Removing the transfer case from my parts Geo Tracker

- Since I now have the blue Geo Tracker the plan is to swap the drive train out of the parts car into it. I am thinking about pulling the motor and transmission as one piece but in order to do that I has to first remove the transfer case. I did it one way but after it was out I was informed of a better way so check out the video for both the right and wrong way to remove it. Process will be the same on a Suzuki Sidekick or X-90
Thanks bro. Big help as always. Sorry haven't been keeping up with the vids. But thanks for the info. I gotta take apart my transmission too. My 5th is yelling at me eveytime I use it. Haha.
Good luck. Remember to put yellow metal safe oil back in so it wont ruin the brass inside.
@@trashpandaoffroad3548 thanks and I'll be sure to lol
Good job !
Thanks. It wasnt too bad of a job.
those bolts to the right , group of 4 bolts are definitely metric, 10.9 is on the head and that is metric grade 8 bolts
Didn't even notice the markings on them. Still gonna use them when I put the blue tracker back together.
i got the engine out, i need to change one bearing from the tranny but i dont have a transmission jack, can i remove just the transmission without the transfer case?
If the engine is out of the way you could possibly move the transmission forward enough to get it apart from the tranfer case. Never personally done it but it seems possible.
thanks for reply! i think is possible too, im gona try it and i tell you how it went 😂
I got a grand Vitara the clutch is slipping hard is the transfer case divorced like the samurai?
Nope. You more than likely have the awd transfer case.
I just pull the transmission shifter and drop the transmission and transfer case together.
I think last time I did a 5spd transmission that is what I did. For this I want to try and pull the engine and transmission out as one so I went this route.
Is it easier to pull the manual trans with the t case or just the t case? I just pulled the 4th broken front diff housing out and think my t case chain stretched causing a pop in the front end when I'm offroading.
If it was me I would just pull the transfer case. Easier to get back in.
Why would anyone cut the body to service the transfer case? Like it was designed to never be removed?
Dude! UA-cam some video making videos 🤣🤮 your just confusing folks. Yo.....buy a Chilton🤑🤪
That's not the worst of it I have seen way more with squares cut in the back so poeple could change a fuel pump then with tunnels cut up.
