Here in Phoenix yellows just about a half a mile from our trucking company, they parked a dry van trailer right in front of the main gate. Ghost Town now.

I worked for Hostess Brands for 7yrs. The Ceo was awarded millions of dollars for nothing
I noticed how the one man stated they were family but he was only concerned about the 22,000 Teamsters who lost their jobs not the other 8000 people who lost their jobs. 30,000 people lost their jobs. How many of the non-union workers had 2 daughters, car payments, or mortgages. Maybe that was a problem many people could not understand this is a team.
This is only the beginning of company’s shutting down.
Unions would rather see businesses go bankrupt instead of keeping a job.
Corporations would rather rape their workforce and steal than do business right and pay a fair wage.

This had been in the making for quite 20 years. Teamsters have had a knife to the throat of the workers at every bend in the road. Only people that made out were the Union management.
An investigation is definitely in order! I worked at Holland out of Springfield Missouri. The concessions we gave back as drivers was unacceptable! Someone needs to go to prison

Every gas station pizza joint restaurant cigarette shop along the way to the dock we're those people worked will be affected.
Yellow management must have done a fairly go job managing there company, for they lasted for longer then most of the other union LTL carriers.

Absolutely correct. Unions put many employees out of work by overpricing their labor. No one is guaranteed a job in life. I worked for a company that told us if we ever tried to unionize they would just close shop and relocate. You cant force a company to stay in business just to provide jobs.

They all seem to forget when Consolidated Freightways (CF) went broke years ago, and closed up after being in business since 1928. Many other trucking companies did the same thing, I can't even remember them all. The drivers got past it, and moved on. That's what'll happen with old yeller too.
I had a CF terminal near my home. I was trying to remember what company that was thanks for reminding me.
It isn't even close to being the same. CF didn't owe the government 1.5 billion dollars. And the US Department of Treasury didn't own 30 percent of the company stock.

And how the drivers moaned & groaned for awhile, and then little by little got other jobs, and got past the whole thing. Do you remember many of the companies that went under ? McClean, TransAmerican Frt Lines, Time-DC, Long Transp. out of Detroit, Carolina Frt Carriers, Sam Tanksley, Campbell's-66, Arrow Trucking, so many I can't even think of them all. Remember how Arrow left drivers stranded all over the country ? So no, it's not about "Yellow" itself, it's about the employees picking themselves up by their bootstraps, and moving on.

Sometimes companies fail, even if it took many many years before it happened. Just as sometimes Unions get too caried away, & price themselves right out of a job. Fagedaboudit & move on, that's all you can do anyway.
