply, not per unit, so for adepts you need 10, for legionnaires you need 7. b. Kaldalis rips through *everything* if you're using p2, his attack speed is actually too fast for the game to comprehend. c. as you say, having extra starting supply only helps in the early game, so it's better to put just 5-10 points into it and the rest into chrono boost. i've seen different players use different amounts, like it seems to depend on what they want to build.
@@ToxicSpilll That's why is my favourite prestige for my favourite commander. You can even play with only one base and with only autoatacks. Just keep the replacements ready for those champions
Personally P1 is my favorite. Because I can use the Disruptors and Conservator's abilities. Plus Fenix is more powerful even though having limited time.
3 years later and all coop commander maxed for the prestige i need to play , Tychus P2 or P1 is dumb as F u just need to saturate your both CC build the 3 barracks and 1 upgrade building for +3 dmg upgrade + all the tweak for more dps tanking and anti cloak heroes , take Sirius Maradeur for heal & Vega all the rest are optionnel , Medivac building too ... The most dumb and boring way to play but 100% effectif and easy to use , hard to perfom badly with so much power ! Play the P3 for Odin 100% uptime is a good way to cheese even more map .

@@ToxicSpilll yes man , i also wait for the Zeratul guide , my favourite , even if i am at 190+ mastery level with him but i wait to know some new features that i might not noticed)
@@dtmeans8623 What is his second prestige btw, I can't remember off the top of my head?
@@ToxicSpilll infinite artefacts)
You didn't mention Probious! lol, little Easter egg they thru in, after unlocking all champions the next probe you make is Probious. No improved stats or mining potential, just a fun Easter egg! lol
YES DEHAKA IS NEXT! LEZ GOOOOOO!
Also its a crime you dont have more subscribers
@@PikyTheGoofball No, you are still in time. Thank you by the way, I will use this info as best I can!
Keep it up bruh, loving your vids
Thank you, I will. Hell, right now I am working on the Stetmann video.
Well explained and yes, I hate doing hotkeys too. Love your videos
A FELLOW BROTHER!
I feel like I should subscribe not for the Starcraft content, but for the ToxicSpill content.
When I eventually branch off to do other things, I need that support. Thank you!
I am a Tychus player:
Very good adaption against any enemy
Agreed, can you answer me this though? Why is it that Tychus players never make the medic hero?
@@ToxicSpilll Those Tychus players want damage over heals.
I am not one of those Tychus players.
Maybe you played only with those Tychus players.
@@ToxicSpilll Rattlesnake can fire back and his heal rate scales with hp, so he's a better healer for the higher-hp muscles and guns. Nikara is better for sustained healing, rapid burst healing, and for healing fixers. She's also better for mutations
@@ToxicSpilll adding onto what kamikaze said, nikara has a shitty A.I
while medics normally stay behind the army in an A-move and wait until someone takes damage to heal them, nikara will charge straight into the enemy if theres nobody to heal
shes very micro-heavy as you have to keep her back so she doesnt just suicide
Omg I love this video there are far and in between good coop commander break down videos I’ve never subscribed so fast before
Thanks for the sub! I'm really happy that you enjoy the video and format so much. I hope you find them all useful and entertaining!
I usually take 3-4 conservators to spam the shield and to warp in adepts mid fight
Fenix is my only commander that I’ve done all the prestiges, Dehaka is a close second. Still I wanted to see what your thoughts on the character were.
what part if I may ask?
The first centaur in the world with whirlwind :Talandar!!
True
That intro is so true 👀
One of the entire reasons why I made this series!
@@ToxicSpilll I subbed! It's just… I wish you were there when I was still new, hahah! When I invite some friends who never play SC2 before to play, I'll be sure to show them your channel ;) You deserve more subs!
@@raddox7 thank you very much!
