So I have a question" I'm making the head right now. I did everything as you said and I figured it would sink from being round especially if stationed for a long period of time. I'm currently have it stationed on a cap to prevent it just getting flatter but it's also helping create that neck/cavity area where I'll be putting the hole. Is there anything else you can suggest in doing to keep it up and level from it going anymore flat or is it just a matter of periodicly checking on it?
I let did have a bit of a flat area where the hole goes. Also did keep an eye on it as it was drying. Whenever it seem like the flat area was getting too wide, I would gently reshape it. Only had to do this once or twice. The clay thickness will play a factor as far as how many times you might have to fiddle with it. At which it will stiffen to a point where it will stop collapsing even though it hasn’t fully dried yet.
Just finished the puppet this evening, looks ok, not as good as yours, but I'm ok with it. Just in time for cosplay next weekend at a horror con. Thanks again!
