I still enjoy watching your vids Frank :) I am installing an electric motor in my 95 Tracker, so all if this engine rebuilding seems so silly to me now. I don't miss it as much as I thought I would!

Just got done putting mine back together. 4x4 light now is on when transfer case is in neutral and off when in 4x4 haha. I assume its the switch but i put it in the same way it came out. Any thoughts?

It is a simple on/off button so the shift rod bumps it and turns it on in 4x4 position. If it is bumping the switch in neutral then something is out of place. It sucks, but my opinion is that you will need to take it back out. A disclaimer about my opinion is that I don't know all the details of your situation.

Can the rear case be removed while it is still in the car? I need to replace the needle bearing were the slip yoke slides into.

I do not think so. You need to be able to get at the bolts all the way around it. Best/easiest to just remove it from the vehicle.

Sorry, living in Alaska, I don't have air conditioning in mine and know next to nothing about the A/C. It is in the service manual though and I put a link to that recently on my face book page. My FB page is facebook.com/SidekickRebuild/

Do you have a video or info on separating the transmission and transfer case? Mine are stuck together

Yes. It is my transfer case video. I have a hydraulic spreader. It is part of the chassis bending kit from Harbor Freight. It is sealed with rtv so you need something strong to force them apart.

For anyone else with this problem in the future, make sure you remove the transmission shift turret entirely in order to reveal the hidden bolt underneath

Hi, I wonder if you may help me my transfer shift was dismount and after it it doesn’t work well, some time if I push the shifter forward try to work. What could be? The trasfter was working fine before it

I could not know with this amount of information, but it does seem obvious that it was not reassembled correctly after you removed it. I think you will have to take it back out to find the problem.