1 correction my man, the Arbiter is a hold over from Sc1 and Artanis Reaver
oh, you are so smol and make this good videos, keep up the good work :)
Thank you very much! I hope you enjoy the videos
The strongest commander is zeratul, so many shortcuts for macro and overpowered top bar abilitty, with overpowered unit
Just make sure you don't lose a lot of units, hard to replace indeed
5:53 I hate you Hybrid and that behemoth Hybrid!!!! 😂😂😂
Don't we all, don't we all...
great guide, although you miss-read a few of the names
kaldalis, not kaladis
clolarion, not colarion
whoops! Sorry about that
I think stukov and raynor are some of the strongest commander, stukov is just throwing shit at the enemy and if you spam bunkers or barracks you can wash anything away with 100's of infested. Raynor does require some skill to play him good but once you do get the hang of it he is extremely powerful in any situation.
I really enjoy your videos. Keep it up!
Only two more left unfortunately
@@ToxicSpilll Yeah. But all your stuff is enjoyable :)
@@MarkRynn Thank you, I will remember this positivity on the next set of videos I do
@@ToxicSpilll Excellent:)
Best video to date!
I agree! besides the fact that it could have gotten done sooner...
Dehaka or Zagara are the best *IN MY OPINION*
Arbiters are from SC1
Please tell me someone in these comments told Toxic the hero names like Mojo and Warbringer are a reference to the Enslavers. Because if nobody has then there ya go Toxic, a bit of SC1's history for ya.
Lorewise, before LotV in a comic, Khaldaris, a good friend of Artanis, comes to man up his friend to make him feel like the Hierarch he is. There he tells Artanis that he is an Akhundelar, a tip of the spear, one of the first to go planetside to proppel the invasion
How could you?! How could you forget to mention the seventh Fenix's champion, Probius, the savior of Aiur?
why do you call the arbiter "new"? the abilities are straight out of starcraft 1 lol
here's some things i've gathered from watching people play him: a. even on the base prestige 0, maxing out tactical data web is the strongest way to play the commander. remember it's per supply, not per unit, so for adepts you need 10, for legionnaires you need 7.
When I mean "New" I mean as an introduction to the series new. Not new to the uriverse.
Haha adept and scout and carrier go brrrrrrrr
Nova is my fav
Hey, you missed a champion:
Probius
I have played enough heroes of the storm to fear that name...
@@ToxicSpilll
Well it's in the game under Fenix
@@FBI-ju5no really? I don't remember it?
@@ToxicSpilll
Build all the heros, then build a probe.
It's probius
@@FBI-ju5no I'll keep it in mind
Swann is the best.
I am aware I'm months late with this comment.
They deadnamed our poor boy Talandar. He should be called
Talandar from the start and in menus.
IDK why they didn't do that either?
@@ToxicSpilll I don't know why renaming him isn't free when it doesn't affect gameplay.
Awesome guides… it’s a shame you left
Mass scouts ftw. 🤣
Don't recommend...plz
Abathur is the strongest. P2 Karax is my favorite.
Agreed
The personalities are downloaded from cloud
LOL
Prestige 2 Fénix is just protoss Tychus
Well, you are not wrong...
@@ToxicSpilll That's why is my favourite prestige for my favourite commander.
You can even play with only one base and with only autoatacks.
Just keep the replacements ready for those champions
Personally P1 is my favorite. Because I can use the Disruptors and Conservator's abilities. Plus Fenix is more powerful even though having limited time.
due to level i think 11 it is each time the host is destroyed the gain bonuses tell me if im wrong :> (love your vids)
Im glad that you enjoy them!
U forgot probius make all the heroes and then make one probe check all probes for the hero ring
We don't mention him, too much bad history with Heros of the Storm there.
Zag is the best because P2
We miss the real fenix so he will never be talandar for me lol
Dehaka
Dehaka what?
@@ToxicSpilll Best commander
@@nikolaandric9755 Fair choice, one of my favourites.
zeroto is best vs terrs
