I love Quedlinburg, and I miss it. I can confirm that it's absolutely magical during Christmas. If you happen to visit during snow season, make sure to go walk up to the castle. The view from the castle gardens is spectacular.
Fun fact: because the entire city of Quedlinburg is an Unesco heritage site, there are no fast food chains like McDonalds or Burger King in or near the City. You can see this on google Maps. However due to Subway qualifying as a ''bakery'' there is a single subway in a designated comertial area next to a supermarket. Another fun fact: Quedlinburg is a leading producer of seeds for private gardens. Like your typical garden flowers and vegetables or lawn grass.
That's so cool. I hadn't noticed it yet, but I don't see any fastfood chain. Is it that as soon a city is UNESCO World Heritage the noisy chains and ads disappear? Then let's make more cities UNESCO.
Thank you very much for the wonderful views... I was born in this city, but unfortunately grew up somewhere else... my oldest siblings and our parents lived at Finkenherd... Before they moved near Ernst Thälmann Straße and I was born on my parents' bedroom bed... I was nine months old and we moved to another city in Brandenburg...
@@wonderjourneys Oh yes, very beautiful Pictures (sorry, i dont speak english, only german- Language). I wish you a merry Christmas (and Peace for us all), God bless you!
Baiern is on our wish list! We would so love to see Munich and Rottenburg, and castles like Neuschwanstein. What places would you recommend for us to see?
I hope quite a lot. All of Quedlinburg survived the decades and centuries. Restorations have taken place of course, but it is said this is how it was “before Germany was Germany”
Can anyone explain the pentagrams above the doors at the 5:13 mark? Just curious as to what they represent, and if the house itself serves a specific purpose.
Hi. We thought the pentagrams were to scare off evil spirits. There is quite a strong Witch Lore in the Harz region & Quedlinburg. The symbol is all over the medieval town.

Yes indeed. No posters and signs and ads but only the exceptional beauty of Quedlinburg ‘s medieval architecture. It would be great if we could Unclutter every city in Europe
You mean Český Krumlov/Krumau? It seems to be comparable to Quedlinburg, it's another UNESCO world cultural heritage, but how do you know it's better without ever having visited Quedlinburg the past 20 years?

Thành phố tuyệt đẹp qua góc máy drone❤🔔👍🇻🇳🌷🌷
Thank you, yeah we were glad to have the drones with us to film it from the air. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is stunning from every angle
Quedlinburg ist sooo schön! 😍🎉 Wir haben den Ort und die Brockenbahn vor kurzem auf Barrierefreiheit getestet mit Schauspieler Tan Caglar. 🙂
That sounds amazing. We did not have time to do the train ride yet
@@wonderjourneys Thanks a lot for reaction on my comment! You should absolutely take your time and do the train ride - it is amazing! :)

I wonder how many of these buildings are originally from medieval times. Charming town

Mooie stad maar ongeschikt voor rolstoelers of mindervaliden zo jammer
That’s probably the case. With lots of those old town, sadly
